God he looks like a tool without his mask.

Actually I mentioned this when he had his title run in WWE.

I remembered Rey Mysterio very well back then because that was his whole "giant killer" gimmick. He was 5'2, and after losing his mask, he started beating people cleanly like Kevin Nash and Bam Bam Bigelow. By the time this match happened in WCW, I (and probably quite a few other fans) were actually thinking for a moment that Rey was really going to beat Flair. On top of that, Rey at 5'2 was considered to an extent stronger than the 14-Time Champion Ric Flair.

I look at this time in Rey's career as a blueprint that Rey Mysterio can be a creditable main eventer and World Champion. The only thing is...don't build him like an underdog bitch.

uhh, Rey Mysterio sucks. Ever since he became this Rey Mysterio, I haven't liked him. so ever since he lost the mask and I've hated him in WWE

Ahh, I was still more or less a mark at this point. Totally thought Rey was about to win it. :(

Fuckin hate it when the ref gets pulled out at 2 though, so obvious. Especially since they always seem to go out of their way to position themselves in front of the person interfering. :o

I remember this match. It was so hot. If he'd won that night I'd have died from all the marking out.

I remember watching this on Nitro and getting really pissed off when AA stuck his nose in the match.

Reason #234 Why Ric Flair Was The Man: He made fans believe Rey Mysterio could beat him for the World Heavyweight Championship on a night where Rey had absolutely no chance.

I remember this match because I was a huge Mysterio mark and I was jumping up and down when he went up for that Frankensteiner. After Arn screwed him out of the match I got pissed and started yelling.

I guess it's only me who loves the water round by the ring? WCW was different... yeah, in some ways. Different........

Pretty good stuff :y:

Makes me really miss WCW, even in the bad times, at least there was something else to watch...
