View Full Version : Anyone catch the first epsiode of this season of Gladiators? (And a related question)

This is sorta on topic, actually. It's not about the show in general, but that SWAT dude. How bad does he want to to be a pro wrestler?

Anyway, watching him try and be "The Rock" or something, and was thinking, "It'd be interesting if WWE tried to pick up a couple of guys from this show." It could be great crossover potential, especially if they can get a footage deal with NBC (Geeee...I wonder...)

Anyway, think it'd be a good idea? Obviously you'd be hard pressed to sign the people who make it as Gladiators, but a couple folks last season made some impressive showings without making it.

It could potentially work.

It's not like it's completely impossible. I mean, Rico competed in the original show ended up in the WWE.

I will say this: Gladiator Crush would mess up most/all of the Divas, and is hotter than 3/4s of them.

I would agree with Vast that the WWE should probably just raid all the women Gladiators they can and toughen up their women's division in general. If they could get Wolf and Toa, they may be worthwhile and definitely have the charisma for it (although the Wolf character is about 20 years too late, but still).

I would love to see some kind of Invasion angle where the Gladiators attack WWE wrestlers with various Gladiator weapons, like the pugilist stick.

Crush probably wouldn't be able to sign, because she's also under contract with Elite XC. She wouldn't need a pugil stick, though she's quite vicious with one. Wolf would be so cheesy and over the top that he'd draw, completely on accident.

I was thinking less the Gladiators (Who probably get paid more for 13 eps than most of the wrestling talent makes in a year), and more the contenders, myself. However, an invasions/crossover with the Gladiators themselves would be cool, since AG is already pretty much sports entertainment.

Plus with the ratings on the decline, most of them may be looking for jobs pretty soon and there's only so much "Wolf" can do. The "Invasion" I envisioned would be largely comedic, but I guess if the Gladiators could actually wrestle, it could work on some kind of serious level.

Toa is/was the Rock's stunt double, and Matt Morgan is on this season

LOL. True. Wolf annoys me. The cheesiest shit on that show, and I doubt he's going to find employment. Maybe TNA. He could debut as "Dog," Go against the champ, and get screwed....

Are ratings really on the decline?

Morgan made it on the show? I thought they didn't get him. Shows how much attention I'm paying.

I swear, he tries to work "Maniacs" into every term. "Gladiatormaniacs" is just...:|

But Hogan as an interviewer on Gladiators is far better than watching him perform in WWE, so I'm happy with the "mute" button.

I suppose the other big question is, how will Vince rip this off in the future?

...Besides handing Nick Hogan the keys....

The Nielson site said that the third episode of Gladiators has done the best so far with about 5.05 million viewers, which is up a million from previous episodes.

I know a handful of the gladitors have been trained as prowrestlers. Plus it wouldn't be that big of a strech for any of them.

Most of them are just pro wrestler wannabes, anyway. Ghe Gladiators all try to don personas and trash talk. Wait, maybe they're rap wannabes.

No, they can actually back it up without hiding behind bodyguards. Definitely wrestlers.

I could see Toa if he trains.

Wolf is a bullrider, so he is legit tough, but I doubt he could learn at his age, and he doesnt seem wrestler type.

Militia does gay porn, so count him out.

Justice is a hoss but lacks definition, and he has zero personality.

Titan is basically a blonde Chris Masters.

I would suck Crush's pussy.

Just found out that hellga is a trained female wrestler, so I guess these guys are more of the wrestling type.

And Apparently Morgan signed on, he is now known as beast, will debut in the coming weeks, when he is lowered from the ceiling in a cage......

You better do it to her satisfaction, or she'll hit you with a Pugil Stick and kill you.

Seriously, she almost knocked someone out on the last episode, and they were wearing a helmet. Of course, by almost knocked out, I mean visibly staggered them and they dropped their pugil stick.

Having his cousin work out at your gym helps with info. Also they have a clip of him getting lowered down into the arena, only a second long but you can tell it's him.
