Loose Cannon

Bockin? you mean Bockwinkle? I figured the Hogan era started around '84/85 and Nick was still on top then
It's WWF only I see anyway. I'll redo the lists

I know i'm going to make my list later, but Cena should at least be in there somewhere in the faces dept. (late 2003-04)

Bockwin, forgot the W. :p
I don't know much about the New Generation era since I was a kid when I watched it. Were the pops modified? Because I remember Razor Ramon at one point in 95 was fucking ridiculous over, perhaps more than Shawn or Bret.

Heel
1) Bobby Heenan
2) Piper
3) Bret Hart (Anti America)
4) Macho Man
5) Dibiase
6) Rock
7) Angle
8) Undertaker (Ministry)
9) HHH
10) Rick Rude
HBK was never the top heel until 97, and DX was pretty much faces.
HBK in Montreal is mad heat though.

I cant believe I was the first one to say Bobby Heenan.
I know some of you are young, but in the 80s he was the Number one Heel against Hogan, they just attached random guys to him to throw at Hulk, and in turn got them over.
Loose Cannon

wasn't counting managers.
NeanderCarl

In no order, prime heat year in parenthesis, not counting managers, modern era only...
Faces:
Hulk Hogan (1987)
Steve Austin (1998)
The Rock (2000)
Roddy Piper (1991)
Bret Hart (1993)
Randy Savage (1988)
The Undertaker (1997)
Ultimate Warrior (1990)
Shawn Michaels (1996 or 2004)
The British Bulldog (1992)... in the UK, at least. He was a God over here, the most over babyface in the company, more so than Hogan, Warrior, Savage or anyone else. WWF cleverly edited the syndicated shows like Superstars that they sent over here, so that not only were Davey Boy matches put in the main event slot to make it look like he was a huge deal over the pond, but his losses were rarely shown either.
Heels:
Triple H (2000)
The Rock (1998 or 2003)
Ted DiBiase (1988)
Andre The Giant (1987)
Jake The Snake Roberts (1991/92)
Roddy Piper (1985)
Mr Perfect (1990)
Ric Flair (1992)
Jerry Lawler (1993)
Randy Savage (1989)
Chris Benoit (2007) :shifty:
Special mentions for Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Blassie, Vince and the Stooges, but they weren't proper wrestlers.

Not even close.
As much as I believe Taker was at his peak 98-99 I don't know if heel Taker would be top 10 heels ever. Demonic Undertaker (from reconcilation with Paul to some weeks before he left in 99) always looked in my eyes as if people were interested in his character but weren't sure whether to hate him for being a super heel or like his attitude.

The Rock was never more over than Stone Cold
Yeah, I'd have to say Austin or Hogan are easily the most over people of all time. Rock was pretty popular in 2000, but in 97 and 98 the crowd reactions for Austin were just ridiculous. I don't remember seeing many people talking about the loudest pops of all time and including Rock... Usually it was Austin (though Jericho's debut and Triple H's return were also popular picks).
NeanderCarl

Triple H had a huge pop on his return in MSG but one of the biggest one-time pops ever doesnt neccessarily mean you're one of the most over faces ever.
Dino Bravo
Adrian Adonis
Eddie Guerrero

Owen Hart

Big John Studd

I'm also surprised that no one is saying DDP more when he was in WCW. That diamond hand-signal was boss and he had one of the greatest moves ever.
