Dark Match:

*Sonjay Dutt defeated Michael Judas.

Impact:

*Impact opens with TNA champion Samoa Joe dedicating his title win and reign to the fans. Scott Steiner comes out and awards Petey Williams his X-Division title shot, then starts ripping on Joe about Sacrifice. Kurt Angle comes out and announces that he is going to use his rematch clause on next week's Impact.

*In a backstage segment, Rhino and Christian Cage arrive at the Impact Zone. Team 3D show up and try to plant the seed in Rhino's head that he can't trust Cage. It ends up with Team 3D, James Storm and Robert Roode all attacking them and laying them out.

*TNA X-Division champion Jay Lethal pinned Johnny Devine. Petey Williams attacked Lethal and nailed a tornado DDT onto the title shot briefcase. Williams opened the briefcase and slammed Lethal's head inside it. He announces he is taking his title shot now, nails the Canadian Destroyer and pins Lethal for the belt. New X-Division champion.

*Matt Morgan comes to the ring and cuts a promo on the sacrifices he made for Jim Cornette, only to be dismissed as part of TNA management. Morgan promised to be a "Blueprint" (his OVW nickname) for giants in professional wrestling.

*Kaz and Super Eric capture the TNA Tag Team championships, defeated AJ Styles & Tomko and LAX in a Three-Way bout.

*Backstage, AJ Style protested to Jim Cornette that Super Eric and Eric Young are two different people (as they were supposed to defend against Eric Young, NOT Super Eric..anyone else have a Midnight Rider sized headache, yet?). AJ demands Cornette ask Young if he knows Super Eric and if he doesn't, then they deserve the titles back. Cornette agrees just to get them out of the office.

*Rhino and Christian defeated Team 3D. Rhino accidentally gored Cage but then Devon accidentally clotheslined Ray and Rhino scored the pin. Afterwards, 3D got into it with each other and security separated them.

*Jim Cornette, AJ Styles and Tomko come to the ring to resolve the Tag Team championship issue. Kaz and Super Eric come out and Super Eric acts as if he doesn't know who Eric Young is. Jim Cornette strips them of the tag titles, but won't give the belts back to Styles and Tomko. He says he will make an official decision next week.

*TNA Knockout champ Awesome Kong defeated Roxxi.

*Booker T & Sting & BG James defeated Robert Roode & James Storm & Kip James after Matt Morgan interfered. Booker gets upset Morgan got involved and has words with him and Sting.

Xplosion:

*Motor City Machineguns defeated Rellik & Black Reign.
-----------

Out of all of the tag teams in TNA they give the titles to fucking Kaz and Hurricane reject?

The most over tag team in TNA, MCM, say "WHERE THE FUCK IS OUR SHOT?"

Heros Welcome

I mean I'm glad that AJ and Tomko lost the belts, because that gives me hope that AJ can go on to have singles matches with Christian and Angle....BUT TO LOSE THEM TO SUPER ERIC AND KAZ!? :nono: my hope continues to fade for tna..

I was expecting something awful and zany to go down. To be honest, sounds like a perfectly fine and logical show. I mean, it does suck that The LAX like won three #1 Contender's positions for the TNA World Tag Team Championship, and then had to share the title shot with Kaz and Eric Young, but that can be grounds for a feud between them, I guess. Maybe The LAX would be better off with a heel turn? They are no longer the incredibly the hot act they once were (namely due to TNA's treatment of them).

The Motor City Machine Guns are great, but they have been losing pretty consistently because they are being punished for alleged attitude problems. I don't expect it to last two much longer, and that we'll see Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley got after the belts soon enough.

I feel they are going to do Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles at Sacrifice, so they had to get the belts off Tomko & AJ Styles. The LAX would have been a good choice, but Kaz sort of deserves a title, and as ridiculous as "Super Eric" is, it seems to be over with the iMPACT! fans (by the way, since Australia got iMPACT!, I know what people mean about them being annoying), and Young actually plays the character damn well. It's far from the worst thing on TNA. Eric Young also deserves a run with some title.

