View Full Version : My booking of WrestleMania 25 ('Noid Post alert)

So I started thinking ahead a little with all the current storylines. Mainly, talking to some friends about how the HBK vs. Jericho storyline could possibly go on until WrestleMania (It's a dream). It got me thinking how amazing the match would be if they could possibly keep things interesting til then and how things like that really lacked for the most part at WrestleMania recently. Then I just kind of went off onto booking the entire show and lead up. So... without further ado... my dream WrestleMania 25 card:

Ten Man Tag Team Match: Deuce Shade, Carlito, Primo Colon, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase vs. Cryme Tyme, Jesse, Festus & DH Smith

After a couple months of chasing, Cryme Tyme finally looks like they're going to win the tag titles from Rhodes and DiBiase when Deuce Shade finally makes his debut to cost them the match. This leads to an eventual six man match after Cryme Tyme finds Primo Colon as a third partner. He turns his back on them and the "third generation stable" stable takes form.

Nearing WrestleMania, the stable tries to recruit a newly re-debuting DH Smith from Smackdown! unsuccessfully. Finally they challenge Cryme Tyme (At this point, possibly the tag champs) to round up some guys for a 10-Man match at WM as they have gotten Primo's brother Carlito to join them. They go to SD! to get DH Smith and while there, run into Jesse and Festus who offer their services and the match is on. A little "Can we trust DH Smith" thrown in the weeks leading up to add some tension.

The match: Kinda irrelevant who would win. Would just be a nice little filler. No turn by DH Smith. He ends up being reliable. I guess the win goes to the third generation guys via some sort of trickery.

The Miz vs. John Morrison (ECW Title Match)

After Morrison accidentally costs Miz the ECW title and then goes on to win it himself, some tension grows with Miz speculating that it was Morrison's plan all along. Some weekly assurance from Morrison that that isn't the case before they get their tag title rematch and Morrison finally turns on Miz. Face Miz goes on a chase for the ECW Title that leads him to WrestleMania.

The match: The Miz wins a good match. Pretty cool little moment as he had been chasing for a while.

Batista vs. MVP (Raw vs. Smackdown!)

Same setup as last year. Each brand gets to pick one representative for the match. Raw picks the man who defeated them last year and Smackdown! selects it's "MVP". The hype for the match centers around interviews and training videos of both men.

The match: MVP wins cleanly after a good match. Finally gets the huge win to catapult him to the main event. Maybe a Batista attack afterwords just to keep some heat.

Triple H vs. The Big Show

After surviving the Championship scramble, Triple H goes on to successfully defend against MVP. Meanwhile, upset about not getting a title shot, Big Show finally gets his chance when Vickie tells him he can have his title shot if he takes out The Undertaker. Taker wins by DQ after interferance by La Familia. Show leaves and doesn't return until the title match between Triple H and The Undertaker. After Taker gets pedegreed, Show runs in and beats down Triple H, finally chokeslamming him on a table outside and rolling him back in. Taker pops up, not knowing what happened and last rides Triple H to win the title.

Triple H is out "injured" and is thwarted by Vickie a few times from getting revenge for fear of re-injuring himself. Finally, he gets his shot at revenge when the match is made for Mania. Booked as a classic "David vs. Goliath" feud in a Hulk-Andre style after the Goliath nearly ended the David's career.

The match: Triple H wins a match mostly dominated by Show.

Santino w/ Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James w/ Trish Stratus (Women's Title Match)

A triple threat match is set up for the women's title between Beth, Kelly Kelly and Mickie James. The prevent Beth from being ganged up on, and against Beth's wishes, Santino successfully petitions to get himself into the match. He does and accidentally wins the title by falling on top of Kelly Kelly for the pin. Beth ends up costing Santino the IC Title as revenge but the two eventually make up and Glamerella continues with Beth supporting Santino as women's champion.

Santino defends the title a few times, over-celebrating each win, sometimes with the help of Beth. Finally Mickie James speaks out against Santino making a mockery of the title that people like herself and Trish Stratus worked so hard to bring to a high level. She vows to take the title back and to cancel out Beth, she announces someone special in her corner. Her idol, Trish Stratus.

