What are some good documentaries that you guys recommend?

I like mystery, unexplained or "legend" type things. But don't limit them to that cause I like a bunch of other stuff too. Also, ficticious documentaries will be good as well. Kind of like "The Last Broadcast" (about the Jersey Devil) or Blair Witch for a more mainstream one.

Also, when you list them, please explain them in like a sentence. Or I can just look them up on wikipedia. whatever.

The 7-Up Series is pretty interesting.

Also pretty much anything on the Greenland Shark or Megalodon. Well tbh any underwater documentary interests me. :$

My Best Fiend. A documentary by Werner Herzog, the famous German director, tracing his working relationship with the actor / madman / genius Klaus Kinski!

Its funny, shocking and very emotional.

The On-set footage of Kinski loosing the plot during the filming of a scene is worth the price alone.

Planet Earth is great..

Grizzly Man and March of the Penguins (insert wife joke) are good for naturey shit..

Scratch is my personal favorite documentary of all time.. It's about the history of "scratching" vinyl..

I always thought Grizzly Man was less about the bears and more about the crazy idiot who got eaten by them. Nonetheless, it's an interesting flick.

Nothing to do with anything you mentioned but Hoop Dreams is a pretty obvious one

I Like Killing Flies. Like watched it last night and was very interesting. Like wasn't about much. This one guy who is somewhat crazy runs a restaurant in New York. There are like 900 things on the menu, and he makes up random dishes like macaroni and cheese pancakes. He also lives by his own rules, and will kick out people from his restaurant if guy doesn't like em. Like camera work was shoddy, like framerate was weak and shit would skip like on cell phone camera. But mad interesting where not all that much happens, just he is super interesting guy.

The latest Attenborough series about Tigers is emmense. They trained Elephants to follow a family (cant think of the proper word) of tigers around, and carry and put down cameras in and around them. The cameras are camoflaged like trees.

Whats significant, is it follows the real life of the animals. There is no human interraction during the 2 years of making, so they are being completely natural. Its amazing to see the difference in the actions of the animals when they aren't sensing human in close proximity.

Im also about to watch a doc about a guy who is partially made of wood.

Fun night.
