..and the dubbed over 'for UK viewers' commentary mentioned the Taker vs Edge match and referred to Edge as having a 'good 5 & 1 record at Wrestlemania'.
Is this what they are saying in general about it, I thought this was the battle of the undefeated streaks etc etc.

At the start of the feud edge said he was undefeated at wrestlemania, strange..

Edge lost last year at Mania. But no one has atually beat him. He lost a ladder match, but in his mind it's the same as a dq loss, he still hasn't been defeated. I promise thismakes sense.

They can do whatever they want, they're WWE. Remember how many times Chris Masters Masterlock streak was broken before it was officially broken by Lashley?
Haha. Memories.

Edge is not undefeated at WrestleMania. You win, you lose or you draw. Edge was not a winner in a match where there was a winner, hence he is a loser. Is the definition of being undefeated that you have never lost? If it still is, then Edge is not undefeated at WrestleMania.
Now, it's all well and good to say "but he has never lost a match by pinfall or submission!" But fuck, how many matches has Edge won by pinfall or submission at WrestleMania? Two. Only one of those (vs. Booker T at WrestleMania X-8 in his hometown) was contested under normal rules.
Congratulations, Edge. You have one win at WrestleMania that is relevant to the kind of match you are working at WrestleMania. This would be fantastic if Edge was talking himself up as a great WrestleMania competitor, and the commentators were pointing out the flaws in his argument (WrestleMania loss; style of matches, etc.), but they're not.
The focus of this feud should be on two questions: From Edge's perspective, it should be whether or not he can end The Undertaker's streak? From The Undertaker's perspective, it should be whether or not he can be the first man to wrestle the World Heavyweight Title away from Edge (his first reign was ended by forfeit)? Edge should be teasing that he cares more about the World Heavyweight Championship than his WrestleMania record, and will get himself counted out or DQ'd to keep it.
World Heavyweight Title first; streak second.

None? :?:
JBL broke it for a soldier on one of their Middle East tours, and Super Crazy missile dropkicked Chris Masters when he had Ron Simmons in the hold, I believe.
I think technically Edge is still undefeated. Why have Edge get "injured" during the match then have Kennedy win only to lose it to Edge later on when they could just have him win the damn thing in the first place.

He shouldn't have been in the match. I remember thinking that they should have had Edge and Randy Orton break-up in time for WrestleMania (they had lost the World Tag Team Championship to John Cena and Shawn Michaels), and put Edge over there.
They could have inserted another two guys into Money in the Bank, or just left it at six men. Edge and Randy Orton never really felt "in" the match, anyway. Heading into WrestleMania, it was all Mr. Kennedy this or CM Punk that, in regards to the MITB.

Was fairly certain that both Cena and HBK broke it.

Nice!
When I start a promotion, Ill give you a spot on the booking team, but I there will be serious limits in place to prevent a Goldberg streak going to a Basham.
Speaking of shows in the UK... I'm going to the Raw taping, just wondered if anyone knows how how long it lasts? If they do heat tapings as part of raw, might have to accidently go late

Pointing out flaws in this storyline is like shooting fish in a barrel. And Noid is packing dynamite.

Dude, no offence, but you would look at the talent at your disposal, not see Kevin Nash, and job out everyone to a water cooler.

Actually, I think you two would balance each other out.
Unless, of course, it comes to blows.

We'd still need a third guy to make sure we didn't get too involved in a Chavo Guerrero push, though. Care to join?

Jordan X has told us what he thinks, so we can now close the book on this one...:p
The WWE have no clue how they are building this. They push Edge as undefeated at WrestleMania, then they don't. It's a mess, and as KK said, there are a lot of wholes in the story.

During the show on both occasions JR and King freaked (froke?) out and said the Masterlock had officially been broken, wether or not it makes sense. And, Booker T broke it during an untelevised battle royal at Wrestlemania several years ago. Don't remember the Cena/HBK instances.

Ah, yes, Booker T countered out of it to win the pre-show Battle Royal, that's right.
JR and King are just horrible commentators. I'd take anything they say with a grain of salt. I think JR said he can't remember any brother/sister combinations in WWE history once.
Cena low blowed Chris Masters once, I believe, and Masters shoved Cena out of the hold before Cena could technically break it. Shawn Michaels managed to bar the hold during one of their matches, I think, by getting to the ropes and climbing over, forcing Masters to break.
That's just going by memory, though, I could be off.
