View Full Version : Nancy Benoit speaks from the GRRRAVE. Not really, but...

There was text messages from last May that was from Nancy on Chris Benoit's cell phone. She basically called the Wellness Policy a joke. This was taken from the Observer.

Nancy Benoit complained of Chris Benoit's steroid abuse and referred to WWE's Wellness Policy as a "joke" in text messages retrieved from her husband's cell phone. "I will not accept this steroid induced roller coaster ride of emotional abuse," Nancy wrote in a text message on May 9, 2007. "Ignoring the problem or running away isn't going to help you face it. You need professional (help) and only if you're fully honest about all of it."

In a text message later that day, she mentioned WWE's wellness program. "Get off the stuff," she wrote. "It's obvious (you're on). I'm probably not the only one who can see and we both know the wellness program is a joke."

If this is true, then it's nothing we didn't know before.

Or maybe she was attributing his mental illness symptoms to something that wasn't really a factor? Like the entire media seemed to do before his body was revealled to be sans steroids.

His body wasn't revealed to be sans steroids. It was revealed to have synthetic testosterone, a steroid. Sorry. Not only that, but Benoit was involved in the Signature pharmacy scandal that erupted after his death, and then there was his doctor, who prescribed him large amounts of steroids.

Sorry to be the one to introduce reality into things, but....

Benoit was on steroids. He was on steroids and while his brain was determined to be be damaged, it doesn't account for the paranoia he was said to experience for a year before his death. Steroids do. Steroids don't just cause roid rage, they also cause mood swings, bouts with depression, bipolar mania, paranoia, and even borderline schizophrenic behaviour. These are things alzheimers doesn't do to you, and a brain resembling an alzheimers patient doesn't completely explain.

I'd also add that the tox screen actually showed levels high enough that Benoit would have had to have actually taken them fairly recently.

When his ratio was 59:1 of testosterone to epitestosterone.....yeah he was juicing

And even the WWE press release that said there were no steroids in his system mentioned the presence of synthetic testosterone. That was funny enough. Watching DT rant about the news media not retracting it was even better, though.

Is there anything in which you don't have a degree?

The only thing you need to have to know better in this case is the ability to read, and not believe what WWE tells you.

I know you've got the former, can't believe you wouldn't have the latter. No degree necessary.

ELVIS DIDN'T DO NO DRUGS!

1 - There are no drugs in pro wrestling.

2 - WWE is never wrong.

Apparently, that information given came from someone with no attachment to the real world.

I am slightly amazed that with all the coverage, you couldn't even stumble upon some information. Just by accident, even.

I mean, TPWW even.

First of all, that's a load of shit. You criticize this site -- and pretty much everyone else -- of being wrong about everything at any given time. Talk about your double standard, jack.

Second, I never CARED about the whole mess. My only problem with the acclaimed Benoit Tragedy is the sad reaction it received. That's why, for the most part, I stayed out of it as best I could. Granted, I went off on a tyrade when ppl started condemning the man before they knew what they were fucking talking about, but after the police made their statement, I basically stopped caring about the event itself. The last I heard was from the media, believe it or not, that said his body was found to be void of non-prescribed drugs other than Xanax, or whateve his wife was prescribed. After that, with the exception of reading about his brain scan, I stopped caring.

That is all.
