The best paper over here imo has a decent interview with Regal that is fully available HERE (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/wrestling/article1087812.ece).

Bar him saying Punk has a character that people truly love (cos not everyone does now do they?????? :roll:) I agree with a lot of stuff he says.


In case u can't be bothered reading:

- He says that Ric Flair said he wanted him and only him to have his last match in Japan with.

- Nigel McGuiness is his favourite wrestler right now and that when Nigel came for advice, he told him to ‘Go back to England and learn that style.’ and now he think's he is incredibly good. Also, his "protégée" Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, MVP and Fergal Devitt get a nod from him as great wrestlers.

- He says he wants to be more involved in a wrestling capacity and wants to be a world champion.

- That being a general manager is great as it means I’m on the show, but he's not ready to take a back seat. Though would love to be a talent spotter.

- He's been told that now he is away from the "Carry On (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carry_On_films)" (British slapstick/cheeky comedy series) character that he used to be, he's become more serious and is going to start interjecting himself into top programmes. He's been told he's "ready" for something like this.

I think he is awesome. Was never big on him until Evolution beat down Eugene....Man, Pissed off regal was scary :)

I'd love to see him as a main event guy. To me he brings a some reality to a match. He talks good, he wrestlers good, his hair is fun, and he's different to the other guys now. His european style sets him out from others.

They should run it as him abusing his powers as GM. The crowd gives him heat anyway, but I can see another Duchess of Queensbury rules thing going on ;)

As far as I remember he had a great chemistry with a good technical wrestler from Alberta. They wrestled on RAW, Velocity and even at a smackdown ppv. Pure Quality mayte. Regal still needs a little build up to be a world heavyweight champion...and I am looking forward to it.

I would love to see John Cena not win the title at Backlash and then feud with Regal for a few months, maybe with the end result being Regal goes over but somehow loses his GM spot due to egregious heelish abuses of power. That would set him up nicely for the main event, no need to waste time on the mid-card.

I will say that I love Regal, so KK and BDC will start talking about how he doesn't get real heat, and he's really not good at all.

I have to check out more of Prince Devitt's stuff, seeing as Regal seems big on him. The King of Fighting, Wrestling, the WWE and Awesome Hair is the total sports entertainment package. I do hope he can hang around in the main event. He might be better being moved to either ECW or SmackDown!, where that kind of success can be attained with less strain, but the man truly does deserve the WWE Championship, at some point.

That promo by Regal, the one where he told Triple H that it really wasn't smart pissing him off, gave me goosebumps. A lot of people love him a whole lot more as a heel, but as a face, Regal is serious marky-outage.

I like the idea. I think he needs to get into better shape than he is in now to be in the main event. He is clearly in good shape, but not that of most of the other headliners. The English JBL is not something he wants to be tagged with in his biggest career push.

Also, his recent promo work has been shoddy. He, self-admittedly, is on the show in a talking capacity every week. This should be the time he is working on his mic-work for a title push, but it has been wooden, and just unrealistic in the last few months. The worst period of his career as far as mic-work goes.

However, these are not things that can't be sorted in a fairly short time period, and since his in-ring skills are as high as anyone on the roster, or even the world, I look forward to seeing him wrestle more often, and in higher profile programmes.