The match: Mickie wins. Some Beth interferance is thwarted by Trish. Beth walks away from Santino disgusted as Santino follows behind almost in tears. Emotional moment of Mickie in the ring with the title and Trish raising her hand.

CM Punk vs. John Cena (Hardcore Match)

Batista wins the championship scramble. Cena makes a surprise appearance to confront him about putting him out of action and it ends with a heated exchange between the two and Mike Adamle having security exit Cena from the building. Later on, Punk gets his rematch and Cena comes to ringside during the match to confront Batista but accidentally ends up hitting Punk, costing him the match.

Punk snaps, turns on Batista and becomes the "heel straight edge" character and waits for Cena to make his return. Finally, Cena returns and accepts Punk's challenge to a Hardcore match at WM. Should lead to some interesting crowd reactions.

The match: I really don't know about this one. It depends on how the crowd accepts everyone at the time.

Rey Mysterio vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Evan Bourne vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. D'Lo Brown (Money in the Bank)

... These guys all qualify for Money in the Bank...

The match: I'm thinking either Matt Hardy, Kendrick or Kofi as a surprise.

Randy Orton vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Austin announces that he wants to come back for one more match in Texas at WrestleMania, Orton steps up to "kill the legend of Austin 3:16". Not a whole lot of hype needed...

The match: Austin wins it obviously. Orton looks good but in the end, the hometown boy pulls it off somehow.

Mr. Kennedy vs. The Undertaker (WWE Title Match)

Mr. Kennedy wins the 2009 Royal Rumble. He says there is something he's been wanting for a long time... maybe even more than a world title. And that is to end 'Taker's WrestleMania streak. He goes after both in the match he promised us two years ago.

The match: I'd LOVE Kennedy to win it but the right thing to do *sigh* would be a ton of false finishes, maybe a surprise run in or two, and finally a Taker win.

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (World Title 2 out of 3 Falls Match)

Alright, this is more of a dream scenario for me. I wish the whole "Non-Sanctioned match wasn't happening so the feud could be prolonged easier but as it stands, here's what I would do. During the Non-Sanctioned match at Unforgiven, Lance Cade tries to get involved and gets left in a pool of blood. Saying he didn't sign on for it, Cade threatens to sue Adamle unless he gets a title shot... for Jericho. Adamle agrees. Jericho wins the title from Batista with help from CM Punk.

Jericho goes on to use the title as bait to try to draw HBK back for one more match (I can't take credit for this part as it was actually mentioned by someone a week or so ago. Too lazy to find who at the moment, but I will.) Eventually after some more persuasion, possibly something involving HBK's wife and kids, HBK takes the match at WrestleMania. Jericho makes the point that HBK told Jericho to tell his family that he will never be him but Jericho says after WrestleMania, he WILL be Shawn Michaels. Just like the wrestling clinic HBK put on with Bret at WM 12, he will put on at WM 25. 2 out of 3 falls.

The match: HBK wins. Show ends with him celebrating and getting emotional in front of his home crowd, tons of guys from the back come out to congratulate him. Jericho walks away with an "I put on an HBK performance, just like I said I would" Handshake, maybe? I don't know. Pretty heated feud. It would be an amazing moment to end such a long feud with a handshake but it would also be a stretch and not make a whole lot of sense...

So yeah... do what you will. Thoughts, criticism, your own dream card, more 'Noid posts, etc...

I always thought they would go Michaels/Taker at Wrestlemania 25.

For me, I think the main matches should be:

Cena/Batista
Taker/HHH
HBK/Punk

I think it should be HBK vs Jericho. Jericho is about to get the pin, and Scott Hall comes out and dumps him on his head.

For me, I think the main matches should be:

Cena/Batista
Taker/HHH
HBK/Punk

The problem I have with Taker vs. HHH is a) We've already seen it at WM before and b) At this point, Taker should be facing younger guys at Mania to keep the buzz of the streak ending alive.

