Well Blu Ray won the High Def war with HD DVD, so for those of you that have players or a PS3, what movies do you want to see come to the format?
All the Star Wars movies (yes, even Phantom Menace)
Maverick
White Men Can't Jump
Army of Darkness
Mortal Kombat
just to name a few

I just wanted to point out that someone thought the Fourth Three Ninjas movie needed to be transferred to HD. IUt's been sitting on the Comcast OnDemand list for weeks.

None. After buying quite a few films that were not shot in HD, the detail is about the same on an upscaled DVD, since that s essentially what they're doing.
If they still have the master audio, yes, that is much better. But until the film studios find a better upconverting process, I don't really care.

The detail on an upscaled DVD is nowhere fucking near Blu Ray.
Pretty Woman
Beerfest
K-PAX
Terms of Endearment

Not in general no, but I'm talking like 1990's films that have been upscaled for transfer to Blu-Ray. Maybe I got some movies with a bad transfer. (28 Days Later, Evil Dead 2 and Ghost In The Shell look just as good as an upscaled DVD)
But yeah, on newer films, Blu-Ray kicks upscaled DVDs ass, as it should.

You're looking at some fairly big files though. Not sure on authoring them to an actual Blu-Ray disc to play in a Blu-Ray player mind you. I've burnt them on Blu-Ray and just kept them as PC files to run.

Old movies shouldn't be upscaled, they should be shot from the original prints. The catch, of course, is that it's still going to have any flaws from the source.
