View Full Version : Worst Week Ever for Wrestling?

Raw - The main event is interrupted by William Regal and we do not get a finish.

ECW - The announcers walk out during the main event, setting up another pointless storyline.

TNA - The show ends with the announcement that Awesome Kong will be part of the "Egotistical 8" and participate in a tag team tournament.

Smackdown - The Undertaker is stripped of the world title.

Every show ended in a way that was either extremely stupid or utterly pointless (or a fine mixture of the two.)

Imagine buying a ticket for an event, and having the main event stopped. Imagine sitting in anticipation as Cornett is in the middle of the ring saying, "Oh, I forgot one more!" Who could be it? RVD? Lashley? Nope. Awesome Kong.

So would you agree that this week absolutely sucked?

If so, how do you think it could be salvaged?

Raw - Personally I'd like to see an angle where Jericho "saves" the WWE from crappy storylines, and have the WWE use it as a way to make a better product.

ECW - The announcers walk out in the first phases of an ECW rebellion, because there's nothing "E" about it. It would be wonderful if this ultimately brought Heyman back, and we saw more ECW originals.

TNA - I don't know. An 8 sided ring?

Smackdown - The Undertaker comes back with a Vengeance, randomly interrupting matches and choke slamming everyone in site. This ultimately results in Vickie Guerrero never being seen on television again, and Taker having one final, lengthy, and decent title run.

I think that whole Chris Benoit thing was a little worse to be honest with you.

Awesome Kong competing in that stupid tourney isn't a bad idea... it's just not the best way to go about getting her to compete with the men. That should have been saved for a good one on one feud. It might even get TNA some real mainstream attention.

There have been far stupider things to happen in wrestling than a few Dusty finishes.

Also, I like that the salvage ideas are Jericho/Heyman/Undertaker/Fail.

Stripped title, inter-gender tag teams, black out main events, pulling people off the show before the main event....

After over 100 years of sport and show I do believe that pro wrestling has jumped the shark.

If no one knows where these story lines are going at the moment, how are they pointless? If the end results are crappy, then you have an argument.

Also, this has no bearing on the various Japanese feds, CMLL or AAA. At the very most it's a bad week for American professional wrestling. Not even counting whatever happened in ROH recently.

I agree. This is definately the worst week ever for wrestling. Interesting angles and/or endings to the wrestling shows that the majority of people appear to like is TERRIBLE. The WORST week EVER! I'm sure the mainstream media now count Benoit as one of the better things to occur in wrestling after the dispicable, disgusting, rude and violent events that happened this week.

So now TNA has

Stone Cold Shark Boy
Jay "Macho Man" Lethal
and a bigger...darker version of Chyna
and IMO a version of HIAC

So anything that TNA does next dosen't suprise me cause I bet I've already seen it before.

Lol. Because any female wrestler wrestling men is just copying Chyna.

Here are some worse worst weeks:

- The week after Vince McMahon bought WCW.

- The subsequent week when there was no Nitro.

- The week that the Chris Benoit story broke

- The week Goldberg turned heel

There's probably a lot more. This was far from the worst week ever. They're finally doing something different instead of having the same old shit every week. Regal "cutting the show" is much more interesting than a Triple H DQ victory or some stupid shit.

Except Awesome Kong is actually a great wrestler. Chyna.... was just some dude on roids.

Actually, many seem to think this was a great week of wrestling, myself included. I didn't catch Smackdown, but it at least sounds like it made sense from a storyline perspective. And RAW and ECW were very well done, as well as TNA not sucking for once.
