Is the name Epiphone actually pronounced Ep-ee-fone? I'd alway assumed the name was a play on epiphany, had have always pronounced it as such, but I've noticed EVERYONE says it the other way.

Like it rhymes (sorta) with telephone. Like I said, I always figured it was a play on Epiphany, and pronounced it as such, so this phone nonsense is kinda alien to me.

The name "Epiphone" is a combination of proprietor Epaminondas Stathopoulo's nickname "Epi" and "phone", Greek for "sound".

"Eh-pee-phone" is how my old guitar teacher used to pronounce it.
