-- TNA Impact beat ECW in the ratings this week. Thursday's Impact drew a 1.03 cable rating. Tuesday's ECW episode drew a 0.99 rating.

Hmmm. Maybe Vince will beef up ECW tomorrow night?

Or, he'll punish it and strip any real talent from it.

Vince: Hell, I'd watch a titty show over ECW too.

Creative Member: ...TNA's a wrestling promotion.

Vince: ...................... Noooooo.... Really!?

Or Star up Thousand Dollar Mania.

Well, he's not going to bribe people as much to watch the third tier product as he is to watch the flagshit show.

To be honest, WWE should be embarrassed that TNA can draw even remotely close to Anything they offer for programming any day of the week. AM Raw should outdraw TNA. Heat should outdraw TNA, and it's no longer aired--not to mention being an online product.

WWE is a motherfucking franchise, and the fact that a show full of nobodies and major-league castoffs can establish itself as well as a show that carries an established name and has far more support is nothing short of a joke.

WWE is in an asskicking contest, and struggles to outdo the one-legged man. What does that say about them? And what does the fact that they're okay with that say about them?

To be fair, if you look at the actual number of viewers, WWE did win, but ECW did have the bigger share on that night, but they are based on seperate nights.

But I'm glad either way, I want TNA to do better

Not saying I disagree, but TNA needs to fail before they realize that they need to change shit up.

Same with WWE in fact, but I think if TNA started to bomb in the ratings they'd be more inclined to do a complete turn-around much quicker than WWE.

TNA has some decent stars such as Angle, Christian, Dudleyz, they're the only reasons i tune into impact, they're good at promos especially. Its no surprise to me they're beating ECW. Just wish Russo wasn't a part of TNA.

Clearly, NBA and WWE have no common fans. The only reason that TNA beat ECW is because WWE is horrible. Quit with the strawman and bring the beef.

The way I see it is that the fans don't care about ECW just like WWE doesn't care about ECW. To WWE, ECW is just...there. They don't really go out of their way to promote the show. In fact really the only times I've seen WWE promote ECW (I mean actually show a video promoting the show and not just during commercials) in the last 12 months is either when someone from Raw shows up on ECW like Ric Flair or Vince McMahon and when Punk won the ECW Title from Morrison after the whole Signature Pharmacy scandal.

And from what I remember the episode where they promoted Punk vs. Morrison on Raw, that episode of ECW showed a decent spike in the ratings. I mean it wasn't earth shattering or anything but it's still a good spike considering it featured two guys who aren't really established in the company. *cue Punk outpopped Jesus joke here*

To me and quite a few people who actually watch ECW each week, ECW generally puts on the better wrestling product on a weekly basis. But like I said, WWE just doesn't really care about the brand so they don't go out of their way to promote it. And with the fans you have different ends of the spectrum.

1. The fans who were die hard ECW fans who got turned off the WWE-ized ECW because it's nothing like the original.

2. The fans who don't watch because they aren't familiar with the majority of the roster. Or at least to the point where they will tune in every week to see them. The lone star that ECW has made since its inception is C.M. Punk, but even then most fans won't tune in just to see him because he's not established enough. He'll make the sporadic appearance on Smackdown and the tri-monthly appearance on Raw. Kofi is gaining a fan base which they need to build upon because he's going to be their main young star once Punk gets drafted tonight (assuming he will).

3. The fans who just forget that ECW even exists since WWE fails to mention the brand most of the time.

4. The fans who watches all WWE programming regardless and those who actually remember that it's on. And even then I will forget that ECW is on every now and then.

If anything, TNA should be beating ECW in the ratings easily every week. Hell by now they should be able to compete with Smackdown. TNA's been around for over half of the decade and Impact's been around for years. They've brought in guys like Kurt Angle, Booker T, The Dudleys, and Christian yet they are still stuck losing to the bastard WWE program more often than not. TNA's got the talent to at least kick ECW's ass every week in the ratings and come close to Smackdown's ratings in the process.

TNA is doing shows overseas and are holding PPVs in bigger arenas now. They have no excuse putting up these ratings on their only show each week. Yeah Kurt Angle can do an interview saying they beat ECW in the ratings, but that's like boasting about beating a wheelchaired individual in a sack race.

"YAY!! WE BEAT ECW IN THE RATINGS!!!"

"So? Come back when you can beat Smackdown and then we'll talk about it."

What's sad but true about that is that if Vince cared about it it would degrade into the booking mess that RAW is.

If you notice, RAW is pretty much shit, SmackDown!'s decent and ECW is even better than SmackDown!... The less Vince likes a project the better it is from a booking standpoint, mainly because I'd assume he has less of a hand in the latter two. (I think this can also be seen with the failure of the XFL.)

RAW's his baby that he's fucked up by babying it and SmackDown! and ECW are his adopted, neglected kids that needed to learn to do stuff on their own and are better off because of it.

So...TNA should come back in three weeks, KooS?

;)

No, but seriously, don't confuse apathy for lack of ability. WWE are clearly concerned with ECW and want it to do better, they're just unable to do so. They've made several concerted efforts, the most recent being the plan to move ECW to Raw in hopes of better exposure. The major problem is that exposure won't really change anything.

Exactly.

And that was a point I forgot to bring up.

Raw is the show that gets the most attention and generally ends up a mess.

Smackdown gets the half-ass treatment and is usually hit or miss every week. Basically it's the WWE version of Impact, one week could be entertaining and the next week could flat out suck.

ECW generally puts out a good wrestling show each week and you hardly see any kind of attention being paid to it by the company.

Maybe they should just stop trying on Raw, maybe it'll be better that way.
