Nah, but seriously what is with all these ridiculous sequels two decades after the previous film lately?

I guess the people who used to see the original movie(s) when they were younger will want to see a sequel of it now so that will increase the demographic range or whatever. Plus they were big hits back then. You've got your Batmang, Indiana Jones, Beverly Hills, etc. It's not a guaranteed hit but people will take a chance on it.

Dunno I'd definitely differentiate between Batman and Beverly Hills Cop. I mean BHC just seems pointless, as did the Rambo sequel and I hate to say it but Indiana Jones too, I mean Raiders was/is a huge classic, Temple of Doom was way over the top and endangered the series but they pulled off a fantastic final piece in the trilogy with Last Crusade, now 20 years later they arbitrarily decide to tack another one on. Atleast with Batman there's the huge wealth of material to draw upon, not to mention the fact that aside from Burton's first one Batman has never been done justice, especially not in the 90's.

I disagree with some of your points made, mainly saying it is okay for batman due to a huge wealth of material. Just seems illogical that only because there is already something out there to base storylines off of that it is ok, but because other movies would have to come up with new material it won't be good. Plus it isn't like superhero movies follow any comic book story arc all that well, usually just covers the basics if that.

Also they are all having sequels because they were huge financial successes. These movies aren't being made for artistic purposes, but rather for the money which is why almost all movies are made in the first place.
