What is the cover in question?

I wasn't aware Kid Rock did covers. I know he samples heavily from other songs, but he tends to make up his own lyrics.

He ass raped "Sweet home Alabama"

Oh, techincally that isn't a cover, that is him sampling Sweet Home Alabama and making up his own lyrics. But I agree, he does suck.

The only one I can think of is "Feel Like Makin' Love." I wouldn't say it warrants the death penalty though, maybe some community service just to set an example for any other would-be Bad Company coverers.

No he didn't, he brought it up to 2000. Don't be so jealous over his success.

I would say the worst cover is the one that is currently running on JC Penny's commercials of Don't You Forget about Me by Simple Minds. That's one that is ridiculous to cover since Breakfast Club is so ubiquitous.

Vh1 is so much better.
I actually like the song. I dont take music all fucking serious like you guys. Its a good toon to listen to while driving. So pull the stick out of your ass and get over it.

Would be great if this happened. But it won't.

If we're killing people for being terrible, Renaissance Man needs to run far, far away.

New Found Glory would be the culprit :$

I hear this song on the radio roughly two or three times every time I go to work and yes; he deserves the death penalty.
Kid Rock's only had one good album.

2000 was still 8 years ago.
But you can't possibly have posted that with a straight face.

I dont love it at all.
But it is still way better than most of the shite on the radio.
I would rather see Lil Wayne take a bullet. And whoever the fuck Akon is, kill him too.

For as much of the fucking song he aped, you may as well just cut the shit and listen to Sweet Home Alabama in the 1st place.
Who fucking cares? Seriously? It's not like it was a 100% and tore the original to shit.

Ya'll aren't focusing on the true song that is getting fucked with. WEREWOLVES IN LONDON!
Heres the thing. I dont get the feeling Kid Rock is trying to make money off Sweet Home Alabama. Aka riding the songs coat tails. I truely believe Kid Rock just loves the song and wanted to attach lyrics of his own teenage life to it. And it reflects in the song. I dont listen to this song and think " OMG ripping Skynard off " . I honestly listen to it and think its a great summer toon. Nothing more, nothing less. I appreciate Kid Rock quite a bit. He doesnt come off as some poppy rap rock douche. He knows his music, respects those who came before and i think he's just giving a shout out with this song. Its a good song. Stop trying to be all elite and shit. Its a good song.
I was gunna make a thread last week about how i thought Kid Rock was more the just a fad. I like the guy as a musician. I think he's talented. His music isnt grammy worthy, but i respect him enough and the music enough to enjoy it and not come off as some dipshit with a giant stick up my ass preaching Skinnard, Zepplin and Hendrix like i actually was around to feel those guys at the time they were big.

Obviously the guys in Lynyrd Skynyrd don't think Kid Rock ripped them off since they're currently on tour with him.

But does Warren Zevon fucking approve? That is the true question, and the true song being fucked with. Listening to it right now. The first line of this song is better than Kid Rocks or Lynyrd Skynyrds stupid song.
I SAW A WEREWOLF WITH A CHINESE MENU IN HIS HAND.

Damn right. It's still one of my top 6, next to a tyraid of Zeppelin.
I did try to give Kid Rock the benefit of the doubt, even bought into the whole 'Hey, it's a good song to hear on the road to work'....However, I've always felt that 'Werewolves of London' was a good enough song to hear in the car and prefer Warren Zevon's lyrics to Kid Rocks butchering. I know it's not a cover, but for fuck's sake...He could have made something DECENT with the borrowed instrumentals.
