You get lots of TV time and lots of time to show your charisma and you get an oppertunity to work with the company's biggest stars. But you're also the biggest jobber and have had your ass kicked by Divas, Midgets, Legends and almost everyone on the roster.
I'd be happy if I was Funaki

He gets paid well for being the comic relief. So yeah, I would.
I would rather be myself than be someone else.
Santino's promos > anyone elses.
Santino: And thats the bottom lines cause Santino Marella said so!
Austin: That is bottom line and not bottom lines...
Santino: I like to say more than one thing at the same time
:lol:Priceless.

the thing is, he gets his ass handed to him time and time again and still is over as hell and gets real heat. not a lot of people like him right now. He's the Honky Tonk Man of this generation.

Shadup-a your face!
If you aren't gonna be a top star, might as well be a comedy figure. If you watch Santino, he rarely bumps a lot in one match and has a lack of ring time. Usually a bigger comedy bump and then comedy heel shit. Smart wrestling.
EVERYONE has to see the Santino's Casa episode when he talks on Ellen "Degenerate".

"OMGZ IF U R NOT TEH WRLD HEVYWAIT CHAMION U R BEING USED RONG AND U MUST HAV TEH HEATZ"
My response:
Santino is a staple of TV programming of the top wrestling program in the world. He gets an excellent paycheck for little work (compared to some guys.) He's an IWC darling and a guy casual fans love to hate. He's been IC champion. He's done pretty high-profile spots with Steve Austin. It may not be what he's always dreamed of, but I doubt he's too depressed.
Despite what a lot of people seem to think, there is a place for a comedic personality in wrestling. It doesn't take much effort to turn a high-profile comedy guy into a credible champion; I direct your attention to a particular guy whose finisher involved a sock painted like a referee shirt.

Santino's charisma is so great, that the guy could job to ANYONE...and he'd still be way over (not sure how long this will last though.....eventually, all characters...as brilliant as they are...get stale).
Having said that - Santino is far and away my favourite WWE character right now. I haven't had a hard-on for a wrestler like this since Orton of 04'.

YOU ARE NOT THE BATMAN
"The funny guy" can only make it so far in this business.
Even Mick had his hardcore shit going for him far before he became a funny guy.

Since this is becoming a Santino quote thread:
To Sandman: You just a-jealous because I make-a love to beautifiul Maria... and you make-a love a-to your stick!

Santino is greatness. I'd be pretty happy if I were him, because I get to pick up a check whilst consistently being one of the most entertaining elements of the show. His job is pretty safe, at the moment, and he still gets to say he is the only wrestler to ever win the IC Title in his WWE debut.

He also got to date Maria on-screen. He's also had promo time against The Rock (HOF '08) and Stone Cold. He's not doing badly. If it weren't for his DUI he may have gone further.
I just think its a shame they won't even push him a little bit. He's jobbed to everyone. If he ever goes up against Val Venis its 50/50 who will win.

These guys are out to make money. Not "win" fake matches. So I doubt he cares about being jobbed. He is a heat machine, which means he does his job better than most. He gets paid well I assume, and they are talking about giving him a stable/push. He is just about where any wrestler would want to be. While Im sure he would like the payoffs of a World champ, this guy is loving life right now.
Santino is just like Honkey Tonk, Bobby Heenan, and Flair in the late 80s. He can draw heat out of anything and make the other guy look like a winner because he is beating the heat machine. While he has a logn way to go to be remembered like those guys, it has been a long time since someone can get heat like he does just standing there. They need to give him a Hoss, and let him Heenan Family up Raw vs Punk.

He'd still be happier if he joined the KLIQ.

His DUI hasn't hurt him in the slightest. If anything, it provided more comic relief.
