WWE Hall of Famer Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is not doing too well health wise these days as his health is said to be deteriorating‏, according to a report on www.WrestlingEpicenter.com, a site that has interviewed a number of wrestling stars over the past few years. The WWE Hall of Famer's health is so bad that one source told the website that he does not believe Heenan will make it another month. The source said Heenan is now having trouble remembering the people around him. Heenan has been in a Tampa, Florida area hospital since December. He was first put in due to reconstructive surgery on his jaw, after the first surgery was unsuccessful. Heenan was placed in a medically induced coma and was slowly brought out. In late January, Bobby Heenan was brought out, but was unable to speak. He was also in line for some more surgeries to reconstruct his facial features.

This is the most depressing news ever. The triumvirate of Heenan, Flair and Perfect is the reason I am a wrestling fan and therefore the reason I am on TPWW interacting with you today.

I'm not a particularly religious man, but God bless Bobby Heenan. Maybe the most entertaining man in the history of the business I love. With some luck, he will pull through.

I remember the last time seeing him on TV a little while back, damn he looked terrible. Just made me sad. :nono:

He's still in his early/mid 60s. It's just too young.

And the worst thing may be... were these surgeries even neccesary or were they a vanity thing? I mean, he beat the cancer... these were reconstructive surgeries that fucked him up. Could he have just continued as he was, albeit a shadow of his former self but still alive and kicking for many years?

It just sucks.

Also, I mentioned the Perfect/Flair/Heenan trio of the early 90s as a huge reason I am a wrestling fan... don't want to overlook the fact that the commentary/TV presentation of Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon was gospel to me in the early 90s. Those two together were pure gold. I appreciate it even more now than I did then, as an adult. The wrestling business could use a Heenan or Monsoon right about now.

It's a work. Kowalski and Heenan are going to debut as a tag team soon.

And then job to Dancin' Dave and Super Cena :'(

Seriously, if he doesn't make it all I have to say is Thank You.

From what I've read, he did have throat cancer and the chemotherapy he had wrecked his jaw to the point where he needed to have surgery to reconstruct. Not sure how he could have continued a decent life with a messed up jaw.

The notion of Heenan being unable to speak is the single most horrifying thought I can think of.

My dad broke the news to me about this...I didn't believe him till I read this here.

Hope he comes out well.

If Heenan can no longer talk, then he is already dead.

As much as I really don't want to say it at all (and do hope he comes out of this well), I expect that we'll be hearing about his death very soon.

Just want to reemphasize that I hope to GOD I'm wrong on that.

Update from Jim Ross, sounds more promising...

I also heard that Bobby Heenan was doing better and is going thru speech therapy and watching plenty of baseball on TV. I love Bobby like a brother and he is one of my all time favorite people. I have never seen any one in the biz w/ so much all around talent as Bobby which includes wrestling, managing, and broadcasting. "The Brain" is one of a kind.
