So I feel like getting my funk on, but I know pretty much nothing about the music and the artists/bands that inhabit this area. I don't know if anybody here actually listens to this type of music, but anyways, if you can give the titles to 3 definitive funk albums that I should buy, and possibly why.

Had no idea there was a genre called Funk. Considering that there is plenty of music in every genre that could be considered "funky".

I don't if it is actually a genre, I just want some music that has some serious groove to it, funkalicious, etc etc. But preferrable no disco, thankee.
