Unless my thread searching skills have failed me, I don't think there has ever been a thread about this excellent artist.

I've been getting into his music a lot in the past couple of months. Very depressing sounding stuff, but his voice is haunting and so smooth to listen to. His lyrics are deep and with hidden meaning, many of them about drugs, suicide, alcoholism and love.

Some of my favorites of his are "Alameda," "Between the Bars," "Angeles," and "Thirteen," but I can enjoy pretty much any of his songs.

Yeah Elliott Smith was incredible. Too bad he murdered himself.

You know a guy's fucked up when he stabs himself in the heart... twice. Great artist though.
