Not bad, WiiSports 2 will do well as a tech demo like the last one (I dig the sword fighting, however baby-fied). No Mario, Zelda, Samus; kind of a let down. No footage on the DS GTA is a blow to the chin, c'mon. Overall I see more possibilites with WiiSpeak and Motion+ than what was demoed.

Business wise I guess they're on the right track.

Seriously all I really play the Wii for is VC and WiiWare and even then I don't play it nearly as much as my PSP and 360.

Plus I see a future where people are forced to buy extra haircuts, clothes and accessories for their guys. Lame. On to the games: most of the titles I wanted to hear about were discussed and dates released plus FFXIII. One less reason to spend on a PS3. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exclusive to any one console maker (I plan on having all 3 systems), but I'm not made of money, so you better have that bang for my buck or it's not happening.

Speaking of which, how about Nintendo being up their own ass about their sales with nothing really stand out to show this year? I only use my brother's Wii as a gamecube and for Smash Bros Brawl at this point. That's bad after being out for 2 years. Also, the PS3 is a definite eventual purchase, but I still don't have enough stand out exclusive titles to warrant spending money on it.

Yeah, I agree. I bought the Wii because I expected them to do something with it. I have like 5 games plus the Wii Sports game that came with it and a few VC games.

I'm fine with the PS3 because I don't need games to enjoy it. As a BD player, it's great. I'd like more games, but at least I can do something awesome with it. Microsoft is dominating this generation, and it's mostly because Sony had their heads up their asses (Our ardware is so 1337, you cannot program it!) and Nintendo still does (Our hardware outsells yours, even though we haven't sold any games recently!).

I've got 20 games on my coffee table. Some are available for the PS3 or will be, but most are exclusives or the superior versions of multiplatform games. Or, of course, games now shifting over.

I still haven't bothered with most of the "big" PS3 games. MGS4 is a fucking joke.

Then you will be dissapointed. Yeah it was the same old story basically but most games are, no matter how many sequels come out.
Mario will always be saving Peach, GTA characters will always be trying to become Mr Bossman in their city and FPS games will always be about a one man army.

My only issues with TP was the lack of anything outside the main quest and the music not being as awesome as it could have been. Look at Mario Galaxy to see how Zelda games should have the music. Namely, orchastra. If Mario can do it then surely Zelda, of all things on the Wii, should have that.

Yeah, but nintendo really takes the unoriginality in plot much further than your other examples.

Which is isn't a terrible thing considering that these games are more about gameplay, and they truly deliver in that aspect.

But even thats starting to get unoriginal. For instance, how much do you wanna bet the next crop of games from Nintendos big series feature a game with light and dark worlds. Again.

Yeah, gotta disagree somewhat with Kane Knight's reservations about it. Read up on it quite a bit, and while the basic tools probably won't let you do a whole lot, the advanced mixing studio sounds really deep. Intimidatingly so.

There wasn't enough interactive NPC's in villages, it felt kind of lonely, especially in Kakariko Village. Lack of voice work, and the similarity to OoT didn't help ether. Not too mention the story wasn't deep enough to fully immerse yourself into the game and actually care about what happens to the characters, such a thing is possible in this genre though, Okami is proof of that.

I didn't hate the game, (could never hate a "nintendo" zelda game) but I wasn't blown away like I was with OoT or LA for instance.

"There isn't anything that we can announce right now, but I'm sure we'll probably do something with it," Miyamoto said of a Wii Pikmin sequel. "The Pikmin team is, of course, still there and maybe we'll have something to talk about before too long." We like the sound of that.
In regard to a new New Super Mario Bros. for DS, Miyamoto tried to throw us off guard with trickery about not being able to announce unfinished projects. "That team is also working hard," he said. "The thing that's difficult is that, as you know, the way we handle our announcement is we work on product and once the product is at a state where we feel it's ready to show to people, then that's when we're willing to talk about it. Which is why it's difficult for me to talk about different projects in interviews. I have a lot of different teams and those teams are all at different points in their experiments or development, so it's typically once they've finalized something that we're able to talk about it. But for me to go into too much detail would be a little bit irresponsible in an interview. All that I can say is that that team is also working."

When we pressed him for more, Miyamoto added, "Maybe the best thing for you to understand is that all of the leaders of those teams -- of the Mario team, of the Zelda team and of the Pikmin team -- all sit within 150 feet of my desk. The Galaxy team is the only one that's farther away -- they're in Tokyo. But I do have video conferencing with them." We stunned him with a hard-hitting follow-up: 'We don't really have a question. We just want you to make another Galaxy game.' To this, Miyamoto replied, "Leave it to me."

Miyamoto goes ahead and pretty much confirms a new Zelda and Mario for Wii.

Shigeru Miyamoto has told MTV that Nintendo plan to release further Mario and Zelda games for Wii.

After the E3 conference - where Satoru Iwata revealed that the Mario and Zelda teams were working on new projects - Miyamoto said "in the past we haven't really had much opportunity to release two Mario titles or two Zelda titles on a single hardware system. Our plan is to try to do that with Wii. With that in mind, the teams are working hard at this point."

He also said that Mario and Zelda games take two to three years to develop.

I remember reading an interview with one of the makers of Mario Galaxy saying there were lots of things they wanted to put into Mario Galaxy, but didn't because some of them didn't feel right in the game. I'd be surprised if Nintendo released two proper Mario games on the Wii because they've only released one per system since the SNES. I'm a little disappointed that they never released a new Super Mario game for GBA.

Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed that Nintendo is making a new Pikmin game. Answering questions about core franchises at a secret E3 press conference yesterday, Miyamoto revealed that the classic GameCube title will be making a return.

"I'm actually on the same floor as all of my staff," said Miyamoto. "Among those staff, there's staff from the Pikmin team, staff from the Zelda team, and they're all enjoying creating new games."

"We continue with investigating all types of games. When it's time to announce such a title, I'll announce it - so look forward to it."

Then he announced: "We're making Pikmin."

This is great news and those who would have like more announcements at the E3 conference can rest easy in the knowledge that there are plenty of exciting new titles on the way.


Why couldn't they have mentioned Pikmin or other wanted games at the conference instead of waiting until now? Still, good news with Zelda, Mario and Pikmin getting new games.

Yup, and DiRT. The only mode ever played online by anyone is Destruction Derby mode and, although there are only 2 tracks in that mode, they both have overlapping ramps for the fun of mid-air T-Bones :D

Flatout's awesome if you can get it cheap, since we're talking less realistic driving. The main game isn't terrible, but it's the bonus games and demo shit that really shine.

There is never really much to bring you back to them I always find. Like you'll play for a while and think "Hmm this is fun" but by about the 10th race you find yourself in the same shitty Honda and getting bored of having to do the same $3000 race just to upgrade your car.

That said I did love GT4 and was addicted to it for a few weeks but after playing GT5 Prologue for a bit I just can't bring myself to really go for the better cars, just takes far too long.

I liked Burnout Paradise and I prefered the free-roam, but the lack of crash mode really put me off it.

When DiRT came out, it put me off the unrealistic crashes of Burnout completley. That destruction derby mode with it's real crashes that look MORE over the top than Burnout, yet have real physics behind it, look that more spectacular.

Burnout was made for the crash mode. They need to do a sequel to Flatout with more insane mini0games as well :D
