Since HHH taped out CLEANLY to Chris Benoit at the biggest show of all time, my question is, do you still hate the guy? Or is he the same old HHH

I never hated him. I was annoyed with the politics, but he still entertained me from time to time.

However, the fact that he was willing to put over someone relatively unproven (yes, I know he's been around for almost two decades, but he's unproven as a main-eventer) and decidedly NOT a member of the Kliq did wonders for my impression of him.

I don't hate him, but I greatly disliked him. Now I just dislike him. ;)

It won't matter because as soon as he wins it again whether its next month or by the end of the summer, there will be someone who will bitch about it...

Yeah I mean occasionally he has definately deserved it, but now its to the point that he can do no good in alot of people's eyes...

Well, aside from the fact that he's held it for the majority of time since it was handed to him back in 2002 I can see why people get tired of him being champ. That, and he doesn't wrestle as much or as well as he was in 2000.

I didn't say it wasn't really derserved or that i didn't understand why, but it just gets old ya know?

Plus he didn't wrestle well last year because he was injured most of 2003, but I think he's been wrestling fine since december?

But understand it just gets old hearing people bitch about him?

So if we don't like something we should just keep quiet like it's all good?

If you don't have anything new to say about the matter... no!

but the same things get said over and over is my point...

That's because the same things keep happening over and over. Benoit's the first guy in a LONG time that HHH has put over. And believe me, I'm grateful for it. But that still doesn't excuse the shit he's pulled in the past.

But all negativity aside, I'm going to enjoy the moment. My favorite wrestler finally won the World Title, and at Wrestlemania, no less. My day is made.

Triple H is still somewhat entertaining on the mic, but man have you looked at him lately? He's getting chubby.

I know that HHH is a selfish controlling asshole...

But when I'm still hearing about Booker T and RVD getting screwed, I don't give a shit anymore! I've gotten over it!

I'm glad HHH won the title back in December now, because it really does make it mean more that Benoit won the belt from him than if he had beaten just about anyone else.

Look I understand why people bitch about HHH honestly, but it does get old! At this point in time, there is absolutely no need to do any bitching about HHH! In a few months, he will probably get the title back, we all know it but are gonna bitch about it probably. As I said earlier, if there is nothing new to report as far as HHH being a selfish controlling asshole, why bitch about it at the moment?

All wrestlers have big egos

Hogan, Austin, Michaels, and Goldberg were all as bad or worse than HHH (backstage politics wise) in their prime.

But last night he did the right thing and put on a really good main event so props to him

Tonight was the first time in about 4 years that I actually wanted HHH to win.
Benoit is boring and will be a crappy champion.
HBK is well....he's a flaming homo these days.
I wanted HHH to win for once...and the one time u want him to win....HE LOSES!

Benoit winning cleanly pissed me off and my god is Raw gonna be boring now.
I fear the reprocussions of this and the botching of Takers return.

Look out WWE

Neah...i didnt hate him just the fact he was a champion for that long, and i think it is cool to finally see Benoit as an Champion. :y:

I thought the main event proved why Triple H deserves the title. Classic match imo.

He's still a dick though.

I wasn't bothered if Triple H kept the title at Mania. I wanted Shawn to win, and Benoit's got it? He's a good technical wrestler, fair do's. But this is World Wrestling Entertainment, not World Wrestling. Cruiserweights (even spot-fests) are entertaining. Seeing someone lock in an armbar for 5 minutes at a time is just plain boring.

Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero have no place being the brands champions. Benoit because he's not entertaining, Guerrero because he is too small and is too hokey comedy. Same with RVD. Too small. Booker T, fair enough. Give him the World title.

I can't help seeing the irony in that in the one match where a lot of people wouldn't of minded seeing Triple H win, he loses.

And I never hated Triple H either. I respected all he had done for the company, I just disagreed with his backstage politics.

You know, he DID defend it against RIC FLAIR that night. Why people keep banging on about that is beyond me.

What Dave said. As long as HHH doesn't win it at Raw or the next PPV, i gained a little bit of respect for him for doing what's right for business. Some of you say Benoit is boring, but if i remember correctly, Bret Hart was the same kind of wrestler, albeit a little better on the mic, but still look what kind of champ he was. Give Benoit a chance and see what kind of champ he can be.

I never said that it made up for it. But my point is that at the moment HHH is doing nothing that deserves to be bitched at. I just don't see the point about bitching about things that have already been bitched about.

And Benoit will make a fine champion. No one is claiming that he will be the next Rock or Austin. But I bet Benoit puts on a hell of a promo tonite. For me personally, whenever Benoit talks about the World Title, I enjoy it. Benoit's emotions when he talks about the World Title are real, and I really connect with that.

That's because it's the same fu</>cking scenario every show.

If you're happy with repetitive wrestling, but complaining about repetitive bitching, you've got issues.

lol, "this isn't world wrestling, it's world wrestling entertainment", well you do realize that they do need to change things up right? Once in a while a smaller, less mic-orientated Champion is needed. Not every champion should be a flashy bigshot, now is the era of the warrior, the guy who goes in night in and night out and gets his ass whooped and whoops ass. And guess what, if the Madison Square Garden fans told us anything, the fans are behind him as well. So for god's sake, shut the fuc</>k up.

I never hated him in the first place. Just because he tapped out doesnt mean that I will hate him for doing it. It just shows that now he might tap out in the future. I was actually hoping for the end to have HBK tapping finally.

I think Triple H just took a step in the right direction. Props to The Game. Michaels is next to tap out to that. They foreshadowed it.

God this is like Bret Hart all over again. I love the way the people have been selling the crossface lately. Finally, a submission move, who makes "guys who don't tap out" (HHH, Austin, Rock, Michaels, etc) tap out. It was like that with Bret when he was the man. Once you were in the Sharpshooter, you were DONE.

handed to him back in 2002

You're refering to the time he was given the title when Brock left Raw and decided to stay a smackdown only wrestler? I think that was just to get trips some heat. I didn't mind the fact that he was given the title, because they commented about it on the air. Bubba Ray Dudley even said to HHH's face that he didn't deserve the title. Just as long as it was in front of the camera doesn't bother me. Now if you're refering to the time he came back from his injury and mopped the floor with everybody.....yes, that sucked.

BTW, who's left with a title in Evolution? I think Orton still has his... This could be the downfall of Evolution. I'd love to see Orton do what Rock did to the Nation. He's gonna be huge.

What has HHH done in the last couple of months that deserves bitching? Nothing, really. This hasn't been the same scenerio since he last won the belt. He hasn't held anyone down, he just tapped to Benoit, and will probably lose in a ladder match at Backlash. I am not saying that he should be excused for what he's done in the past, but I just see no reason to bitch about him at the moment (i've said this like 5 times in this thread  )

Where did I say I am happy with repeatitive Wrestling by the way?

Well his hot new White Boots have helped ;)

Seriously I've never hated him. The politics thing has never gone down too well with me (especially since I'm a huge RVD mark) and he's been in the main event picture for too long in sustained length of time.