You honestly don't think the streak would be at risk to HHH? There's no one else on the Smackdown roster that I think could be a threat.

Have we seen it? Yes, the last time was at Mania 17, 17!!!! Fucking ages ago, it doesn't have to be brand new matches at Mania all the time

I don't think Taker's streak would be at risk... no one would really believe that Trips is going to end Taker's streak.

And it doesn't have to be someone on the Smackdown roster. Orton wasn't on SD! when he challenged Taker's streak...

And yeah it doesn't have to be new matches every time but when The Undertaker wrestles at WrestleMania now, it's different. Someone is going after his legacy. Triple H already did it. The opportunity should go to someone younger with something to prove.

Nice card :y: I especially like the World Title match, and the Austin/Orton match also. My card would be as follows (for now)

World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Shawn Michaels

- At Unforgiven, HBK gets beat up pretty badly. Enters the Rumble as a surprise entry and comes out of retirement to win. He challenges for Jericho's title and it sets up a match for the ages to cap off one of the best feuds ever.

WWE Championship
Triple H (c) vs. The Undertaker

- I agree with Dave here, because I believe these two can deliver again on the big stage, and it doesn't matter that it's not a completely fresh main event.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. John Cena

- Rumor has it that Austin might be willing to come back at WrestleMania, but who knows? I personally would love to see this match, as the crowd would be insane, and just seeing these two together in the ring for a contest would be unforgettable.

Street Fight: Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

- Survivor Series' main event is scheduled to be CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Title, but the RAW before the PPV, Orton comes back very aggressively to show that he's coming back for the World Title. He sneak attacks Punk, and goes as far as punting him in the head, but Punk is forced into battle at Survivor Series and is selling the concussion injury the entire time, until Jericho nails him with the Codebreaker to lose his title. So as Orton was telling the RAW lockerroom he's geared to get his belt back, instead he made himself a brand new enemy with CM Punk, as these two go on to have a blood feud into Mania.

Money in the Bank
Jeff Hardy vs. Kofi Kingston vs. John Morrison vs. Evan Bourne vs. MVP vs. Matt Hardy

- The annual MITB of course :y:

Big Show vs. Umaga

- I believe this supposed to happen at Summerslam, if not then Unforgiven, since they had some interaction with one another on Smackdown for a few weeks. Anyway, I think these two can put on a great big man match.

Team RAW vs. Team SD: Divas Match
Mickie James/Beth Phoenix/Kelly Kelly vs. McCool/Natalya/Victoria

- A typical divas match for Mania, as it features both brand's Divas, and I'm pretty sure these 6 can put on a good show early on in the card.

ECW Open Challenge or Battle Royal - Champion: Finlay w/'Swog (c)

Edge vs. Mr. Kennedy

- Edge comes back looking for revenge on Vickie, but instead Kennedy returns at the same time. Kennedy reminds Edge that his problem isn't with Vickie, it's with him. He explains that ever since he came to Smackdown, he was gonna keep a smile on his face and start all over again, but after his latest injury, he realized he will never get to point he was at without his ruthlessness. So he points out the one man who's responsible for his downfall, which is Edge, and plans to take him out. These two have a lot of untouched history, and a great potential feud in the making.

- That's all I've got for now, but I can also see some sort of tag match with Batista & Rey Mysterio vs. Kane and ???.

Reading the first match suggestion of this thread, pitting Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Deuce Shade and The Colons against Cryme Tyme, Jesse, Festus & DH Smith made me want to see Jesse actually turn on the face team, reveal himself to be Terry Gordy's son, and let Festus be his own man on SmackDown!.

Personally, while The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels seems like a great fit for WrestleMania, I think that Jericho vs. Michaels actually deserves a pay-off at WrestleMania. It would be so easy to stretch the feud that far, and I think something like a Hell in a Cell Match between the two would be fucking great at Mania. The fans would be behind HBK, and Jericho has been such an amazing heel character. The feud ending here would be great. I think they should have wrestled for the title at this year's WrestleMania, but I think the title is best kept away from their feud, at the moment.

