Yeah, just wondering if there are any real industrial fans out there, don't give me any of that Marylyn Manson shit, I'm talking Feindflug, KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, TERRORFAKT, Funker Vogt (some stuff is ind.), Ministry, Machinae Supremacy, Panzer AG etc.

Any offshoots too, into synthpop and futurepop, EBM, terror ebm?

Nothing more than Nine Inch Nails really, but I'm open to some suggestions for anything similar.

thats pretty nice, I like how parts of the grate are bent.

on tuesday i saw an air con unit with a nice amount of rust on it and a broken fan blade, smallest amount of vapour coming fromt the tops, had to get a few snaps of it, was incredible.

I was somewhat into Ministry back in the day but I was devoting most of my time to other stuff at the time and I never really got around to doing the whole industrial thing properly

My opinion has always been fairly indifferent on them. Could never figure out if they just suck or blow.

Someone suggest me some 'best of the best' industrial. NIN has quickly become one of my favorite bands since I started listening to them. Seriously have had their CDs on rotation ever since. Don't feel like going through all the ones listed so far though.. so someone give me like 3 or 4 amazing industrial acts to give a listen to.

NIN are what I would call artsy industrial. They're very kind of pop/rock as far as industrial goes. For real machine hate style Industrial go for TERRORFAKT, for classic, solid industrial check out Skinny Puppy or KMFDM. (KMFDM being more Industrial Metal)

Not gonna lie, the few songs I listened to from each of those groups didn't do it for me. Either too electronica/techno-ish for me, or too metal ala KMFDM.

That's pretty much as industrial as it gets. Like I said, NIN aren't really industrial, coldwave or any of those. Just Experimental rock.

Guess I'm not 'cut out' for it then. I mean, I like my electronic sounding music, but in what I listened to that's pretty much mostly what it was. I guess the appeal of NIN to me is that they play real instruments, just heavily distorted and with the help of electronic altering... etc. That and the use of real instruments when performing live, but still able to recreate the sounds they made in a studio. That, and Reznor's voice did it for me a lot more than what I heard. Was hoping to find something similar to them. :(

Yeah, some examples of Industrial are:

Feindflug - AK47 (Forget the video, nothing to do with Feindflug)

Funker Vogt - The Third War

Skinny Puppy - Icebreaker

<object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LZRMJ_gXasc&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LZRMJ_gXasc&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="349"></embed></object>

Panzer AG - Bereit (Once again, video has nothing to do with song)

<object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wDLK91qYy2c&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wDLK91qYy2c&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="349"></embed></object>

KMFDM - A Drug Against War (Video is just KMFDM artwork stuck together, not the actual music video)

<object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/855QLTV2Rj4&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/855QLTV2Rj4&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="349"></embed></object>

As you can see they're all pretty different, if you're more into vocals, you might like Chemlab, who I think are fucking incredible. Jared Louche is an artist and a fucking god, incredible lyrics.

Chemlab - Codeine, Glue and You
