Spring Cleaning looks to be in full swing.

I wonder who else they'll neuter from the roster.

What future endeavors does balls have? So...how much longer till they get rid of Dreamer so no "ECW originals" are left?

<font color=goldenrod>Wonder how long before TNA grabs Balls</font>

I get the joke...but what would TNA have to gain by employing Balls Mahoney?

Xero

What did TNA have to gain when they hired half the WWE rejects they hired?

Will Venis survive this clearout?

WWE getting rid of both their Balls and Venis?

What is this world coming to...

Nah Venis is an Employee For Life, much like Ron Simmons, Hardcore Holly, and <s>Al Snow</s> Viscera.

I say Helms or Dreamer is next.

I bet Joey Styles gets the boot.

Just a big "Fuck you" after moving him to WWE.com.

In fact, make the posting by Joey Styles himself.

Sheesh. I wonder how long it is before they stop claiming to have anything to do with the original ECW.

Just rename ECW Adamle Championship Wrestling and we're all good.

I say Boogeyman and Super Crazy are next to go.

Helms is on the injured list. So I wouldn't cut him loose unless they pay him off or something.

Why boot Taylor when Regal is returning to the ring?

Why not boot Taylor when Regal is returning to the ring?

I don't think Dreamer is going anywhere. I heard he was really over backstage and they want him to be a road agent and what not in the future. He'll probably get moved off tv in the very near future though

<font color=goldenrod>Potential cuts:

-Val Venis (I thought he'd be a lifer but then again I thought Scotty 2 Hotty would be as well)
-Funaki (ditto)
-Nunzio
-Super Crazy
-Boogeyman
-The Highlanders</font>

Dammit, Another Release
April 28th, 2008

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of me, Joey Styles. They wish me the best in all my future endeavors.

Nice, they moved the news section over so it wouldn't get attention.

Personally, I doubt they'll drop Super Crazy. He's the next generation of veteran mechanics like Bob Holly and Val Venis, who are there to make people look good, but not quite be bad enough to be called a jobber.

I may well be wrong. I'm thinking Drew MacIntyre, Trevor Murdoch, Mike Knox and Snitsky ought to be worried, though.

WWE has come to terms on the release of logic as of today, April 28, 2008. We wish logic the best in all its future endeavors.

This followed soon by a flood of "it was still employed?" posts.

Will Venis survive this clearout?

Yes, he probably will. Venis is one of those guys who never complains, is well-liked, and has a wealth of knowledge to spread onto the younger guys. I would consider him right up there with the best sellers in the company, which makes him very good at putting guys over. He also seems to be their go-to guy when they need someone to ring announce if the scheduled ring announcer misses a show, or something. He'll become a producer, and possibly keep an on-screen broadcasting role when he moves away from the ring.

Balls Mahoney was always on my "getting cut soon" list, so it doesn't surprise me he went. I liked him hanging around, though, because he was over as anyone else on ECW. They haven't used him in months, though. He is also not one of the guys who would be a major asset to TNA or ROH. A good cut.

Here are some other guys I can see the WWE releasing in future weeks:

The Highlanders: TNA is pretty much guaranteed to give them jobs for fucking over Robbie. They've never really been used much by the WWE, either. They're also not that over.

Nunzio: He's apparently one of Vince's favourites, but with Funaki doing jobs on the SmackDown!/ECW side of things, does the WWE really need Little Guido?

Charlie Haas: They always seem to release one wrestler who could actually be something.

Torrie Wilson: Come on, they're not going to keep her employed until she's as old as Mae Young, are they?

Snitsky: The WWE keeps trying to get him over, to no avail...I don't think Vince can even like him that much.

The Boogeyman: He is so injury prone, and although he has improved, I can't help but maybe think him recently getting his teeth back might be paid for by the WWE, just so they don't feel bad about firing him.

Jonathan Coachman: He failed pretty bad as the SmackDown! color commentator, and I can't see a spot for him in the WWE's current scheme of things.

Mike Adamle: OK, all Mike the Adamle humor aside, the man is pretty awful as commentator, and when ECW begins to become even more of a joke because of it, I can see the WWE just cutting their losses with him.

Lena Yada: She isn't even that hot. No one even cares about her. Torrie Wilson does nothing for me (since I've seen her without make-up), but at least she really connects with the idiot fans. Yada can't even do that. It's time to hire new sluts, anyway.

Stevie Richards: Another of Vince's favorites. Do not ask me why I can see this. Another one of those releases where you hear about people backstage being surprised by it. Richards recently got a push, and it's gone almost nowhere. Richards could be used to help guys in FCW, so maybe he will just step away from the ring, or something? Al Snow was well-liked, and found himself released instead of training, though. The same goes for Dave Taylor.

Jack Korpela: I like him a lot, and most will have no clue who he is, but Korpela just strikes me as an announcer hired and fired. He's been working so hard to be the best color man he can be when called in to do Heat, but the WWE just hired Timmy Baltimore. I can see Korpela looking for work elsewhere.

knox is getting a push and murdoch is in a potential split angle so I think they are safe. Snitsky ain't going anywhere for some reason. I do agree with your assessment of Drew Macintyre.

There is no doubt that Richards, Dreamer and Venis will survive the cuts.

Drew's only had 3 matches on tv. It would seem unfair to fire him without a legitimate run. Of course, that's talking like WWE has a reputation for condsidering the welfare of their employees.
