I remember him mostly from the Attitude Era (and when Nailz debuted and beat his ass), so when he was with the Corporation/Corporate Ministry. And I remember when he brought in Bull Buchanan and aligned with Trips and Steph. I also remember him being decent in the ring and drawing some good heat.

I'm not really sure what made me think of this, but it's bugging me now.

Was Big Bossman ever a face?

you answered your own question with the sentence in the parenthesis. Yes, in WWF and WCW.

Oh wow. I've only ever seen the video of that debut, and don't remember him in WCW (I didn't watch it often).

Or when the Twin Towers split and he feuded with the African Dream Akeem?

he actually has a nice run in WCW for a while. He feuded with the likes of Vader and Sting. He was known as The Boss and later Guardian Angel and then Big Bubba later on. And I think he was just Ray Traylor at one point.

He first came in as a heel in the NWA as Big Bubba Rogers as part of the Midnight Express Group.

He came in as a heel in WWF, then Dibiase tried to buy him and Akeem off. Akeem took the money and he didn't, thus turning Bossman babyface.

Big Bossman was good in the ring for a big guy. I loved when he returned to the WWF in the attitude era.

I completely forgot how young he was. I always thought he was older than 25 when he debuted in the WWF.

I remember once during the attitude era he and Vince had a falling out on Raw, and the next week he came out to 'Hard Times', which was a mark out moment alone. Then he and Vince hugged and made up and that was the end of face Bossman....

No Bossman thread would be complete without this:

I never thought he would be a world champion, but he was really good at being a mean son of a bitch.

I always think of the Slick song he used to come down to the ring to, when he was heel circa '89.

I can't remember it though, :(

Of course he was a face. I distinctly remember him being part of Hogan's Survivor Series 4-man team. 1991? 92?

I never saw him as a heel during his first run and watched videos at a later date of when he was a heel.

He was one of those ultimate faces around when I began watching wrestling.

Bossman wasn't just a face. Holy Christ he was over during the 80's. :y:
