I hate that WWE edits out the shit on their DVD's. Thats one of the few reasons I rather enjoy watching the ppv and taping it. Then you dont have to worry about some wrestlers mistake being taken out or the mentioning of someone being gone from a speech.

I still say it's a rough thing to address.
Yes, Chris Benoit was one of the best to ever lace a pair of boots. But how do you honor a man's accomplishments and his past, without having the entire thing be marred with his final 72 hours. It's still, after all this time, one of those things that I simply can't understand. His wife is bad, his son is beyond my comprehension. Can you separate the man from the killer? I know I can't, and don't think we should either.
Plus, and this is a REAL easy move on WWE's part, they don't want to be accused of making even a penny off of Chris Benoit's name. So they edit it out. It's really a fine PR move. So I wouldn't expect to ever see Chris Benoit so much as mentioned on WWE programming again.
Easy way out? That's debatable. But it's what they're doing, so case closed.
Personally I think they should not advertise his name as much as you can but not delete anyone from history. However, it's Vince McMahon's company and he can do what he likes.

I was watching some of the HOF, but didn't get to Flair's part yet. But that does suck cus it was Flair's choice to mention him, so maybe it is some disrespect to Flair for editing his speech.

I was thier at the HOF that night and that site got it wrong it was not a mixed reaction . When ric mentioned Beniot 95% of that crowd cheered . WWE will never get over it but i think people are willing to honor beniot as a wrestler .

I think, maybe in 2012 or 2017 WWE will be able to market a new Benoit DVD. Much like the WCCW dvd was a whole "Drugs are bad, m'kay" dvd WWE could do that with Benoit. Let people know that not everyone will be like the Von Erichs and be recalled as heroes by all.
Celebrate what he did in the ring, and discuss what he did outside of it. By 2012 and 2017 WWE could pretty much make up their own facts. Interview people who will still defend him, and guys like New Jack so everyone knows there's two sides to every story. Let Vince say why he cut out every mention of Benoit from everything possible, even the Steve Austin DVD.
Hell, they can even do something with this that I'd love to see WWE do with some DVDs- Make expansion disks. It would sell for Eddie. "Cheating Death, Stealing Life- Five years later: We Still Miss You." For Chris they can do "Hard Knocks- Hard Truth."
