What are you teams needs??

What do you predict they will do??

Any potential trades in the works??

It's been talked about that the Saints might want to move up and trade picks with the Rams (2nd overall).. I don't want to trade up..

I say just get the best defensive player available at that 10th spot.. Also, with the additions of Vilma, Morgan, and McCrary, I have switched from strictly wanting a CB to more wanting a DT or LB..

I'm saying Rivers, Ellis, or Dorsey.. Though I wouldn't really be mad at a McKelvin or a DRC..

I just don't think they have to "move up" to get an impact player in the first round..

I'm leaning towards them trading our second round pick for Shockey.. Then getting an CB, LB, and DT (whatever we don't get in the first) in later rounds..

Also, they were saying on local sports talk radio about if RUN DMC (McFadden) is still avalible would the Saints go after him.. I dunno about that cause he's more of an outside runner and we already have one of those.. If we do go after a RB I'd want a between the tackles "bruiser" to potentially replace Deuce..

What do you think??

Colts will take Mario Manningham if he still on the board

RP

I predicted Gonzales last year and was right. I really think they'll go for another reciever cause no one really knows about Marvins knees.

What's yall's first pick??

04-21-2008, 06:52 PM
I'd assume the Pats are gonna go corner since they really need one, I'd like to see them trade down and pick up more picks. I don't know if any of the top corner prospects are worth money that goes along with a #7 pick. NFL Network had the Pats taking Keith Rivers from USC #7 overall, I would love to see that happen since I think he is going to be an absolute beast but I don't understand why NFL Network has him there because 1.) Belichick prefers veteran Linebackers and 2.) they signed Victor Hobson a few weeks ago. They really don't have a lot of "needs" outside of corner, so I gotta think that's how they are going. Never know though, they have made some picks that seemed random at the time but end up working out

Kris P Lettus
04-21-2008, 06:55 PM
I want us to get Rivers..

Heros Welcome

Falcons will take Dorsey at 3 as long as he is there, which I think he will be. I got the fins taking Jake Long with the Rams taking either Chris Long or Gholston. So i'm pretty confident in taking Dorsey at 3.

I don't think we will be trading back into the first round for a QB, since we have so many glaring needs we can't afford to be giving picks away. So my fingers are crossed that Brian Brohm is their with our 1st pick in the second round. 3-5 years from now I believe he will be better than Ryan, but that is an argument for another time.

Then with our other 2 picks in the second I expect us to grab an o-linemen and a corner.

I really can't wait for this draft since we have so many picks.

Kris P Lettus
04-21-2008, 09:44 PM
And yall wouldn't pick Matt Ryan why??

SammyG
04-21-2008, 09:47 PM
We need : O-line help, D-line help, secondary help, receiver

We will take Chris Long, I think.

Kris P Lettus

SI's Peter King:

From Monday Morning QB:

"This one really surprises me, and at first I didn't think it was true, but New Orleans is serious about trading into the top four -- preferably for LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey but not only for Dorsey. Wish I could tell you the other apple of their eye, but I don't know who he is."

Also of interest:

"The Saints and Jeremy Shockey's rookie-year offensive coordinator, Sean Payton, are still hot for the tight end. It won't get done if the Giants insist on receiving in-his-prime, 25-year-old safety Roman Harper (a 2006 second-round pick), plus the 40th pick in the draft. Harper's the best player in New Orleans' secondary, and to trade him and a second-round pick for an injury-plagued tight end who will be 28 on opening day is not an equitable deal. If the Giants want, say, Harper and a sixth-round pick for Shockey, or a second- and sixth-rounder for him, then I could see the trade getting done."

Hate both these ideas.. We could esily get a great defensive player with the 10th pick..

Also, I'm ok with a second round pick for Shockey but we gotta keep Saint Roman..

Kris P Lettus
04-21-2008, 09:57 PM
Also, The Predator is our best D-Back, not Harper..

Crimson

Cowboys needs; Cornerback, widereciever, backupRB, and some depth on the offensive line.

I hope they just keep the picks and draft any of those needs. Most mocks have them drafting Felix Jones along with a Limas Sweed or D Jackson. But I'm kinda hoping they pass on Jones and draft a Chris Johnson or Ray Rice in the 2nd round. It's obviously a risk if they hope on something like that..but I think wr and cb are bigger needs.
So..with the 1stround picks i'd like to see them take Limas Sweed and Brandon Flowers. I wouldn't mind Talib..Desean Jackson could be good...but I think Sweed will be a better pro.

Kris P Lettus
04-21-2008, 11:12 PM
Felix Jones is gonna be a great NFL RB..

Heros Welcome
04-21-2008, 11:18 PM
And yall wouldn't pick Matt Ryan why??

Well from all that has been reported it just seems as if we are not interested in him. There really isn't a TOP QB in the draft this year. I feel that they built up Ryan in hopes to make him seem like a top 5 pick because every year there just HAS to be a QB taken high, and I think Ryan is media made. I've seen him play and I really don't think he is THAT good. I think Brohm is going to be just as good as him if not better.

Now if Ryan becomes the next Peyton, then shame on us. But I just feel Dorsey is the man that Mike Smith wants, coming from Jax when he had a big DT like Stroud.

