Former TNA Superstar Sues the Company; Details

Written by: Kyle Faust - March 21st, 2008

- Konnan has filed a lawsuit against TNA Wrestling where he accuses the company of racial discrimination and alleges that "higher-ups" in the company were using drugs. TNA has 30 days to respond to the lawsuit, which has been in the works for months now. Konnan was actually hoping that the legal papers would be served to TNA officials on Christmas Eve, but his lawyers didn't have the case ready yet. The former TNA Superstar claims he witnessed drug use by TNA office members and says he has a long list of witnesses who will verify his racial discrimination allegations.

While we haven't seen the actual lawsuit yet, it's believed Jeff Jarrett is one of the main targets. It's also believed Vince Russo and Dutch Mantel are named. Konnan is being legally represented by Cary Ichter, the attorney who represented several pro wrestlers in a discrimination suit against WCW and Turner Broadcasting. Ichter is also representing Michael Benoit, who is said to be considering filing a lawsuit against WWE over Chris Benoit's suicide.

I don't usually blindly come to a conclusion about things without knowing at least some of the facts, but I think Konnan is a piece of shit and full of shit. TNA paid for his mother fucking hip surgery and (I think even ran benefit wrestling shows to help Konnan raise money and awareness to get a new liver and to pay for the surgery) then when TNA doesn't give Konnan a raise he quits and sues citing racism. There are enough minorities in TNA to make me believe that this is shit. Racism my ass, Konnan is just one of those people who like to cry racism any time he doesn't get what he wants, I thinks.

Thoughts?

TNA lent him the money, then wanted him to pay them back.

Either way though, if Konnan needs evidence that the "higher ups" are on drugs all he needs to do is tape an episode of iMPACT! then play it in court. Bang instead money.

Well, he's a wrestler. In WWE/TNA logic, this makes perfect sense. Expect him to wrestle at BFG in a "Methadone on a pole" match.

God Konnan sucks. Hogan of Mexico my ass. How was TNA racist against him? He had a fairly high profile program while he was there and injured no less.

Well, he's delusional, overrated, and Latino. That's pretty much the definition of a MExican Hogan.

I'm thinking Konnan is a pyromaniac... he sees a bridge and he just has to burn it.

History:

After experimenting with alternative food items, Glen Bell opened three Taco-Tia stands between 1954 and 1955, which he later sold to his partners. He then opened the first Taco Bell in Downey, California on March 21, 1962.

The first Taco Bell franchise was sold in 1964 and the company became public in 1969. In 1978, the chain was sold to PepsiCo. The chain was spun off along with Pepsi's other fast food restaurant holdings as Tricon Global Restaurants in October 1997. Tricon became Yum! Brands in May 2002.

The restaurant has locations primarily in the United States and Canada, but also operates outlets in several other markets.

Yeah, no mention of Mexico at all.

Dude, you're not reading between the lines. It was sold to Pepsico, and where do they get the water for their beverages? I rest my case.

Ironically the first Taco Bell opened in Mexico only recently.

Personally, I don't agree with people jumping all over Konnan for this. A person has the right to be treated with respect by his employer. Who knows what went on backstage? If Konnan can prove he was a victim of racial discrimination, more power to him.

Also, if he gets Vince Russo terminated somehow (miracle) then a lot of power to him.

Didn't Konnan show Bret Hart how to properly apply the sharpshooter?

That really is ironic. That means that they really did have to cross the border.

They get it from infested creeks across Western PA. I have photos.

Konnan is full of shit. He's told several people close to him that he wants to nail these guys to the wall for the money, and hopefully TNA will use that to their advantage.
