Dark Match:
* Funaki b. Nic "The Natural" Nemeth
- Funaki got the win via pinfall.

SmackDown: (Airing This Friday)
* Jim Ross & Mick Foley are out to a huge pop.

* The "Cutting Edge" will return tonight with an unannounced special guest.

* MVP has some words with Jeff Hardy at ringside.

* MVP b. Jimmy Wang Yang
- This was a squash match. MVP got the win via pinfall. After it was over Hardy attacked MVP for his comments he made last week.

* Ken Kennedy b. Shelton Benjamin
Kennedy got the win via pinfall in a non-title match.

* Brian Kendrick b. Stevie Richards
- Kendrick got the win via pinfall. The live crowd could have cared less.

* The Great Khali b. Jeff Hardy
MVP came out and distracted Hardy, which caused Khali to get the win. Lots of "you can't wrestle" chants.

* Maria b. Victoria
- This was Maria's SmackDown debut. She got the win via pinfall.

* Big Show b. Domino
- This was another squash match. Big Show got the win with a chokeslam. After the match Umaga comes out to the ring and has a staredown with Big Show.

* The Cutting Edge is up next with a special guest, Mick Foley. Edge has a table, ladder, and chair in the ring. Edge talks about his upcoming Hell in a Cell Match at SummerSlam against the Undertaker. He asks Mick for help. Mick denies and they begin fighting. Edge puts Foley on a table and climbs up the ladder with a chair. He jumps off onto Foley. The show goes off the air.

6 matches, 3 of them squashes. :nono:

Well, it is interesting. Right when Raw was at its very lowest (well, since the mid 90s) a few months ago, Smackdown was, in my mind, definitely the better show.

I guess they can't put together more than one good show a week.

The Edge spot looks cool to watch. I ain't interested in the rest.

Apparently Mick Foley gives a brilliant promo when Edge asks him how he can defeat The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell. I've heard it described as "must watch."

The earlier wrestling matches sound great. MVP squashed Jimmy Wang Yang, by the sounds of it, but Yang is so fun to watch, and MVP is really good. These two could have a fantastic match. I'm hoping it's at least entertaining. This stuff with Jeff Hardy doesn't sound like complete crap, though, even if it should be Jeff facing Triple H at Summerslam, and not Khali.

Mr. Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin could have amazing chemistry against each other. Apparently this was obviously setting up something for the Summerslam Games.

I don't care if the live crowd are wankers, I'm interesting in Brian Kendrick's new character, and am happy he is getting something resembling a push. I also like Stevie Richards, and appreciate it whenever he gets a chance to appear.

Maria is a non-wrestling Diva I don't mind hanging around, and she's improved so much. Maria going over Victoria makes me sad, though. Especially with a face Divas Champion. I'm beginning to think that the Divas Championship was actually created just so The Undertaker could thank Michelle McCool for the sex.

Big Show is meant to be turning heel soon, so him dismantling people is a good way to foreshadow that. Show is also really likable these days, and a feud between him and Umaga could be cool. Umaga has looked really strong since showing up on SmackDown!. He could be a challenger to Triple H in the near future.

I'm beginning to think that the Divas Championship was actually created just so The Undertaker could thank Michelle McCool for the sex.

"Thanks for the sex, Michelle, here's a title belt shaped like a butterfly."

...not saying it's entirely out of the question, but a fruit basket would have been just as thoughtful...

The Edge/Foley segment has to be one of the best things on WWE programming in a long time

Taking a second look at the Foley/Edge segment...I thought it was well done. The emotion Foley used when talking to Edge made me realize that this match Could (IMO) launch Edge...and then again it could break him, but that it's all up to him about how much he wants to let go in the HIAC...and put it all on the line for the fans.

Hopefully we won't be disappointed in the match.

Foley and Edge were really awesome in that last segment. Foley had great points as well. 2006 Edge > 2008 Edge.

Did whoever that mystery guy is ever go by the name "Captain Exaggeration"?

It seems as if I should watch the show before making any sort of judgement of Smackdown. Turns out it was quite a good show, with obviously the highlight being the last segment. The only two things I wasn't so fond about was the Divas' match, and the extremely slow pace of Hardy-Khali.

Also it is ridiculous how over Undertaker is. "UN-DER-TA-KER" chants - like the Austin chants from 98 and 99 - are so loud and frequent the last two shows.

That foley promo was fucking amazing. I think edge was literally about to cry.

I wish more people thought that way around here. Even I was a little skeptical when I read there 3 squash matches on the card.

I was hoping that promo would've ended with Edge looking at the camera and saying something along the lines of "At Summerslam, Undertaker you're mine."

That promo did more for Edge than being partnered with Vicky and having La Familia do his dirty work. Showed Edge is going to bring it to Taker in the Cell
