I just saw them live on a casual whim last night, only having heard "Steady as She Goes" and "Straight and Narrow", and I must say, it was one of the best shows I've seen in my entire life. They kicked serious amounts of ass.
Now, the next step is to get into their library a bit. Can anybody help me with this? What are the names of all their best shit? I just downloaded their new album, and I'm loving it so far.
Discuss, advise....whatever.

They've only got one other album anyway, so you're not going to be spoiled for choice.

I think they have two albums, but you might as well just get the newest one. "Consolers of the Lonely". It is supposed to be good. I didn't like it though for some reason, but I only listened to it once over.

Broken Boy Soliders is the first album. I think I prefer the new one.
They are great live, but Brendan Benson's live vocal is crap. Which is a shame, since most of the time, Jack White is trying to filter the attention equally. Shade of Black is an example of this. His vocal is great on the record, but he can't sing it live.
They have a good mix of melodic and Rawwkin' songs. I don't think I've ever heard anything with Jack White's hand to it that I haven't loved.

"You Don't Understand Me" is unreal, for the record.

So is the new album less terrible than the first?

Maybe. Whatever. You're terrible.

All I'm saying is that the live show is awesome. Even a quintessential naysayer like Kane Knight would have enjoyed himself there.

No he wouldn't. But like that matters anyway!
You got the first album yet, ABT? Let's have a review!

Well, I listened to the entire second album, and it was pretty OK, but then I got sidetracked becaused I downloaded Light Grenades from Incubus and have been pretty into it. I'll get back around to it soon enough.

I think both cds are great, but it took a couple of replays to really get into them. Until now do I really enjoy the Consolers cd. It's something about their catchy country jamboree band. The first, though, I am still in love with as all the songs are great on it.
They also have two covers, one of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" and the other is this one. Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" aka that Kill Bill Song.

I thought that was pretty gash until the last 40 seconds to be honest, but still, I blame Nancy :D
