Before everyone gets on my case for hating Jericho, this is coming from a non-hate perspecitve.
I am just saying right now, as of this second with current story lines. It seems much more likely that Regal could get a world title shot, if not win it before Jericho.
Discuss.
Well one dude is getting a big heel push and one isn't. Duh!

I'm not hating on Jericho, I am just comparing to established veterans and saying that Regal currently looks stronger than Jericho. You just blindly assume since I said Jericho's name, I'm hating on him.
Plus I think comparing them is fair. They have had similar careers, so to speak. Both were WCW undercarders with no way up. They are both idolized by their repective countries. Both have beaten up Goldberg. Both have been held back because of their bodies (Jericho being small, Regal being pasty and unimpressive). Both are considered techincal experts. Both work better as heels.
If I wanted to insult Jericho, I would have said Collin Dalaney > Jericho.

Jericho > Nash.
All you need to know.
The only reason Nash lost to Jericho is because Nash needed a hair cut for his role in Punisher. It is a well known fact that if a wrestling is going to get a haircut, they have to lose a haircut match. It is against the law for prowrestlers to go to a barbershop.
Undertaker didn't. JBL didn't. Steve Austin didn't. Chris Jericho didn't. Christian Cage didn't. Should I go on?

Undertaker died and came back with shorter hair. JBL switched gimmicks, it doesn't count. Austin did it in ECW, ECW was real. Jericho wasn't a wrestler at the time. Christian Cage is Canadian, the laws are different up there.

I believe that law was enacted so that wrestlers wouldn't try to dive through plate glass windows to escape their adversaries, as did that coward Marty Janetty.
Undertaker died and came back with shorter hair. JBL switched gimmicks, it doesn't count.
Wrong on both counts there. During his biker run, Taker had hair one week and it was cut the next. Same with JBL before he turned heel.

I wouldn't say MVP is established, nor is CM Punk. Hardy is clearly not in the mainevent picture. As for JBL and Bigshow, that is a good point. I would say they are both in a slightly better position that Regal. I would probably rank it something like Bigshow > JBL > Regal > Jericho > Punk > MVP right now. Possible switching Jericho and Punk only because Punk can get a title shot whenever he pleases right now, but I don't believe Punk could win. I have JBL up so high because he is carrying his fued with Cena right now and just came out of a world title match. Bigshow can win the title when ever he wants and seems really focused right now (i mean that from both a mark and smark point of view).

To look "strong" as you put it. But either way, you need wins. At the moment they're pushing him as a corrupt authority figure which works the way they're doing it, but to make him look strong in the ring he needs to win some matches. To look like a strong heel he needs to steal some hard fought matches.
At the moment, no he isn't even close to strong. He jobbed for 3+ years, and has since won one match.
Granted, yes he's recieving a strong push. But Hornswaggle recieved a bigger push in 2007 than most of the uppercard. Doesn't mean he looked stronger
And jericho is far better on the mic, has more potential than regal.
Come on now

Oh and my unbiased two cents.
Jericho, as a former champion and consistent uppermidcard/main eventer obvious looks stronger. He wins matches consistently against other protected wrestlers. He also holds a top tier title (regardless of it's credibility) and is depicted as one of the best on television.
Regal, however, has yet to get an in ring push of any sort.
In terms of storyline, the edge goes to Regal at the moment. Jericho is still on tv every week, and involved in an awkward storyline, but a weekly storyline with Bats and HBK nonetheless.
I'd say Jericho definitely ranks higher in the pecking order of the WWE right now, but Regal is in the midst of a push so they could be around the same level kayfabe and storyline-wise shortly. How long that lasts is another discussion, but yes I agree with what you're saying.
Even though technically Jericho is stronger and higher priority than Regal RIGHT NOW, I'll def agree with Regal=Jericho

Where are the Regal marks, anyway? I mean, you have people bitching about the comparison as though Jericho was just compared to some shitty third rate wrestler.
And I ask: Of all the people to be worse than, is it even that bad if Jericho is worse than him?
Regal is not Shawn Michaels or Kurt Angle. He's not the Rock or Steve Austin. He is, however, strong in both mic skills and mat skills, even if his mat skills aren't exactly what people think of in terms of style. Regal's been a solid wrestler or character for years now, and has been constantly outshone by other wrestlers. And now he's getting a solid push that is long overdue. Is it really so bad to be compared to that?
Well, it is for TL, because it would require him to take Chris' cock out of his mouth, but come on....

