Dark Match:
* Vladamir Kozlov b. Trevor Murdoch
Before the match, Murdoch sang God Bless America

SmackDown: (Airing Friday 07/04)
* Michael Cole comes out to ringside to say "goodbye" to SmackDown fans. Jim Ross interrupts him, and boots him out for being a Texas fan. Here comes Mick Foley.

* The show opens with Triple H in MVP's V.I.P Lounge. Hunter calls MVP a power ranger and shows the video of Edge losing the World Championship. He then says Edge got "Punked up."

* Edge comes out and says he is happy for his and Vickie's wedding. He says they should go to Las Vegas. I'm told Vickie is drawing a ton of heat, making it very hard to hear what is going on. Triple H interrupts by saying he would never sleep with Vickie but she is nicer looking than any other woman Edge has ever been with. Triple H vs. Edge is then set up for The Great American Bash pay-per-view later this month.

* Michelle McCool b. Victoria, Kelly Kelly, Maryse, & Cherry in a golden dreams match.
McCool will now face Natalya for the new diva championship title.

* Jesse & Festus b. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder
Festus got the pin for the win. After the match Edge comes to the ring and cleans house on Jesse & Festus.

* They cut to a video segment of Edge arguing with Vickie.

* Jeff Hardy b. John Morrison
I'm told Hardy got the win after hitting the Swanton.

* Umaga b. Funaki in a squash match.

* Matt Hardy b. Shelton Benjamin, Chavo Guerrero, & Ken Kennedy is in a fatal four way match to retain the United States Championship.

* Edge comes out and says this is a bunch of crap. He says he will be WWE Champion at The Great American Bash and goes on to say that he made Vickie, Ryder, and Hawkins what they were and no one likes him because he's a warrior.

Vickie comes out and Edge tells her the wedding is off.

:| It must be a swerve or something. No way they cancel the wedding that suddenly. It almost seems as if Edge failed a drug test or something since he dropped his title and his wedding in the span of a week. :o

Yeah, this is probably going towards "Oh noes Edge doesn't hav teh general manager in his cornr anymores how wil he win teh titel!!!11"

Also, they should just have called it a Golden Shower match and been done with it.

That makes complete since as Edge also just got inserted into the headlining Mainevent at Summer Slam.

Nope, he was inserted into the main event of GAB. I can very well see Edge jobbing, and then "taking a month off" since he's lost everything. WWE have been known to hold off on enforcing a suspension until they can actually be written off.

I meant Great American Bash.

Yeah, it just baffles me that they would end both things Edge had going for him so quickly. I initially saw Punk being the token guy who interrupts the wedding, revealing Edge cheated or something...and setting up a cash in for GAB that way...so that's how they go about ending the angles.

Guess I should reserve judgment until I see SD for myself, these spoilers aren't exactly detailed.

If he fails the test then he would not be allowed to compete at the Great American Bash hence technically he isn't another victim of the Wellness Policy. I guess this is a move to make Vickie babyface or the other way around.

It makes sense to me. Edge is pissed because he got his title taken. He roughed up Hawkins and Rider on Raw. It makes sense that he would still be irrate with and get into a fight with Vicky. I mean everything is in Edge's character of using people to get him where he his and then say he made them. It is totally in character.

Maybe Edge turns face and Triple H goes for the long rumored heel turn. I think a Triple H/Vickie Guerrero combination would draw huge heat and it could almost kind of shadow his real life relationship with Stephanie.

I don't think Edge will turn face, He's getting major heat and is smackdown's biggest heel at the moment. And HHH and Vickie just wouldn't work look what happend to Chyna and HHH.

Fox

No, Vickie is Smackdown's biggest heel at the moment. I mean, Edge draws some good heat by himself, but Vickie alone draws more than he does, and together they just ratchet the whole thing up to another level.

Put Vickie with anybody in a "position of power" and you'll see the next top heel on SD.

Also, I do not understand your Chyna/HHH comparison.

One more reason Triple H is better than you...

Mr. Nerfect
07-04-2008, 11:43 PM
It was actually a good show. Damn good, really. The opening segment made me like Triple H. I didn't want him to fuck off or shut up after the promo. MVP showed signs of a face character in it, which made me mark out. Triple H was poking fun at MVP, but in more of a "whoa, relax dude kind of way." And then Triple H showed a clip of CM Punk winning the World Heavyweight Title, and he and MVP went back and forth making jokes about how Edge got "Punk'd." Triple H also makes some great inside jabs at himself. I paraphrase Triple H to Vickie: "There is a lot I admire about Edge. I mean, marrying the boss to get ahead in this business?" *cue MVP giving Triple H a sidways look.* Another that was great:

Vickie: Edge has done some things that you will never do, Hunter.
Triple H: Well, by the looks of it, there are lot of things Edge would do that I wouldn't do.