Kris P Lettus
04-21-2008, 11:21 PM
Are there any talks of yall going after a QB via trade??

Heros Welcome
04-21-2008, 11:26 PM
As in trade before draft? Or trade to move back into round one?

Nervous Ferret
04-22-2008, 12:29 AM
Jetssssssssssssssssssss

Prob taking Gholston with the 6th pick. Unless Mcfadden falls to 6, in which case I guess they would take him, also wouldn't be surpirsed if they were able to move down this year. But 70% says they stick with Gholston. Don't really think he is the 6th best player in the draft but who knows, should fit right into this 3-4 we are committed to sans Vilma :wavesad:

Boomer

Matt Ryan going at 3 would be brutal...the Falcons would trade down at least a little if they wanted him IMO.

Detroit: Needs: Everything

Strong rumors going around that we are going to take Mendenhall as a RB in the first round

04-22-2008, 03:20 AM

I want Jake Long badly. BADLY. But, I would settle for Dorsey.

I hop Antwoine Cason geos somewhere where hes needed. Like Dallas or rizona.

RP
04-22-2008, 07:09 AM
Colts dont really have much for need. They're returning 20 of 22 starters. They're pretty much drafting for depth. I can see them going Dlineman, but i dont think theres anyone at pick #59 that would be any more good then a Dlineman in the 3rd or 4th. I'm positive Polian will find a gem in the 3rd or 4th. So i believe they'll go WR . I like Manningham, he might be there. I really like Early Doucet. But i dont think he'll be there. I'm shocked Doucet isnt a sure 1st rounder. He's projected as early to mid 2nd. Maybe Indy trades up? I doubt it. Ofcourse, this draft is totally unpredictable for the Colts because like i said, they're basically drafting for depth. THeres no real need anywhere atm. I'm sticking with my Manningham prediction.

VonErichLives
04-22-2008, 11:19 AM
I'd love Rivers also, but the last 1st round LB they took was Katzenmoyer and that was Grieer picking with Carroll as coach.

if Ryan slips they trade down.

I think Ryan's going to be a good pro QB, no Manning or Brady, but he'll be a good QB in the league, the question is will people take him high or try and catch him later and save money.

DL is typically a safe investment high in the draft.

VonErichLives
04-23-2008, 11:46 AM
so word is the Jets are trying to trade with STL to get #2 and take McFadden.

I guess my question is, why would the Jets go to #2? I mean, there's pretty much no chance STL would take McFadden at 2, and Atlanta at 3, the risk is Oakland and 4.

So, wouldn't they try and trade with Atlanta? who could probably deal down to 6, and still get Matt Ryan...

Dunno... make it interesting...

I can't believe im seeing scenarios where Chris long could slip to 6 or 7...

fuck, Chris Long in a Patriot uniform... that would be huge...

Kris P Lettus
04-23-2008, 12:44 PM
It retarded for a team to trade down if their are in the top ten already..

If RUN DMC goes to the Raiders, Jets should just pick up Felix Jones..

Not that hard..

After reading this my response was going to be "Why is it stupid for a team to trade down and pickup more picks for a higher pick if they have multiple holes to fill?

John Clayton reported that we are not gonna trade down with the Rams..

Thank God..

then I read this and realised you have your up and down backwards.

So, you're saying if you're top 10 it's retarded to trade up... really depends on what it costs you and what you want/need.

Everyone knows the Dolphins are taking Jake Long right

the NFL had to "Remined" the Rams that they're not allowed to negotiate with anyone even though Jake Long has signed with the Dolphins.

Evil Vito
04-25-2008, 11:07 AM
I guess its a smart move to not let the Rams negotiate. Would be stupid if one year all the negotiations were done early and the top 5 picks or something were all known.

Not sure what the Giants will do...though its a kinda boring strategy all you can really do is draft the best player available on your boards.

I mean, they were saying yall would pick Ellis then trade him to us for our 10th overall pick and some other pick..

There's talk here if Ellis slips the Pats keep him.

Seymore and Wilfork both have big paydays coming up soon and the thought is they can't afford both. While Ellis would get a nice payday for being the #7 pick, he wouldn't see the huge money for 4-5years.

I really love Wilfork, hate to see him or Seymore go anywhere.

There's also talk if McFadden somehow slips the Pats can get the 2 first rounders from Dallas and deal one of them to Miami for Jason Taylor

I didn't want to trade up, at all cause I thought we could still get an impact player on D at that tenth pick, but I am happy to get Ellis.. He is a f'n beast.. They said USC had to get bigger weights for him.. 200lbs dumbells..

Also, Coach O (our new DL Coach) recruited him at USC..

I don't really think the Redskins draft is that good to be honest. Its hard enough developing one rookie WR, let alone 2. Fred Davis is also going to play behind Cooley. Theres no way to get all these guys on the field at once unless you rotate them in and out frequently. In that event, you're just shifting production from one player to another. Not really worth it.

Giants picking at the end of every round. I guess that's the price you pay for winning the Superbowl.

Really want Manningham for some reason. Where he is projected to go?

I think that I saw a mock or two having the LIONS taking him, actually.