Does it really matter what BDC, Instant Classic, TL, or Kane Knight think anyway?
IT STILL MATTERS TO THEM DAMMIT!!!
Chris Jericho is overrated. He's pretty good on the mic, and he's pretty good in the ring. He's not this amazing, limitless talent that everyone seems to think he is, and I'm sorry, but saying that Regal is sloppy in comparison to Jericho means one of two things. Either you're blatently trying to sway opinion by being dishonest, or you simply don't know what you're talking about. Jericho can be entertaining, and is a very good wrestler. You all are talking about someone who's best work was arguably over a decade ago. No matter what anyone says, yes, his return has floundered a bit, and it's because fans just don't care about him THAT much.
While he was gone, everyone was saying, 'Please God Jericho, come back to BAH-GAWD RAW.' They even did a 'Save us' gimmick, which floundered pathetically. Now that he's back? Meh. Poor booking? Maybe...but I was never feeling it.
Regal, on the other hand, is on a roll right now. I'll go out on a limb and say that Regal has cut some of the best promos I have seen on RAW in so long that I can't even remember something better. (Which is probably wrong, of course, but the guy has been money)
Regal is an excellent wrestler and understands basic wrestling psychology maybe better than anyone working today. I hate to be one of those guys that references something that's on a WWE DVD and even put over by the announcers, but if you can see Chris Benoit v. Regal at the Pillman memorial show, it's definately worth a view. It's textbook.
Before this, I always thought that regal was okay on the mic. But he looks like a million bucks right now, and has really shown that he can go edgy and get it across.
I guess my point is, right now, Regal > Jericho. However, ten years ago, Jericho > Regal, as far as I'm concerned. I guess you could blame booking for either, or that Regal was a tad overweight back then and didn't get the breaks...or whatever else you might want to pick.
I sure as hell am not going to complain if Regal gets a title run. It's about time we had a heel that had a real personality outside of Triple H.
I vote Regal > Jericho.

Second place goes to TL for agreeing.
I'm sure it's not even close. BDC may not be hating on Jericho, per se, but I think the objection some have to this thread is that BDC specifically chose Regal and Jericho to compare. What could have warranted this comparison?
To answer BDC's question, though, I'm really not sure who I prefer at the moment. I'd take both over pretty much every other guy in the WWE. Both a great in-ring workers, and fantastic on the mic (despite what people are now saying about Jericho, to deny he can work magic on the mic is ridiculous).
They are different types of performers, though. Regal is a more European-based wrestler, whereas Jericho has a more "flashy" flavour to him. Japan, Mexico and Canada all sort of effect his style. They are also on opposite ends of the face/heel spectrum (well, I still technically consider Jericho a face until he officially turns heel).
As for who is more over? I haven't been watching RAW, so I'm not sure the kind of heat that Regal's new "abusing power" angle has gotten, but Jericho is pretty damn over. We've been over this before, and I'm sure you'll disagree, but Jericho ws one of the most popular guys during the Attitude era. Yes, everyone was popular then, but Jericho was in that upper echelon, even though he was never the top guy. People remember that, and they also are reminded constantly of him being the Undisputed Champion. Jericho's credibility can be re-established in a snap of the fingers.
Mr. Nerfect

I'm trying to think of one botch, and the only one I can think of is when he landed on Punk wrong during a Lionsault spot.
His ring work has really been quite good since returning. I haven't seen his stuff with JBL, but JBL's matches are never meant to be read as bouts of precision.

A. I would call Jericho lazy before I called him sloppy.
B. I remember how preposterous it was to suggest that Regal was World Title material as little as a year ago. Now he's tied with internet diety Jericho. I could make a hearty delicious soup out of my satisfaction.
I would call him lazy and sloppy.
And as for Regal, The tide may have turned simply because they clearly pushed Regal for a reason. Regal's always been an internet darling, but he's never looked like he had a real chance. He doesn't have the "look," He's not big, he's got a style that radically differs from the guys who normally make it, and while he's charismatic, he's not Cena or Rock charismatic.
Anyway, and this isn't dedicated at you specifically or anything, but I'm laughing at the people who are bent by this, bitching about BDC and how he has it out for Jericho, yet the poll being so evenly split kinda says to me it's a fair comparison. Not directed at you, just something amusing that came to mind while reading it.

