Ever since World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk won the title, JBL has decried the Straightedge Superstar as a “paper champion,” who won gold on a fluke. On Monday, the self-made millionaire pinned Punk in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match to face the World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam. Then, as first-seen on WWE Mobile on AT&T, JBL went on to challenge Punk to a contest he knows the Straightedge Superstar "CAN'T win." What is this mystery challenge, and will the World Heavyweight Champion be able to prevail?

Although it doesn't come out and say what the challenge is, one would assume that's what it's going to be.

It could be a not doing crack contest.

Could just as easily be a wet t-shirt contest. Let's not jump the gun here.

I can't wait. Punk Defenders will post things like "Even if he does take place in a beer drinking contest, does that really mean he violated his principles?" Like when people were sure he drank a beer with Austin.

(He wasn't drinking beer, but that's not really the point. I'm pretty sure that if CM Punk did lines on a hooker's stomach between rounds, there would be someone out there saying "does that really mean he's not straightedge?")

Hmm, I can see them maybe doing the Raven/Punk angle where JBL ties Punk up and pours beer on him

After years of seeing Austin guzzle beer (and then hit his wife) it would probably make Punk more of a heel if that were to happen.

Remember, in WWE Land.

Drink beer = good guy
Drink milk = tweener
Foreigner = Evil
Refuses to drink beer = MEGA heel

As you said, Punk wasn't drinking a beer, so how could he have violated his straight-edge policy. You can talk in hypotheticals like "what if he did drink a beer?" but so far that hasn't happened, so I don't know what you're on about.

Also, this will probably be the introduction of CM Punk's "straight-edge" beliefs as part of a storyline, which is something, at the very least. A few people think there is a big CM Punk heel turn coming down the line. I never really agreed, but this could lay down the stones for it, although I think marketing Punk as someone with his own belief system could be a face tool.

I don't think RAW needs anymore heels right now. They're pretty stacked as it is.

You'd probably turn someone face if you turned Punk heel. Like...fuck, I'm trying to think of a heel who could use a face turn. To be honest, I can't see Masked Kane working as a heel. It'd be too awesome for the fans to really boo for long.

That being said, I'd rather see Batista or John Cena turn heel in their feud with one another. Batista makes the most sense, but John Cena is my personal preference, just because he is so stale as a face.

I forget; is the Cena/Batista match for a title shot? Or just because?

I think it's just being billed as "First Time Ever." Which is good, because if it were for a title shot, the Universe would probably implode. Cena never loses, but Batista never fails to receive a title shot. The match could NEVER end.

Then they'd be occupied, and the fans could move on.
