Vince McMahon wasn’t pleased with his own performance on this week’s edition of RAW during the million dollar giveaway segments and neither was anyone else in the company. “In some ways it highlighted the problems of the company. I felt bad for him. It was depressing,” said one source within the company. “This is getting really scary and it’s getting like WCW.”

The idea of featuring Charlie Haas as a special guest was pitched by the creative staff as a rib, as Vince has stated to the writers in the past that he’d rather watch paint dry than watch Haas. The idea of those two appearing on camera together was meant to be a joke, which Vince apparently got a kick out of and approved of.

Nice boss Charlie's got there. If you think he's boring Vince, your a little delusional cause he's not half as lame as watching you try to be entertaining. On the bright side for Haas, he's getting paid lots and doesn't have to put much effort in cause Vince is too much of a 'sports entertainer' to use him to his full potential.

You definitely know your promotion is in trouble when even Ric Flair has retired.

Charlie Haas IS boring.

Beyond that... when you're attempting to bribe people to watch your show, you should already know you're in trouble.

LOL. yeah, Vince is a knob for thinking Charlie is boring. That's the problem.

Why is it shocking to you to find out Vince is a knob?

I dunno. I think Haas is pretty fun. :-\

BDC THINKS THIS ALL REEKS OF VINCE BEING DUMB!!!! SERIOUSLY, IS GIVING A MILLION DOLLARS AWAY EVERY MONDAY CHEAPER THAN HIRING A DECENT WRITING TEAM THAT AT LEAST RESPECTS THE FANS?

I AM YELLING BECAUSE I AM ANGRY.

HOW DOES VINCE NOT KNOW HOW TO DAIL A FUCKING PHONE?!?! HE REMINDED ME OF MR. BURNS TRYING TO DAIL A FUCKING PHONE WHEN SMITHER'S GAVE HOMER HIS JOB FOR A WEEK SO SMITHERS COULD GET A HOTDOG IN HIS BUNS. SHIT COCK.

Why is it shocking to him to find out someone finds Haas boring?

(Seriously, before anyone gets too butthurt, I like Haas. He's awesome in the ring. But he's the kind of guy who gets labeled with "No Charisma" because people think wrestling is dumb and judge a guy based on his promos. Is it really that surprising that Vince, who cares about things like "workrate" every bit as much as your average Hulkamaniac, finds Haas boring?)

Londoner

I'm not surprised at all, just shocked that others find it surprising that Vince should be like this. Wasn't aiming that post at you btw kk but the OP..

I'm not surprised at all

Note I said 'him,' rather than 'you.' I think it's fairly clear who I was aiming at. Or at least, who I wasn't aiming at.

Wow

I personally find Haas interesting. He reminds me of one of those jocks who also got straight A's, and all the pussy in high school. Also, it's great that Vince keeps Haas hired if he finds him so boring.

Afterlife
06-12-2008, 06:02 AM
He's probably afraid Haas would get Christian treatment in TNA and actually look like aserious contender. This would hurt his ego, and we can't have that.

I hate to exploit real life pain, but if they wanted to get some emotion out of Haas, and get the fans behind him, just tell the story of his brother passing away under WWE contract. Pretty much his RC Haas gimmick in the development territories.

I remember seeing the Haas Brothers at Axxess before WM18 I think it was, they were awesome, had a peculiar cult following as well.

Its funny that inside source says its gettin like wCw....

i recently read Death of wCw, the wrestlecrap book, and it actually said in there that wCw planned to give away a million $$$ on certain shows, but cancelled the idea before it ever got sorted. Its wierd how both companies thought of ways to increase ratings without looking at the wrestling itself first, or the wrestlers!

TBH that show was horrible! The best bit of it was when you heard a kid shout out BORING!! when vince got the number wrong the 3rd time i think.

Is WWE really going the way wCw did?? your thoughts please.....

BigDaddyCool
06-16-2008, 05:51 PM
WWE still has one thing wCw never had, a guy that is in complete control. The buck stops with Vince for better or worse. So at least there is accountablity...in some form.

KingofKings

I dont think Vince is as obssesed with ratings as Bischof was either, obviously they are important for various reasons, but Bishcof was too hung up on them.

Vince is accountable in the loosest sense only. He passes the buck internally. Hell, he passed it publically. As far as complete control, that's utter bullshit. If he had complete control, shit he wasn't aware of wouldn't get on TV so often. You know, like Cruiserweights.

Afterlife
06-16-2008, 07:31 PM
Also, there is a board of directors, is there not? That would imply he can be out-voted on certain issues.

Kane Knight
06-16-2008, 07:48 PM
Between Vince and Linda, they're not getting out-voted, overturned, vetoed, or burned at the stake.

Afterlife

Well, I dunno. I'm only guessing/asking.

Afterlife
06-16-2008, 07:53 PM
But, if he's not getting vetoed and whatnot, then how is he not virtually in "complete control"?

Kane Knight

But, if he's not getting vetoed and whatnot, then how is he not virtually in "complete control"?

Easy.

Vince McMahon can't get overturned, but that isn't the same as actually being aware of and controlling every aspect of his empire. Accepting that even a tenth of the news reports are true, a lot of shit gets on TV that Vince doesn't know about, let alone approve of. He's not vetoed, he's not overruled, he's just sometimes distant and out of touch with his own company.

I'm not even sure why you'd think the two were similar enough to be contradictory.

NeanderCarl
06-16-2008, 09:45 PM
From what I gather, Vince is only hands-on with his TV product at the main event level, and has been since the 80s. The undercarders are just mechanics, cogs in the wheel, left to somebody elses devices.

Anytime the WWE product has had a hot undercard scene, it has been thanks to talented bookers/writers other than Vince, such as Pat Patterson, Vince Russo, Terry Garvin et al.

Not saying he takes NO interest, just a passing interest.

I never said they were contradictory. I was asking you to clarify, that's all. I'd think things would need to be brought to his attention for him to vote/allow/etc in favor of said decisions.

I mean, the best part is most of these things you don't understand are very easy to research, very simply explained, and readily available.
