Video card help

FUCK!!!!!


Right so I am running a crappy old PC with XP media centre edition and I have it hooked up to a sony 68 cm crt tv through a Raedon 9550 video card out of the s-video port. Now for literally years it has worked fine, but now for some reason when I was wtching an avi I had on dvd it fuced up and stopped working.

If I plug in a monitor through the VGA it works fine, if I go into the catalyst control center and clone the monitor onto the tv save my settings and everything is fine. Until I restart the PC, the monitor still works but the TV doesn't.

It's driving me fucking nuts!!!!

is the tv enabled?
perhaps it was New Drivers via windowsupdate? you need to do that though I think.
Does something else work in that input on the tv?

The tv is fine, it works perfectly. For some reason when I restart the PC it doesn't recognise the TV, but it does recognise the monitor. I tried to update the driver but I got a message saying I had to update the .Net framework to 2.0. Bollocks to that.

The thing is the PC isn't really speced to run XP (it's old) but it does run it ok, and it has for ages.

I think I'll just do a dodgey with one of my customers and get a new HP Pavillion for free, but until then I need to get this bloody thing sorted out.

Nah, you should probably update your .NET Framework to 2.0 anyways. I'm surprised you haven't ran into any other things telling you to update it yet.

I don't have auto update on because it's a dodgey copy of XP and last time it updated I kept getting a nice message from Microsoft telling meit was an illegal copy.

There are registry cracks you can get to make your copy of windows legit. I haven't had a legit copy of windows in years, and was forced to find a crack about a year ago cause of all this 'windows genuine checker' shit that they really started strong on. I've been able to run windows update and get everything recent for a while now. Still works great, and all it did was change a registry file.
