Hey yo, I don't normally go about making topics and such in the wrestling forum, but I'm out $50 and I wanna talk about Wrestlemania XX, damnit.

They said WM XX is "where it all begins again", and begin again it did. For me, it all started again. The love, the hate, the markdom, the smarkdom, the joy, the pain... I FELT IT ALL TONIGHT! You'll have to excuse me if I'm rambling or even ranting like a lunatic, but I just saw one of the most beautiful things I've ever born witness to and I'm still riding the adremaline rush.

This Wrestlemania did not live up to the hype. That's ok, though, as the second coming of Jebus H Christ, Himself, couldn't live up to that much hype. No, WM XX didn't live up to the hype, but it was a great show nonetheless. I don't know about anyone else who watched the show, but I feel like I got my money's worth tonight. And coming from a broke-as-hell Canucklehead trying to complete a degree in the States (which is verrry expensive), that means a lot. Well, I think I'll take this opportunity to point out my likes and dislikes of each match.

WWE US Title Match
- The Big Show vs. John Cena

Funky's Likes: John Cena Picking up the title. Believe it or not, he's gotten pretty over without ever having a title. John Cena leaning backward and avoiding the haymaker from Show was a nice touch. Cena Out smarting the Ref was a great finish.

Funky's Dislikes: Big Show dominated just a bit too much, but what can you do?

World Tag Team Titles Match
- Booker T & RVD vs. Jindrak & Cade vs. La Resistance vs. The Dudley Boyz

Funky's Likes: The Champs retained and made the title look like they're worth a crap. La Resistance's new gear looks sharp.

Funky's Dislikes: That god-awful music Booker T is using has those RVD sound bits in it now. The match wasn't Wrestlemania worthy.

Chris Jericho vs. Christian

Funky's Likes: Great match, and the ending solidifies Jericho as a face. How about that almost psycho kiss betwwen Jericho and Trish? Jericho is going to have lots of material for trash talk now (remember Eddie & Chyna or HHH & Steph?).

Funky's Dislikes: Trish sucked as a heel before, so I'm skeptical about now. No more Jericho/Christian tag teams. :'(

The Rock & Mick Foley vs. Randy Orton, Batista, & Ric Flair

Funky's Likes: Mick doing the job, but still coming out on top. Orton getting the clean pin. Ric's "I don't think so, motherfu</>cker" was classic.

Funky's Dislikes: Rock has lost his timing in the ring; definitely not up to par with his match last year.

Evening Gown Match
- Torrie Wilson & Sable vs. Stacy Keibler & Miss Jackie

[b]Funky's Likes:[b/] It was short.

Funky's Dislikes: I'd rather not get into ranting about how I think that valets belong on the outside of the ring.

WWE Cruiserweight Title Match
- Cruiserweight Open

Funky's Likes: The cruiserweights getting airtime. Ultimo Dragon got a pin before being jobbed.

Funky's Dislikes: <font color=red>The match not being a free-for-all.</font> Ultimo slipping twice during his intro. :'( My dream not coming true and Ultimo getting knocked out early. Mysterio's Superhero costumes (what the hell, man?).

WWE Women’s Title Match
- Victoria vs. Molly Holly (If Molly loses, she loses her hair)

Funky's Likes: Molly trying to run after losing.

Funky's Dislikes: Molly getting shaved all the way bald. The barber sitting there like a dumbass handing the wrong woman the shears.

- Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg
Special Referee: Steve Austin

Funky's Likes: uh... the crowd reactions.

Funky's Dislikes: The match taking forever to start, and then sucking the whole way through. Austin being involved. Hell, this whole damn feud sucked.

WWE Tag Team Titles Match
- Rikishi & Scotty Too Hotty vs. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin vs. The Basham Brothers vs. The APA

Funky's Likes: WGTT's performance.

Funky's Dislikes: The champs retaining. The dance routine (it's old, move on  ). This match had the exact same stipulations as the Raw one. :n:

WWE Title Match
- Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle

Funky's Likes: This was a spectacular match. Eddie outsmarting Angle with the faked injury. Good ol' fashioned mat wrestling.

Funky's Dislikes: er... I'll get back to you when I can think of one.

The Undertaker vs. Kane

Funky's Likes: Deadman Taker. Paul Bearer (I guess the McRumour was McTrue afterall). Kane stopping the tope rope move.

Funky's Dislikes: Kane's fear playing too much of a role in the match. Undertaker's hair was too short (hair extentions, anyone? :?: ). Taker's costume basically staying the same as biker Taker, except with the old symbol on it.

Triple Threat World Title Match
- Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit

Funky's Likes: Benoit wins! The match was excellent. The moonsault off the top. Benoit's bump. King saying "Where did Benoit come from? Did the EMTs throw him into the ring?" HHH tapping out.

Funky's Dislikes: HHH no selling Benoit's punches most of the match. Shawn's constant over-blading (I swear he's gonna bleed to death one of these days). The announcer saying that Benoit's from Atlanta, Georgia (I think I misheard, and I hope I did).

