Hello everyone, hope all is well.
I recently formatted my parents computer, the following problem is occuring after I have formatted my computer but according to my parents, this problem never occured before.
My parents are currently using Internet Explorer 7 as their browser. I tried installing firefox on their computer and noticied the same problem occuring.
Problem: No matter what website is being viewed, I have noticied that when they use the mouse to scroll down on any web pages (google, yahoo, yahoo email, etc), that there is significant slowdown. Instead of smoothly scrolling down/up the webpage there seems to be a delay... not so much in loading information or anything like but just a bit of a delay in moving up/down. This even happens on google after doing a search.
The following are my parents computer specs:
Athlon 64 3500+ (2.20Ghz , 512k)
512MB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
160GB Hard-Drive
Windows XP Home Edition - Service Pack 2
Not sure if any more specs are needed, but as mentioned the computer was just formatted. Immediately, the one thing that popped up was the lack of Memory (RAM). If this is the case, as I suspect, can anyone suggest how much RAM should be included based on the specs of the computer system?
Thank you once again.
