Fuck right. How did JR get in first? (Other than the fact that it's the WWE hall of fame, someting that means noting to them.)

I'm glad Gordon Solie got in. JR was pushing so hard for him, and I was beginning to think he would not get in.
Funny how Solie practiced a type of commentary that the WWE is not too big on, didn't he?

I'm pretty sure that Triple H also liked the guy, and since he's fucking the VP of something or other that MIGHT have something to do with Solie getting in.

it would have been nice to see Solie and Joey Styles commentate together. Both are the best play-by-plays ever.

I wasn't aware that Triple H was VP of anything, to be honest. I hope you weren't being sarcastic with that might, by the way. No one here has said anything about why or how Solie got in.
You know, despite being arguably the greatest play-by-play man ever.

Definately a legend and deserves a spot. One thing I will say and that I've mentioned before and I'll probably take some heat for is that his style and a lot of other styles of that time just don't hold up today for me personally. I get bored with that slow announcing. But the man was an innovator and one of the nice ones in the business.

I agree, I do think Solie is a legend and deserves a HOF induction, but I don't think he could call a fast paced match.

Solie would be great at calling main event matches in the WWE, though. Randy Orton with his chinlock army, and just the general pace of WWE matches. But you'd probably have a point with him not being able to keep up with faster matches.
While it seems very crowded, I'd love to see a dream five-man commentary team of Gordon Solie, Joey Styles, Mike Tenay, JBL and Bobby Heenan. You know, for a show or something. Gordon Solie and Joey Styles as your play-by-play guys, with Styles taking the lead in the faster paced matches, Solie calling the slower ones, with JBL being lead colour guy, and Heenan just quipping in every now and then. Mike Tenay is removable, but he is great as an odd wheel, who just chimes in with interesting facts about the wrestlers every now and then.

I think Sollie could keep up no problem. He called wrestling at the pace the match went. Most matches require a lot of filibustering then. The matches we as slow (or as fast) as he was.

That's a good point. I will confess to not really hearing any of his commentary, and only researching the style.

He's not the VP of anything.
He's FUCKING the vp of something.
Also, from what I've read late in his lifetime Gordon said some pretty mean things about Vince, which would be a huge roadblock in getting into the Hall of Fame.

Ah, sorry, I misinterpreted what you said. Saw "fucking the VP of something" and I thought you meant "fuck, he's got some kind of position with the company."
