Movie comes out Friday. Who else is pumped for it. It is supposed to be more of a monster of the week episode then about the mythology which is semi-lame. But still excited. Been watching X-Files all week to get ready for it.
THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.

Ive been excited for it.... I just got done rewatching all 9 seasons of the series. (Which took me about two months)
I actually went with a few friends and pre-purchased tickets for Friday just because I wanted a ticket now. When I got it the ticket person looked at me and only replied "Really?"

I just don't think many people are going to see it. I will for sure. But following the Dark Knight isn't the easiest task.
I agree. I saw the first TV trailer for it last night, TDK has been promoed for months. They don't seem to be making a big deal of it, which is a shame as The X Files was pretty popular over here in it's day.

It's been a bit too long between when non-diehards cared about the show and this movie coming out. And most diehards didn't even watch a lot of the last 2 seasons.

So far all the reviews I have heard about it have sucked.
The last reviewers review that I read obviously didnt watch much of the end of the series because his biggest problem is that you never knew why the main characters were in a relationship.

Just went and saw it...
It was like a 2 hour long episode.....one of the bad episodes.
Not reallly that good which kinda dissapointed me. I was still happy atleast to see Mulder and Skully back.

This post may contain spoilers, like how the movie sucked.
Just got back from it, I pretty much agree with Shaggy. Was just a long episode that sucked. Xzibit was sooooo annoying in it. Just everything bout it was pretty bad except for SPOILER ALERT when mother fucking Skinner showed up. That was best part I think. Like when they did the shot at a picture of Bush and did the music, that made me sick. Just so corny and not X-Files like at all. If they decide to do another one (which I heard they may based on success of this one, and I bet this will bomb so I doubt they will do another one) it better be good. Heard they want to do it on the 2012 end of world thing which would be cool.
Just so pissed right now. Thankfully I saw it for free. I grabbed a ticket stub from ground when walking in and showed it to person and was like "had to run to car." Would have been more pissed if I paid for it. Back to rewatching the TV series I guess.

I am kinda hoping this movie does good just so they may potentially bring the series back. I miss the X-files. :(

Severe dissapointment. I'm a big Xfiles fan too, aside from The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones this was probably my most anticipated flick of the year.
It sucked. And it's going to flop hard, even with a low budget. They failed to come up with a good plot. The plot given would have been weak for a 43 minute episode, let alone a movie. There was nothing exciting and no substance, and nothing creepy or mysterious about it. It was hardly even supernatural.
There was also little to no 'investigating' or detective work/ suspenseful situations for Mulder and Scully. Scully literally had no reason to be there, and Mulder hardly did either.
Lame. All those years and all the stuff going on in the world and that's the best premise they can come up with. They've come up with hundred of stories more fit for a big screen than that, and they couldn't drum up something really creepy and exciting.
Sadly, I think the 2012 invasion movie revisiting the mythology and everything would probably be good by nature. I bet it would be awesome, and they probably should have just done that instead of this. What's sad about it, is because of this now that's probably never going to get made. Epic fail all around.

Yeah, like I can't imagine anyone being excited for it. Like trying to imagine Chris Carter being like OH MY GOD THIS WILL BE SO GREAT, can't picture that at all. Shit sucked

It is, because it is properly titled. It is like if they named The Dark Knight thread as Batman 2, that wouldn't work. Needs to be properly titles you fool.

I was thinking about this movie yesterday and I realized that if this movie wouldnt have had mulder and skully in it then basically it would have been some straight to dvd reject film.
I agree with PapaGeorgio thouigh....I also hope they will make atleast one more film and have it based off the whole final alien invasion thing. That would be better.
PapaGeorgio
07-27-2008, 05:32 PM
Yeah I was just telling my friends that if you take away mulder/scully would have been some shitty movie. Like it isn't even really a sci-fi movie. God it just pisses me off so much.

Well if you could change the title after a long while things would be different, no wouldn't they.

I am most upset at the reception this film has had...i wanted it to be great. It's not that hard to make it great surely. The characters are there, all they need is a half decent idea for a horror movie and away you go....fucking schmucks.

Remember that episode with the deformed family who lived out in the woods and shit, and there was that old lady with no arms or legs who they kept strapped to a bed underneath this big metal storage thing, and Scully pulls her out and she's like "AHHHH!!! AHHHH!! PUT ME BACK IN!!!"
They should've done a movie about that.

It was just like a 2 hour medium quality episode but ah well I still enjoyed it, if only just because it's Mulder and Scully.
That and the George Bush Picture Scene was great
PapaGeorgio

The George Bush picture scene ruined it for me. Like as soon as that happened realized it would be siath. Like that shit just ain't no X-Files, just too corny. Took me right out of the movie.

That shit was on a couple days ago for me. The deformed baby they buried in the baseball field was ridiculous.

That was easily one of the creepiest episodes. Also the one with the Leech dude from the freak show (jim rose circus) was pretty fucked up.
Went to see it today. Wish I hadn't bothered.

I was dissapointed when they announced that it wasnt gonna revolve around aliens at all...
But did anyone notice how the trailers often led people to believe aliens were gonna be in it.
They showed the scene of the guy jumping in the abondoned building but they added a glowing effect to him in the trailer. Then they used that line with skully talking about how she was tired of chasing "little green men".
The trailer led some people to believe aliens would be in it but it took the complete opposite route.
