In fact, just give him Rock's gimmick.

I am indeed down with the Brown.

D'Lo was one of my favourite midcarders during the attitude era. He's an all round quality performer, I hope he wasn't just hired 'cos of that whole 'WWE needs more black wrestlers' thing, but still I'm happy he's back and can't wait to see him back in action :D

In the original version of the NOD (with Farooq, Clarence Mason, Crush, Savio, and a bunch of random black people) I thought the only non Farooq member of the stable that was worth a shit was D-Lo (He'd always be the one taking the ridiculous bumps).

He's also the only member of the Gangstaz with talent. (Yes, he was in the Gangstaz, back in SMW.)

Nah, I'm not ready to go down with the Brown, nor was I ever. He was allright, but I've never been much of a fan of him.

I suspect they'll stick him on ECW, althought I hope not. It won't help the "All black dudes go on ECW" stigma, so they'll probably throw him on Smackdown.

A US title level feud might be a good place for D'Lo to go. Either he can debut as a heel with MVP bringing him in to take out Matt, or he could debut as a face, saving Hardy from MVP and then feuding with MVP. Either way, I think putting him in one of those programs on Smackdown would be best.

Anyways, good for Brown. They should have him into a near-immediate IC feud with Jeff Hardy. Then he and MVP can claim that the Hardys like to beat down the black man. :shifty:

Seriously, Jeff vs D'Lo would be a good move. MVP has the black midcard wrapped up on Smackdown, and we know they ain't gonna let two darkies run wild on the same show. Cause the audience will forget which is which. For that matter, so would JR, so definitely don't put them both on Raw...

Considering they're trying to get Latino ratings on Smackdown, it's not even racist. They're moving the guys who appeal to the audience of the show.

They move Latinos to Smackdown because Latinos don't have cable.

Actually, it's probably partially true, but I try not to let truthiness get in the way of a joke.

Though honestly, I'm not sure why "Latino appeal" means anything from a marketing standpoint. Latinos of comparable demographics have worse spending power. So your white fanbase doesn't care, and your brown fanbase steals your shit. :D

I always liked D'Lo, it's great that he's back... but I liked the chest-protector, cocky heel European champion D'Lo. By the time he left, after the Lo Down and Down With The Brown gimmicks, he wasn't worth a wank.

I'd love to see him come in and get a nice push, but it's more likely he won't get over with the current crowds, will be a glorified squash boy, and prop up the bottom undercard. That's if he ever even makes it back to TV... he could end up in development hell and go the way of Too Cold Scorpio and Henry Godwinn.

I really like D'Lo Brown. It should be spelled that way, and not D-Lo. That makes me think of Bi-Lo. An Australian strand of cheap supermarkets.

Once on RAW, they were doing that RAW Roulette thing, and D'Lo Brown was placed in a Blindfold Match against Triple H. I remember marking out like a bitch for that, as I think D'Lo got the Sky High on Triple H.

I'd be happy to see him back. His theme music is reason enough for him to return. I'd like to see him as an ass-kicking babyface, to be honest. His music just makes me want to cheer him. Although I'm sure it would have been a heel gimmick, D'Lo using the chest protector is OK with me. If nothing else, for the aesthetics of it. What the the gimmick attached to the chest protector, by the way? Was it a part of the Nation of Domination thing?

Also, he should use the Lo Down when he returns.

D'Lo Brown, in my opinion, always had and always will have the potential to be as popular as Chris Jericho and RVD were in their primes.

D'Lo was one of the few characters in the WWE that got GREAT reactions as both a heel AND a face....and VERY few wrestlers can say that.

Having said that - I have absolutely no confidence in the WWE creative team. In all likelihood, D'Lo will be a mid/low-mid carder, and job in probably 2 out of every 3 matches that he'll have. The crowd will lose interest in him as result.

I pray that I'm wrong, but I have no reason to feel differently.

Legend Killer

SmackDown and RAW are definitely hurting for someone to be competitive for THe IC and US Championships. D'LO should have been SAVE_US.
