View Full Version : WWE needs more of that tongue in cheek stuff back

Or maybe just better tongue in cheek stuff.
I loved the way Pirate Paul played the the camera, and Crime Tyme was fun in an almost self-parody sense. And I loved it back when we had the Hurricane, who acted like he took the role so seriously.
that's not to say the whole show should be comedy, satire, whatever. A few minutes of midcard time done well would make me far more entertained.

They should make some guy who is stuck doing nothing a Godlike character, maybe name him Archangel and give him super powers. His entrance can have lots of white smoke kind of like a cloud and he'd be mega-over with the Christian crowd. He can perform miracles like helping some jobber pin John Cena and when theres a big heel group on face beatdown he can come down from the rafters and all the heels go flying over the top rope.
Imagine an Archangel vs Undertaker feud that would be a hot fucking feud. I nominate Matt Striker for this role.

Curry Man yes
Sharkboy can bugger off

Curryman would be unemployeed within a month for not wrestling like Rey
I predict a Cryme Tyme return within the next 2 years anyway, the smaller guy is re-training again

Yeah, and less toilet humor.
That would help.

It needs more sophisticated storyline and humor, period. It doesn't need to be high drama. But it should be more than "You have the title and punched my dad, I'm going to get you."

And Cena getting sent to Iraq, I mean when is his tour of duty supposed to happen.
And he calls himself The Marine.

Its not entirely sophisticated but Santino has been gold lately. The Snoop Dogg segment was funny, but the King/Sandwich segment was great. And whilst not indicative of WWE audiences he got a big pop from the 11 people round my mates at the time when he punked Lawler.

Actually, at this point, it needs to be more complicated than "Cena overcomes the odds."

That and not everything/one has to be funny.

Or rather, "funny."

Word. I was just about to mention Santino. The guy's hilarious. I laughed so hard when he said something about taking The King's "delicious sandwich".

J.R.: A helicopter from Jillian Hall.
Santino: That was a helluva copter, if you ask me.
King: No one did.

STEALING THE SANDWICH WAS GOLD. I love when things that are so small and petty come out like that. Its a refreshing break from the over the top seriousness.
Santino should start running off with people's boots and shirts and shit.

Tomko : NO!
Why? Because then it will quickly become overdone and stop being funny.
Once was good, anymore and its gonna start sucking.

I didn't mind Pirate Paul Burchill. I liked how, for once, he was a regular guy who just liked acting like a pirate... instead of actually being a pirate.
I think Hurricane is probably the best example of this.

My favourite line from Santino stealing the sandwich, was "Haha, you lose!"
Should have known the guy was funny when he almost made Vince crack up in his debut.

Why didn't Bush think of that earlier? If Cena had just gone to the middle east right from the get go, it would've been over years ago.
