WWE.com is also proud to break the news on a blockbuster match added to Raw tonight. An Eight-Man Tag Team Match will feature the Backlash main events from Raw, SmackDown and ECW (http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/preview/6871926/#). World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker (http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/undertaker/), ECW Champion Kane (http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/superstars/kane/), John Cena (http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/johncena/) & Triple H (http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/tripleh/) will take on WWE Champion Randy Orton (http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/randyorton/), Edge, JBL (http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/jbl/) & Chavo Guerrero (http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/superstars/chavoguerrero/). With just six days until Backlash, will these teams be able to function together, or will Raw see the combustible combinations implode?

Sounds like a good match.
What the fuck is their thought process? They tend to make their free "special" show better than their PPVs. Would it have been that hard to book this exact show on a PPV?
Have they actually given up on the PPV market and now focusing solely on free TV?

Meh, it's going to suck either way.

People still watch the free TV.

Such a ground-breaking idea, put the faces on one team and the heels on another.

Orton vs. Cena vs. HHH vs. JBL for the WWE Title is a bigger match than the 8-Man Tag they put on RAW.
As is Undertaker vs. Edge. The only exception is Kane vs. Chavo, but that's mid-card fodder at best.

Maybe because it's better than PPV? Pretty much Xero's point.
I disagree that the PPV contains the bigger matches. I mean, they are all pretty much matches we saw last month. But wait, JBL has been adde. I wouldn't pay $29.95 Australian for that (our PPV price) let alone the $49.95 or whatever they ask for in America.
Really don't see how an 8-Man Tag is a bigger match than a match for the WWE Title or a match for the World Heavyweight Title.
Plus with Backlash you get Batista vs. HBK, MVP vs. Matt Hardy, and Kane vs. Chavo.
You're talking about build-up and payoff. I really don't think this build-up 8-Man Tag is going to be anywhere near as good as the matches at Backlash, or even the matches we saw at WrestleMania.

I think it's more the freshness and concentration of all the big names in one match. I guess it's OK for one of the World Title matches to be rematches, but for all three? I think that's a bad decision.
