Ok i know what the red and white audio do and hte yellow video does but what do the blue green and red video cables do?
How much better do these cables make the video?
Is it better than S video?

Yes, it is like night and day... if you have an HD TV. I don't think it makes much difference for regular TVs, or if regular TVs even have the component cables (RGB).
But if you have an HD TV it's a must.
I had my PS2 hooked up to my HDTV a couple years ago with just the yellow wire and it was awful. Like all blurry and bland colors. The component cables made it really sharp and vibrant.

The blue, green, and red cables are the separate signals for the colors
My non-HD TV has the inputs and it's really like night and day. With the yellow video cable I get very noticeable compression/pixilation/blurring and with the component cables I get almost none of that. Dead Rising was almost unplayable for me until I used the component cables.
In fact I bought a splitter just to have both my DVD player and 360 hooked up to the component slot.

Yeah, my PS2 looks like shit on my parent's TV. Def gonna have to get a splitter at some point.
