What would be the best way to go around getting tickets? By just taking a chance on getting good seats when they go on general sale or is it best to buy one of those package deals (yeah they're pretty expensive but I think they're quite reasonable for what they provide). Any past Wrestlemania goers have any helpful tips?

I've only been to one, and I'd say the travel packages are your best bet, being a fellow UK'er. They hardly ever sell out, and they usually go on sale before the regular ticket on-sale. If not, try ticketmaster, and use their will-call option, as I wouldn't risk having your tickets shipped overseas.

I figured the forms migh be the best bet of securing a decent seat and to make it a trip to remember. No point travelling half way across the world to make a half assed deal of it. Might asswell go all out.
I've been looking at the application forms for those package deals and it says: 'The Main Traveler on each Order Form must be 18 years or older. WrestleMania 23 Travel Packages will not be sold to individuals under 17 years that are traveling alone.'
Well I'm 17 now, but I will be 18 by the time of the event and the trip. Do you think this would be an issue? I have about £1000 saved in my account right now and I'll keep on saving so I really fancy doing Mania next year.
Packages are available from Wednesday (April 2nd) 'til June 6th

I've got a mate over there now, who always goes and can't order it cos his card is back here, so i'm trying to get it.
Here's what I've found out:
They mail all the existing customers and offer it to them first, then they will write to all us commoners
Don't worry, they don't sell out of these seats.
I've gone 3 times, twice on packages and once on ticket alone
I would advise unless you can afford the best package, get the cheapest, only because then you'll be on tiered seating which is a better view, if you are more than 10 rows back on the floor, you are screwed.
I ordered my tickets the 3rd time via a 3rd party website, yeah I paid over the odds for them, but I knew where the seat was and got the ticket within a week.

Ah thanks.
So we people who've never ordered before won't be able to order today?
Frees up my day a bit as I was planning on just refreshing WWE.com all day lol.

I think it's unlikely, don't quote me on that though

Faxed off my order form this morning. My friend couldn't come with due to money issues. So looks like I'm off to Houston alone for Mania, which is exactly a year from today!! :D Got a Platinum package, can't wait. Just gotta wait for the confirmation email now then it's official. Sure I'll meet plenty of fans over the few days I'll be there, so should be cool.

I'm fancying this too, went to 17 in Houston and had an amazing time. Might be time to revisit the place. I'm just not booking through Thomas Cook this time!

Mate, I went to Toronto for 18 on my own. It's not a bad thing at all. You meet lots of people, just remember to wear a British flag or something at Axxess or whatever, the Brits will flock to you like...er...sheep.

Lol. Yeah I've heard nothing but good things about going alone, you're not exactly going to get lonely there. I'll wear my Welsh flag :D Although I don't know if the Brits would still flock to me then :P

I am debating on whether or not to get one of the fancy packages since I am only 5 hours and 14 minutes (Mapquest time) away from Houston. I just don't know with all the expenses of driving and staying in a shitbag motel would be cheaper in the long run plus you get all the cool perks with the travel package (event chair, HoF tix, etc.). I have a feeling the Funks are going in the HoF in 2009, which would be cool as hell for me.

Well you can order all those seperate, but the package is easier. But with convenience comes expense. So I dunno...the packages might be better suited for long distance travellers. Like you said, you can easily just drive and get a shitty motel. If you're not fussy about where you sleep and that...

Hey guys...Joined up to these forums just to ask about this!
Me and the other half REALLY REALLY wanna go mania 25 next year, we are looking at the platinum travel package. But like you have all said, they are only going out first to those who have been before.
Have you been before team sheep? If not where did you get your form? I'm just so worried we are gonna miss the chance and them all be sold out!
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks guys

They won't sell out, they will just make the perameters bigger, don't worry. They never sell out of the platinums, hence why you see tickets for the front blocks on sale on ebay.
Sheep - If you are going by yourself, there is a VERY good chance you'll be front row, as they will put you in the first avaiable slot, bravo sir.

Yeah Sheep, I know people that go by themselves, basically it means your bound to get a better seat than if there's 2 of you, you will just be slotted into the closest avaiable seat

That really isn't bad considering what you get. May do the same if I get a job lined up ready for when I'm made redundant and use my pay-off to go :D

Yep is a pretty good deal IMO. Especially with the exchange rate at the moment and everything. Guaranteed great seats for Mania, tickets to every other activity over the weekend, plus accomodation at what I hear is always a very nice hotel is pretty decent.
