It's gonna be fucken sweet.
If you look at the amount of money being thrown around in India, you'll see it's got a future.
Love it!

I hate 20/20. It better not damage test cricket anymore that it already has. The IPL could very well mean the death of cricket as we've known it unless they get something going here which it seems they will/have to.

Nobody in America will ever be interested.

America isn't the whole world, you know. The rest of the world is interested in cricket, btw.

Yeah, they fit more people in a room in India than you do in a whole state of the US.
20/20 is pretty horrible for a purist, which I am, but you can't fight it.
I just don't like the fact it's a batsmens game :(

I dunno if this will work but if he throws enough money at it (and he seems willing too) anything could work.

Seems to be the cool thing to set up a multi million pound Cricket league lately.

I hate cricket but I find 20/20 watchable. I guess it's aimed at people like me who can't stand to watch a full day of people hitting a ball....
At this point I can't see how any sport could become more popular than football, short of a world ban on football

It won't become more popular than football but it could take off. Then again, boxing used to be the world's sport and it's fallen away because the general public got bored. Same thing could happen to top level football. People will always play it though.
20/20 cricket is a bit ridiculous. I'd be more worried about it killing test cricket than football.

I read an article in the local newspaper the other day quoting Kyle Mills (former NZ allrounder) the rumour doing the rounds is the salaray cap will be taken off of the rebel 20/20 league next year.
This in effect could double and triple some players wages. I guess once again if you throw enough money at it who knows where the sport will go.
As Mills said in the article it was unthinkable just two years ago that cricket players could be earning multi millions a year but now it looks probable.
Kinda off topic but interesting I thought.
