I gave a one sentence mention in my MGS4 thread, but to elaborate a bit more (it's big news because 2K Games in the past REALLY tried to kill any rumors of this happening):
BioShock Confirmed for PS3
Would you kindly believe the rumors now?

Cue the I-told-you-so's -- the everlasting rumor about last year's Xbox 360 hit BioShock (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3150047) popping up on the PS3 turns out to be true. According to the July issue of EGM, publisher 2K Games has confirmed that the underwater shooter is making the transition to Sony's shores.
Still don't believe us? Well, if you catch yourself a copy of the July issue (hitting subscribers as we speak, and on newsstands on June 3), you'll get the full scoop on how the Xbox 360 will translate (including some potential graphical improvements) in time for the 2008 holiday season.
Along with a chat with BioShock's new creative director Jordan Thomas (taking over the sunken series from creator Ken Levine), EGM has the first screens and info, including some fishy details about the future of Rapture.
GREAT news for PS3 owners. The sequel may also be multiplatform, too.
I heard a LOT about how good this game was on the 360. I heard the DLC for this would be on the PS3 disc, too.

Great. You wait almost an extra year for a game that will probably require a mandatory HDD install.
Great news.
Or you can go multiplatform yourself....

You should've seen some of the 360 fanboys continue on their ways to try to say that it would "never happen" because Take Two said it wouldn't, then turn around and say they don't believe Konami about MGS4 not going to the 360 anytime soon.
That, and the notion that there is going to be a graphical improvement and all 360 DLC included on the disc might be inclusion for me to wait and get the PS3 version. Again, it's some good news from that standpoint that the port won't be a lazy one. That and that the game still moves the 360 off shelves.
I was thinking about getting a 360, though. It would complete my next-gen system trio (along with the Wii and PS3)

I don't really give a shit about fanboys. I don't care about the dick waving that happens with each "exclusive" that is really more of a "wink wink exclusive." PS3 fanboys are stupid. 360 Fanboys are stupid. Fanboys are stupid, period. Doesn't matter.
What does matter is that thePS3 has a smaller userbase, a lower attach rate, and even with improvements, Bioshock will probably sell enough units to barely justify, if that. A lot of PS3 owners are also 360 owners, meaning they've already played the game. I have trouble getting moist about MGS for the 360 or Bioshock for the PS3, because both are virtually inconsequential to most. The former will be dumbed down for the 360, the latter will reach a small market of gamers.
Again, fanboys tout these things as victories. I mean, it's nice for the people who didn't have a 360 and really wanted another shooter, but....

Just a quick question:
If I have a 360, and I have nearly 20 games (not including XBLA and original XBox titles) for it that I enjoy very much, and I really dig the Live setup, and I don't have a PS3 because I can't justify its purchase because there aren't enough good games or general positives about it for me... does that make me a 360 fanboy?

Nah, I'm the same way, although I own less PS3 games then you do 360 games. THe boat I'm in for the most part is that 95% of the games I really want to play are either on PS3, or on both systems. Plus I wanted a bluray player. The only 360 exclusives I really care about are Mass Effect and Dead Rising.

I mean I only own a 360 at this point, and have been a little hesitant to find enough reason to Warrant buying a PS3 other then MGS4:POTP....I hope that doesn't mean I'm a fanboy.

No, no, no. You're a fanboy if you're constantly putting down people if they don't own the console you own and have wood for. The whole '360 is better than PS3' and vice-versa is a childish arguement. I myself am a 360 owner and love it, but I'm not gonna put down PS3 owners for choosing that. Granted most of them already have a 360, but that's not the point. Some people prefer the Sony product over Microsoft.
Personally, the PS3 just doesn't have enough going for it to make me want to just run out and buy it. It's a great system, don't get me wrong, but there's just not enough selling points to make it worth skipping a car payment to buy.

I didn't think this game was all that great or anything. Seemed like another average FPS.

No, that makes you practical.
I've got to say that I love having so many games for the 360. I may have bought more games in the last 2 years than I did for the PS3, period.

I agree, but people thought it was brilliant and would probably have our heads for such blashpemy.

I thought the world in Bioshock was AMAZING. The immersion factor was great. But the gameplay itself was pretty basic for a shooter. The plasmids were cool, but nothing amazing. The part I loved about the game was just the feeling of the world.. I started to really get pulled in.