I compared Jericho and Regal because I recall not to long ago there was a thread about Jericho possible being champion and recently I was asking people what they thought about Regal being champion. They seemed like a good comparison.
That's all well and good. I'm glad you have those reasons. You have been an antagonist when it comes to Jericho remarks, though. It might have been good to specify your reasoning behind comparing the two. Even then, though, you bringing up Jericho could be read as sly anti-Jericho slants.
Of course, if only people realised you weren't subtle about your hatred of guys, they'd be much more enlightened.

And jericho is far better on the mic, has more potential than regal.
I like Jericho and everything, but this is just plain wrong.
As good as Jericho is, once and a while a promo or interview falls flat, or sounds forced. It's not often, but it happens.
It happens to everybody once and a while. Everyone except regal, that is. I cannot recall a single incident where regal spoke into a mic, and had the same problems listed above. Every time, he seems completely absorbed into his character, and the angle.
As for in-ring stuff, Jericho is more versitale as far as what he can do, but regal's mat skills and psycology are much better. And he knows how to brawl a lot better, too.

So IC conceded means everyone else has to?
No. Again and again, no.
Also, "I haven't seen it" means very little in your case. You can try and make it out like "everyone" who disagrees with me is dismissed like you, but no. Just you. Why? Well, because you look at Jericho through love goggles.
Also, Jericho is supposed to be someone who can get a great match out of anyone. Why would his bouts with JBL be any different?

And he's put more effort into it.

I think a big part of the problem is that regal hasn't had a lot of oppurtunity to show what he's really capable of in a one-on-one singles match. I mean, let's face it. It's rare that regal gets to go for longer than 5 minutes, let alone with someone who he doesn't have to carry. I've had the pleasure of seeing quite a few matches of regal's where he was able to really work, and I'll tell you right now, he can hang in the main event.
I agree that he doesn't have the charisma to be a superstar face champion, but I would argue that he could play the heel champion as good, if not better than everyone else.

Oh and the reason regal is getting this push is basicly because he asked for it. In a recent Interview, he said as much as he enjoys his GM role, he is always bugging Vince to let him wrestle more. And that he is in the best shape of his life, and he reallyu wants a world title.

Actually, I don't look at Jericho through love goggles. You look at me through convenience goggles. I see things however it suits me to see them for the sake of your argument.
Jericho has done nothing offensive since showing up. The booking of him has been questionable, but I've never agreed with the whole "Jericho is lazy" "Jericho can't talk anymore" "Jericho is sloppy" mindsets. I think people expected too much from Jericho, and they're holding him up to an unfair standard. Since returning, Jericho has easily been one of the more entertaining aspects of RAW. Probably the most entertaining consistently each week.
Also, who says Jericho is supposed to be someone who can get a great match out of anyone? Your mental version of me? Someone else? Jericho can get great matches out of most people, but Chris Benoit couldn't get a "great" match out of JBL, Eddie Guerrero wasn't able to get a "great" match out of JBL, and Shawn Michaels probably wouldn't be able to get a "great" match out of JBL. From what I read, Jericho's bouts with JBL were as good as they could be for what they were, i.e. throwaway brawls.

One of the great things about Regal is that he say more with a small gesture than many people can do with a crazy move.
A good example is from the Pillman Tribute Show against Benoit. He could have hooked and executed a Butterfly Suplex at one point. Instead, he slowly locked the hands before the hold, as if to say he's having to fight Benoit to pull the move off, but has enough of an advantage to pull it off.
Another good example is his escapes from a Full Nelson. For those who never seen it: He'll raise up a knee and lock his hands around it. He will then push down on the knee to break the opponents hand grip. From there it's a simple back elbow. He could have slipped out, powered out, or went to the ropes. Instead, he says "I'm a good enough wrestler that I can get out of this hold and hurt you for putting me into it."
The final example comes from virtually every one of his lateral presses: the forearm across the face is just nasty. A simple way of saying "even when I'm trying to end the match I'm gonna hurt you." Good announcers will call this, as well.

 Yeah, my argument is really one of convenience. Riiight. First I'm inconsistent, which seems to derive almost exclusively from your inability to accept that there are more than two points of view, now I'm making an argument of convenience. I wonder what you'll make up next in your never-ending quest to lie.