Thoughts? Flames?

I thought for sure Brett would come out. Either to super kick shawn, or celebrate with Eddie and Benoit.

The only surprise, was how dumb UT looked. I thought the Biker gimmick was over. Now hes a Biker and Cowboy.

The 'Playboy' match was better then I expected.

I think that they did the Taker enterance and costume right, His hair could have been longer, but I don't think they should have given him all those accessories that they did last time.

You missed out Eddie's car as one of Funky's likes, that car was hot.

Scotty Too Hotty really couldn't dance, and they did't get much of a reaction from the fans either, I think they stood upo, but they weren't cheering or anything. It went on too long, but they did have to try and make it last as close to the five hours as they could.

Yeah the Cruiserweight match should have been a free for all, because people were getting eliminated every other minute with pinfalls, and in a real one on one match they wouldn't have been, especially the first person who was elminated. and the green mist thing was bullshit, they should have got someone else to be in it, who was actually going to wrestle.

Well, Bret (only 1 T) did confirm he wasn't going to be there in the Sun. I don't blame him, but I still hold hope for him saying his one last good-bye.

Best match of the night (entertainment wise) was Rock/Foley vs Evolution
Worst match was the Playboy tag and Smackdown Fatal 4 Way

and the zoom-in on Hamburglar and Grimace was PRICELESS. And to add icing on the cake, Grimace tried to hide the cheeseburger. Or was it a sandwich?

The You Sold Out chants made me mark out for hating Lesnar, then I started rooting for Goldberg legitimately. I was actually hoping Goldberg would stay in the WWE :( Mark out moment.

And Triple H looked ridiculous with those white boots and that bloated body of his.

And Greg The Hammer Valentine looked like Triple H

I put this in the official Mania thread, but this seems to be where everyone congregated ;)

Here's my thoughts:

I've been a wrestling fan since 1990 (I was eight), and have seen every Wrestlemania since then (except 13), and this one was - without a doubt - the worst I've ever seen.

There were a couple of bright spots (the top title matches, Xtian/Y2J, Paul f'ing Bearer, the set, the Hall of Fame ceremony), but for the most part it was godawful, IMO.

- "Open" <s>=</s> "Turmoil," you ignorant sons-of-bitches (@ WWE writers)! "Open" = "10 guys flying all over the ring doing sick high-flying lucha moves."

- I'm not sure what that was that "rose" tonight, but it sure as f</>uck wasn't "The Dead." Literally, the only difference between this Undertaker and the one that got buried alive four months ago was this one had a hat.

- The two Tag Title matches were almost EXACTLY THE SAME. Do us a favor, and condense it to one big eight-team match and save us the extra time.

- Akio never even setting foot in the ring pissed me off to no end. I was looking forward to his appearance more than any of the other cruisers, and the fact that he gets eliminated by the f</>ucking mist...

- The crowd dogging Brock. Good for him for giving them the finger. Somebody mentioned earlier that it was like an ECW crowd, except ECW crowds came for the wrestling. That's absolutely right. I don't blame Brock for not putting his all into the match. Sure, the match sucked, but those fans got exactly what they f</>ucking deserved. If he doesn't want to be there, he shouldn't have to be, just because you want him to be.

- A Playboy Evening Gown Match that TECHNICALLY ended before it started. An Evening Gown Match ends when one participant is stripped of her gown. Before the bell even rang, everyone but Jackie had been stripped, so Jackie and Stacy technically won the match.

- I know I keep coming back to the Cruiser Open (this is what pissed me off most, so forgive me for devoting three "-"s to it), but WTF was up with not including Paul London or any of the RAW cruisers? And that rumored Dean Malenko entrance made me expect even more from a match that, aside from a couple of cool spots, was a major disappointment.

- "Where It All Begins Again" sure looked a hell of a lot like "What We've Been Seeing For The Last Couple Of Years."

RAW and SmackDown are going to have to be hella good this week, or else I may have to do something rash. I never thought I'd walk away from wrestling, but...

Dont think Bret will ever come back.

I wasn't too impressed with the show. Dunno, I liked Eddie/Kurt, Jericho/Christian, and the main event was as good as expected.

I thought the best was Jericho and Christian though.

Serously, for some reason the only moment I marked out for was the opening video where they showed Vince, Shane and Shane's baby.

Does anyone think that Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg, was practically put together just before the show? Maybe they had a change of plans.

I know Goldberg could of done better and Lesnar. Sure some of you may say Goldberg can't wrestle. But I'v seen better from him.

Something was not right.

I'm interested in Trish being a heel, since I think its been since '01 since shes been one. But yet another relationship started because of a guy basically feuding with a woman, then being with her.

OKay, I'll post my reactions in here too. After about 12 hours removed from the PPV, I can honestly say that it was one of the BEST BEST BEST Mania's Ever. Okay, let's run down the matches.