Although, I can't think of a program that deserves it more.

Now that I think about it, having weeks of "can we trust DH Smith", and then having DH just go crazy and take out everyone on the other team proving his allegiance and then JESSE ends up turning would be pretty awesome.

As for the Hell In A Cell, I'm torn. I keep going back and forth between it being a classic wrestling gimmick match like 2 out of 3 falls so Jericho can prove he CAN in fact be Shawn Michaels, and a blood feud gimmick match just to go along with the intensity. I don't know.

Triple H vs. Big Show in a non-title match?

You're a moron if you think that would happen.

The more likely scenario is that Triple H will face Batista for the world title. One of these guys will win the rumble and will challenge the champion of the other show.

Both HHH and Bats have been made to look dominant, and also have the history/on-air friendship to match.

who the hell would want to see Kennedy as a heavweight champ?

Thank you for that moronic comment, guy I've never heard of.

I would go on to explain why the match would work by explaining the fact that Trips has never had a good David vs. Goliath match and Show is the best big man in the business and go more in depth into the storyline that I explained in the initial post...

But you're just some dude...

You're a fucking douche.

Triple H has been pegged as a dominating main-eventer for years now. Why would he all of a sudden play the role of David against Big Show?...a wrestler that has been made to look significantly inferior to Triple H for quite some time?

You are also very naive if you think Triple H will take part in a NON-world title match at Wrestlemania. Are you a new wrestling fan or something? The only way Triple H would ever take part in a non-title match, was if he was fighting in "special" match against The Rock or Stone Cold or something.

Please use your brain if you post next time.

You heard it here folks... Triple H will never again take part in a non-title match at WrestleMania.

The fact is that Triple H could go in with a singles feud and the match would still feel like a title match, without the title on the line. He doesn't need the title to make his matches big. In a way, he IS a title.

Fact is, he's much better suited for a singles, non-title, well-built feud than being thrown in a shitball of a Triple Threat like at 24.

I agree. The titles should be a draw, but so should certain wrestlers. Triple H wrestling at WrestleMania is big enough without the title, even though the man doesn't draw. Triple H vs., fuck, I don't know, Kenny Dykstra, would be big enough. He doesn't need to be in the title picture at WrestleMania.

The same really goes for such guys as The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho.

This guys point wasn't that Triple H wouldn't work out in a non-title match but that Triple H would be unwilling to work a non-title match, which really is too ridiculous to even argue.

Heyman

World Title Match: Triple H vs. Dave Batista. Both of these men are about "equal" in status and have a history with one another. I'd like to see Batista win the Royal Rumble and challenge Triple H.

WWE Title Match: CM Punk vs. Edge. Yes - call me nuts but I'd love to seeCM Punk *still* be world champion by next Wrestlemania (or if he loses it at some point between now and Mania, he gets it back). Edge wants revenge on Punk for being the original person to have taken the title. He gets his wish. I'd like to see Punk go over cleanly here.

Grudge Match: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels: After Chris Jericho defeats HBK at Unforgiven (and HBK takes time off), HBK returns around Mania in time to re-start his feud with Jericho. The two faggots wrestle at Mania.

Celebrity Match: John Cena vs. The Rock. If Cena is healthy enough to compete, I'd love to see him and The Rock go at it. If The Rock can't wrestle, then I'd love to see Cena vs. Orton (with the two men doing a heel/face switch a la Austin/Bret Hart). If Cena is still hurt, then have Orton go up against The Rock, Austin, or some other celebrity.

Tag Match: Undertaker & Kane vs. ???? . Taker and Kane destroy whoever they face (doesn't matter who). After the match however - something "weird" takes place. Undertaker grabs Kane and the lights go out. We hear some weird gay ass music, and we also see something "symbolic" on the Titan Tron (that implies that Undertaker's powers are being transferred to Kane). When the lights come back on, Taker is nowhere in sight. Kane is unconscious in the ring. EMT's come out to help Kane but then Kane gets up and chokeslams everyone (symbolizing his new found power and homosexuality).

Other matches also take place.