Petey Williams winning the X-Division Title in that fashion was actually pretty fucking cool. I was just asking about Steiner's X-Division Title shot, too. Williams getting the title as a reward for the make-over is justified, in my opinion. Besides, TNA has blown it with Lethal like three times now, even though it seems like they keep trying to get it right. And I just wasn't feeling Sonjay Dutt as a major antagonist in the X-Division. The same goes for Johnny Devine.

The Christian Cage/Rhino storyline is another one I saw coming, and one that actually makes sense. I'm not sure if they should go all-out, and have Rhino turn on Cage, but it might be an interesting story.

Throwing away Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle on iMPACT! will probably get a few complaints, but Angle and Joe have already fought repeatedly. They will always be a PPV caliber match, but by giving the fans one on iMPACT!, it might allow more people to get a taste for them as opponents. Plus, it might also draw some viewers. I know I'll be checking out the match. You've also got to get Angle out of the road before Steiner at the PPV, and it'll probably end up being a Televised Match of the Year candidate.

Sounds like TNA is heading towards the right direction, if you ask me.

I don't see not wanting to blade as having an attitude problem.

OK, my original post was to the incomplete tapings. Things are a bit different now.

I have no problem with Super Eric, but he should have just unmasked when he was asked to by Cornette, issue solved. He has now had his title win reversed because he's a moron. It makes Eric look stupid. It also goes back to the shitty treatment of the TNA World Tag Team Championship -- something AJ Styles & Tomko actually sort of helped.

Team 3D have imploded. Great. I have mixed feelings about it, actually. They just don't thrill me as a tag team, and who knows, maybe being singles guys they can do some interesting stuff. We've never really see a Ray vs. Devon feud, either. They got separated in the WWE, and I think we saw a beat-down or two, but that was wth gimmicks changes and never really went anywhere. Perhaps we're going to see Brother Devon & BG James vs. Brother Ray & Kip James? That would be...gross. But I can see why a mark could be interested in it.

I'm hoping the decision for TNA World Tag Team Titles is to put hold a Ladder Match between The LAX and The Motor City Machine Guns. Yeah, I know I'm dreaming.

Once again the Knockouts get to main event. Good work, TNA. :y:

Not doing what your boss tells you to do, even if you are in the right, can generally be perceived as an attitude problem. I also said "alleged." I have no clue what's going on, and you don't either.

I also heard there was more to the story than the blading incident.

I think it's more leading to Morgan turning heel.

I think it's more leading to Morgan turning heel.

I was thinking that, but Booker T arguing with Sting makes me worry. Of course, everyone argues with everyone in TNA.

I like Petey Williams cashing in his title shot the way he did against Lethal. Makes him look strong, and Petey is probably one of the most underrated wrestlers in the business today.

As for the "Super Eric" angle, I applaud TNA for putting together a logical angle with Eric Young. I mean, him not admitting who he really is at the risk of being stripped of his first TNA title in forever goes perfectly with his character: a fool.

The problem is that because Eric is made to look like an idiot, the angle as a whole also comes off as idiotic. Who gives a fuck about "Super Eric" and Kaz? Put the belts on LAX or MCMG.

If I made a Top 100 list of the things I've most hated watching in my wrestling viewing tenure, the usage of Eric Young by TNA would be top 5, easily. The man could've been the next Shawn Michaels.

Eric Young was fucking good and the break-out star of Team Canada at one stage. The next Shawn Michaels might be over doing it, but Xero, in particular, is selling him short.

I really don't mean Young as a wrestler but more of the way they've used him.

Seriously, TNA can't seem to get anyone built up well unless they were big in WCW or WWE and they just do a build based on an already established character. There are, of course, a few exceptions, and some start off well but they get fucked along the way but what they do is pretty unexcusable.

Blitz
04-15-2008, 11:27 PM
Agreed. If the guy had been built up as a cocky heel, I bet he'd be one of the top guys in the company by now.

In that case, we are in agreement.

Eric Young was jobbed out way too much, and then turned into a retard, rather than a capable wrestler who was maybe just a little paranoid. AJ Styles was turned into a complete goof, and anyone who feuds with Black Reign seems doomed.

I was watching TNA Lockdown and the sets and everything besides the ring and the announcers location made me feel like I was watching WCW Nitro.
