Yeah I think this is the first time I'm gonna have to miss Warped in the past 5 years. No big names that I'd be willing to buy a ticket for and stand in the sun all day to watch. There are a few bands on the bill that I'd like to see, but usually the payoff is a big name band to watch later on. Maybe next year.

I'm going cause my friend has never been and is dying to go at least once. A lot of really good bands are skipping out on the Boston date (A Day To Remember, Alkaline Trio, Valencia, MCS, etc). Luckily there are some sweet bands still going like Angels & Airwaves, Say Anything, Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals, Anberlin, All Time Low, and others. I've never seen Say Anything, so I'm pumped they're playing.

The lineups from the past 2 years haven't been as good in my opinion though.

I believe it's Bittersweet Memory.

Check their wiki.

There's also some remixes floating around, including an alternate mix of Breaking off the new album, and a new mix of The Feel Good Drag, which is also supposed to be included. Plus remixes of Hello Alone and The Unwinding Cable Car.

It started raining when I was there too. Luckily it was after I saw most of the bands I wanted to see (Set Your Goals, Anberlin, All Time Low, and Say Anything all within 2 hours  ). We found shelter under the canopy of the big stage, but because of that we had to sit through 3OH!3, which was terrible. The rain didn't start again until the end when Angels and Airwaves played, so they only played 3 songs.

The Color Fred was the biggest surprise of the day for me. I didn't really listen to them before, but they were really good live. Definitely a strong Taking Back Sunday influence in some of their songs.

It's awesome watching bands in the rain.

I'm going to my first Warped Tour next Friday on Aug. 1st. Any tips on things to know? Also, any suggestions in regards to getting close (distance from the stage-wise) to certain bands? I'd assume just get to the stage early...once a band is done, does everyone normally still hang around, or do the 'fans' of that band leave and head to another stage?

Anyways, I'm mainly going for Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals. Anberlin, Angels and Airwaves, and Pennywise are also ones I need to see.

Not when you can't hear or see them.

I don't really like The Color Fred. Yeah they do have a TBS influence, but I just think they're much worse.

Plus he said something interesting

That TBS was the band he USED to be in. So is TBS done?

I don't know what you're on about.

There's like 7 stages and a huge blowup thing that tells you where bands are playing at what time. Find that first and plan out your day. Leave time for merch and stuff. Look for when bands will be doing signings. Get to each stage like 15 mins early for the bands you want to see.

Usually there are groups of two stages side by side, so when like the stage on the left is done, the stage on the right will start up right away etc'

Set Your Goals were SICK

No they're recording right now. I guess Fred parted with the band on bad terms.

No he left on good terms, just wanted to go off with his side project and do his own thing.

Alesana is by far the most ridiculous live band I have ever seen live.

Four Year Strong, SYG, Anberlin, and AvA were all amazing.

I thought Alesana were decent live, didn't think they were amazing though.

Alesana is ok. They are like way too overly emo it annoys me.

I'm not a fan of theirs. I saw their whole set only cause they were playing on the large stage with a canopy, and we went under it when it started raining. That was also when I endured 3OH!3.

Raining? Damn. Every time I've been to Warped it's been 90-100 dredgers out :(
