If you kind of think about it, John Cena and Batista copied this stuff from Stone Cold and Taker.
Taker hits stone cold accidentally with the chair during the title match woth Kane, Cena accidentally hits Batista too. Stone cold and Undertaker became tag team champions when they had a fued and so did Cena and Batista.
Stone Cold fights Undertaker on Summerslam 98 with the highway to hell and the same with Cena and Batista ten years later.
ITS A COPY :wtf:

Welcome to professional wrestling, where even the most original of angles/storylines have been done before. At least twice.

Maybe the WWE is starting a 10 year theory...they take every storyline from 10 years ago and try to match them up with the now....so that means a new ministry next year?

Makes sense, most fans grow up after a few years and quit watching, so new fans dont' know the history thinking it's a new idea.

My God... the 10 year theory makes SENSE! It explains everything!!
And that girl has one hairy chest.

Yeah, not a hairy chest fan, myself. But he's purdy, regardless.

It's worth noting that they're rehashing a lot more than just a ten year old story. It feels like they redo the same stories on a yearly or even monthly basis these days.

Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin did it before Austin and Undertaker, in the run up to King of the Ring 1997.
Pretty sure they were the first "mismatched tag team champions on a collision course" angle... in the WWE, anyway.

The whole singles-stars-team-up-to-further-a-storyline idea can pretty much be held responsible for the death of proper tag team wrestling, and "tag team specialists".

Whats a tag team?
TerranRich

It's when two wrestlers have to wrestle at the same time, from what I've heard. There's even a set of belts for two wrestlers considered the best at it. But I haven't heard nor seen anything about it.

Two wrestlers competing at the same time is a singles match, Terran.

Whats a tag team?
It's when two wrestlers commit long-term to a joint venture to become the top tandem in the tag team division, developing extensive double team moves and tricks, learning how to exploit the tag team match rules in order to dominate opposing teams, matching attire, matching philosophies, a joint selfless desire to make the whole of the team greater than the sum of its parts, all capped off with a catchy team name to make the package complete.
Virtually extinct since 1996. Extinct since 2001.

Didn't they also do this with HBK and Cena last year?

I think it's one of those weird things they do in TNA.

They're Kubricks. I own some Marvel ones.

Clearly they are Japanese. I own about half of the Marvel ones. Maybe a littlwe more. I've been meaning to pick up the rest of the Marvel series. There are tons of different sets to check out.