Vickie Guerrero gets tremendous heat, by the way. Everytime she went to speak, epic boos. I don't know what it is, but something about that woman adds up to more than the sum of her parts. She's not a bad actor all things considered, either.

The John Morrison vs. Jeff Hardy match was a good one, too. They told a story that wasn't really played up enough on commentary, with John Morrison knowing everything Jeff Hardy would do before he did it. There was a great flying hurricanrana countered into a sit-down powerbomb spot, too.

I kind of made a slight against the commentary before.Don't take that the wrong way, the commentary was great throughout the show for the most part. Mick Foley is the best color commentator currently working, and Jim Ross was switched on throughout the night. He really put over a lot of talent. I've got to say that I was a little upset about a remark he made in reference to Chavo Guerrero that made me question what the fuck Chavo did to JR. It was at the beginning of the Fatal Four Way, when JR said: "...Chavo Guerrero, who I think we can all agree is the least likely to win this match." It just sounded like he was selling Chavo short, which was frustrating most of all because Chavo was technically the only "World Champion" in that match. JR should have been putting over Chavo's history and the like. I dunno, maybe I heard wrong.

The Golden Dreams match featured a nice spot, as well, between three ladies that I would not have expected it from. A double electric chair from Cherry and Kelly Kelly on Maryse. Whoever is helping out these ladies deserves a large sack of money.

Edge taking his frustrations out all throughout the night was great, and was some really good work from Edge, and Vickie Guerrero. I read somewhere that it might be a set-up by Edge and Vickie to take the WWE Title from Triple H at The Great American Bash. The way Vickie Guerrero introduced Edge as Triple H's challenger at TGAB, though, made me think that we might see other people added to the WWE Title match at the PPV. We'll see what happens, as that will be an indicator of just where the WWE are going.

By the way, Vickie and Edge were both unmistakably both remaining in heel character through this. Edge was put over as a real asshole, and Vickie was taking shots at the fans right until the very end. If anything, I hope this leads to a face turn for Chavo.

Wasn't this Finlay's old job? Maybe he's back on it with how all he's doing is teaming with Swog.

And, from what I hear, he doesn't need ANOTHER large sack of money.

Another part that was hilarious was the part where Triple H recommends to Vickie if she is a bit stressed about the weeding, she and Edge could go to Vegas, and that he knows a good place that has a drive-thru, and you don't even need to be conscious to go though with it.

Very solid show from everyone.

THe only 2 negatives: I don't like Natalya's new hair...guess they thought she looked too much like Beth Phoenix....and also the Divas Title is atrocious. You legit can't even say you are holding gold because the entire damn thing is pink and silver. :o

The opening segment was good, but a little flat at times. HHH seemed a little off (while still being funny).

Vickie Guerrero is probably getting the most heat in the company right now.

The Divas belt may be the worst title belt I've ever seen.
http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/8620/shittybelteq2.png

If they wanted a butterfly shape for the belt, they could have used a different shape. Somewhat l ike this:
http://www.theanimaljewelry.com/theanimaljewelry/ring-butterfly.jpg
but make it more belt like (rounded). Basically, they could have made it one big piece of flashy jewelry similar to the shitty bling belt HHH currently has.... because girls are gold digging whores and need expensive jewelery.

I saw bits and pieces after the fatal four way started. How was that match?

Last night was actually a solid show in my opinion. I really like psycho Edge more than whiny and scared Edge. That chairshot to Festus was pretty sick looking.

The opening promo was good as well. I found myself lol-ing when HHH was making comments about Edge, that were about him like marrying someone to get ahead in the company.

Really the only thing I hated on the show, was showing Vickie screaming for a couple minutes before the show officially ended.

I think sending HHH and Jim Ross to SD was the best move for this show. The familiarity of seeing those guys on SD give the show some major cred.

Holy fucking flying shitballs that belt is hideous.

Mr. Nerfect
07-06-2008, 06:57 AM
I don't think the belt is going to have a long life. I completely expect it to be unified with the Women's Championship before too long. But yeah, Natalya and Victoria feuding over the belt (one of the best friends turns on the other) would be a damn hot feud, and would make that thing damn prestigious. I don't think it is the best title design ever, or anything, but I think the WWE wanted something different for this belt, just so it is not interchangeable with the other female championship.

I wish they had gone with a name like "WWE Ladies' Championship," or something. Fuck, call it the "X-Chromosome Division Title," or something.

He used to help train the women a lot. Not sure if he still does. His move to ECW (when ECW and RAW move-in together) will certainly effect that. Not entirely sure if he still does it. I could see Dean Malenko doing it, to be honest.
