So I've been shopping for laptops. Been thinking about one of these 2:

And what I'm wondering about specifically is the RAM. One has 2GB, the other has 3GB. Is that extra gig gonna make a huge difference? I know Vista is supposed to be very RAM intensive, but I'm not gonna be playing any cutting edge games or anything like that. What's up?

The 1GB RAM difference shouldn't be so bad and I trust Gateway a bit more, so I suggest that.

And even if you do get to the point where you find 2GB of RAM to be hindering, you can always upgrade it.

Fuck Compaq.. biggest pieces of shit ever. God, seriously.. never buy a Compaq. You will regret it. While not fond of Gateway, I would recommend them over anything Compaq puts out.

Lenovo is great. If you want more shit for less pay go for Acer. They advertise Compaq as the world's #1 notebook company. I have a lot of compaq users at my hostel and most of them are really pissed off with respect to the battery life and screen quality.

Don't buy Dual core, it's really not worth it.
