Anyone here ever created their own wrestling tapes at home? I don't mean like recording PPV's and stuff, but like making random compilation tapes of Raw and Smackdown or of a certain wrestler for example.
I made a few 'Best of Raw and Smackdown' tapes in 2005, and watched them recently, was pretty cool looking at wrestling even just 3 years ago.
I seem to remember Xero saying a couple of years ago that he taped/s every Raw and Smackdown and has done since 1997 or something, must be pretty sweet.
Anyone else do this?
What home-videos have you made? Wrestling only please :p
Yeah, used to do this a lot, namely hot matches, funny shit, big moments etc. Had a bunch of them, Not done it since about 2002 though

Yeah I haven't done it since '05. I recently got a recordable DVD player though so I'll probably start again soon, random Raw/Smackdown/Adamle compilations and that.
Takes some effort though :P

I use to do that with WCW Nitro and Thunder. I eventually either taped over them or lost them etc... but the only one I remember was from around March/April 1999, there was a Fatal Four Way match for the Cruiserweight Title involving Rey Mysterio Jr, Billy Kidman, Psicosis and Juventud Guerrera. At the time I remember it being an awesome match.
I'd love to watch an entire episode of either Nitro or Raw back during '99, things have changed so much since then.

You can find whole Raws or Nitros from the attitude era on youtube or dailymotion

I actually went searching, found the Big Show vs Austin meet up. That could have been a huge Wrestlemania main event like Hogan Andre at that point, but the timing was such that they already had a huge main event booked.

I'm browsing too. Haven't found any full episodes of Raw yet but I've found loads of great clips I haven't seen for years. Just watched when Austin returns and takes out like the whole alliance in 2001. Good stuff.

I always thought it would have been wiser to have Austin stay with the WWF and have The Rock be the one to turn and go with the alliance
Yeah, I have most RAWs from late-97 to about 2004. Also have every SmackDown! from 1999 to 2004.
Sometimes I just go through the boxes and find gems. The best one being the Owen Memorial. Also recently found the RAW where Rock returned during the Invasion and sided with the WWF and Jericho's debut.

I actually made a tape for a buddy of mine since he's a big CM Punk fan. Since I tape most of the shows anyways, I had most everything of Punk in 2006. It was about 2 hours worth from his debut it ECW and included everything he did throughout the rest of 2006. He liked it enough that a CM Punk: ECW Champion one may be coming.

I used to back in the early 90's. I'd record wrestling every time it was on regardless of who was wrestling, then I'd keep track of each wrestler's win/loss record while recording specific events in a notebook.
Thankfully, I didn't continue doing it long.
LoL, I remember writing things like "Sid breaks Virgil's nose."

That's quality.
How come you don't do it any more?

I once made a tape of my wrestling action figure toys when I wanted to mess around with my new camera but had nothing to act with. It is painfully hilarious to watch.

PUT THE BAR STOOL DOWN! THOSE ARE FOR SITTING!
That's quality.

Got a TiVo. I still save something once in a great while, but the tapes were originally just for watching the next day, having them years later is just me being too lazy to tape over them.

I used to. All my tapes are matches, promos, or any moment I enjoyed. I stopped a couple of years ago because Raw and Smackdown stayed pretty consistent with boring to ass-tastic matches. Every now and then there's a great match, but meh.
Also, I remember Papa g's videos. The second one is the best.