Cena vs Big Show: Great opener to start the show. Cena is so over, espeially in the hip hop cities like N.Y. Great finish here as Cena kind of pulled an Eddie and faked out the ref to win. I love how Show kicked out of the first FU and then John nailed him with the knucks and gave him another FU for the pin.

Raw Tag Match: Yeah Booker's and RVD's Music is awful. Anyway, the match was decent and I wish Cade and Jindrack could of won but whatever.

Jericho vs Christian: Excellent match between the two. Christian's reverse tornado DDT off the top was great. Oh and I marked out for the Texas Cloverleaf big time. I kind of knew Trish was turning when she came down and I got to say, Evil Trish is Hott as hell.

Randy Orton vs Rock and Co** Connection: :D :D Oh yeah mother *******. This was my first markout seizure of the night, but not the last. Flair's people's elbow was classic and the Rock getting up and stopping it was even better. I didn't hear Flair say "I don't think so mother ****e***" though. Where was this Funky? Anyway let's move to one of the greatest moments of the night. Foley hit the double arm DDT on Orton and I think he went for the Claw and then *BAM* RKO out of nowhere for the pin. Here is me  . Great stuff.

Evening Gown Sucked. The End.

Cruiserweight Open/ Yeah WTF with not letting them go all at once. This really pissed me off in the begginning, but I started liking the match after a few minutes. Kidman's SSP was a markout moment and Rey did some sick moves as well. Great to see Chavo pick up the pin. His music Rules BTW.

Lesnar vs Goldberg: HMMM, I guess I'm the only one that liked the match. The NYC crowd really made the match historic and I loved every minute of it. The match did get slow at times, but the "Sellout" chants kept it alive. Even though I despise Austin, I loved the double stunners. And Brock flipping the crowd was a classic.

Molly vs Victoria: The match was nothing special and I feel bad for Molly right now. Did they have to shave her all the way for god sakes?

Smackdown Tag Title: Okay, I was really pissed here. Nice way to get No Reaction from The Worm Scotty you fk'n clown. Yeah, WGTT should of won this by far. I don't know what they were thinking here.

Eddie vs Kurt: WOW WOW WOW WOW. Awesome match and match of the night. Great mat wrestling here and just a terrific wrestling match all together. Markout Moment for Eddie unlacing his boots and then when Kurt went for the Ankle Lock, the boot came off. FK'N CLASSIC. And then Eddie rolls him up, with his feet on the ropes, for the pin. LMAO. Great stuff.

Taker vs Kane: LOL, I'm the one that coined "Texas Ranger Undertaker" phrase. HAHA. I said it in the other thread that I didn't really care for him returning anyway, so I wasn't dissapointed. The match was slow but I liked how Kane blocked Taker's rope walking move. I hope he goes away very soon though, cause I hate Taker.

Benoit is The Man: Yeah, who didn't lose it here? I went absolutely nuts when That Assclown Tapped his Ass Out. About Fk'n Time jackass. Oh man, great match from all three guys. I loved the way Benoit flew back into the ring out of nowhere and broke up the count after Trips was about to win. I really liked the table spot from the outside of the ring. And did you guys notice not a single chair was used as a weapon throughout the whole PPV. At least I think. Anyway, Benoit rolling into that second crossface was just an OMG moment. Oh and the sharpshooter by Benoit was great too.

So overall, great PPV and I felt like I got my money's worth. Great Job WWE :y: :y:

I had alot of accurate predictions for the night, and that makes me happy (most of it is what I wanted to happen)

I predicted Rock n Sock wrong, and Goldberg/Brock wrong. I love The Rock and all and I wanted them to win, but that match went fine and i really wasn't going to cry in the morning if Rock n Sock lost. Rocky, I love you, but tonight it was all about Benwoot.

-Lesnar got what he ****in deserves. You don't plan to leave then go wrestle in front of the NYC crowd. The match actually did make me mark out for Austin stunning Lesnar

-Eddie winning, awesome

-Taker returning. To be honest I don't give a shit what he looks like, the whole premise that he is the deadman and doing all of the old school stuff made me mark out. That probably the Taker fan inside me. The entrance was amazing.

-And for the true mark out moment of the evening. I paused the TV on when HHH was tapping and stood there in sheer joy. Benoit finally got his, and it was great having Eddie and him in the ring as the show went off the air.

I kept yelling at idiots that couldn't sit their ass down in theatre. I feel bad because one guy was with his son and I told him to sit the **** down. As a result I missed some of the intro. Loose Cannon, Flair's "I don't think so, motherfu</>cker" is at the point where Rock is crawling to tag Mick in, and Flair cuts him off, then smashes his face in the corner. It was kinda hushed, but I had the volume up pretty high, so it was clear to me.

Seemed weird because even if a wrestler does move generally speaking they are still refered to as being from their birth city or city where they grew up: IE: Chris Jericho.
