So I started thinking ahead a little with all the current storylines. Mainly, talking to some friends about how the HBK vs. Jericho storyline could possibly go on until WrestleMania (It's a dream). It got me thinking how amazing the match would be if they could possibly keep things interesting til then and how things like that really lacked for the most part at WrestleMania recently. Then I just kind of went off onto booking the entire show and lead up. So... without further ado... my dream WrestleMania 25 card:
Ten Man Tag Team Match: Deuce Shade, Carlito, Primo Colon, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase vs. Cryme Tyme, Jesse, Festus & DH Smith
After a couple months of chasing, Cryme Tyme finally looks like they're going to win the tag titles from Rhodes and DiBiase when Deuce Shade finally makes his debut to cost them the match. This leads to an eventual six man match after Cryme Tyme finds Primo Colon as a third partner. He turns his back on them and the "third generation stable" stable takes form.
Nearing WrestleMania, the stable tries to recruit a newly re-debuting DH Smith from Smackdown! unsuccessfully. Finally they challenge Cryme Tyme (At this point, possibly the tag champs) to round up some guys for a 10-Man match at WM as they have gotten Primo's brother Carlito to join them. They go to SD! to get DH Smith and while there, run into Jesse and Festus who offer their services and the match is on. A little "Can we trust DH Smith" thrown in the weeks leading up to add some tension.
The match: Kinda irrelevant who would win. Would just be a nice little filler. No turn by DH Smith. He ends up being reliable. I guess the win goes to the third generation guys via some sort of trickery.
The Miz vs. John Morrison (ECW Title Match)
After Morrison accidentally costs Miz the ECW title and then goes on to win it himself, some tension grows with Miz speculating that it was Morrison's plan all along. Some weekly assurance from Morrison that that isn't the case before they get their tag title rematch and Morrison finally turns on Miz. Face Miz goes on a chase for the ECW Title that leads him to WrestleMania.
The match: The Miz wins a good match. Pretty cool little moment as he had been chasing for a while.
Batista vs. MVP (Raw vs. Smackdown!)
Same setup as last year. Each brand gets to pick one representative for the match. Raw picks the man who defeated them last year and Smackdown! selects it's "MVP". The hype for the match centers around interviews and training videos of both men.
The match: MVP wins cleanly after a good match. Finally gets the huge win to catapult him to the main event. Maybe a Batista attack afterwords just to keep some heat.
Triple H vs. The Big Show
After surviving the Championship scramble, Triple H goes on to successfully defend against MVP. Meanwhile, upset about not getting a title shot, Big Show finally gets his chance when Vickie tells him he can have his title shot if he takes out The Undertaker. Taker wins by DQ after interferance by La Familia. Show leaves and doesn't return until the title match between Triple H and The Undertaker. After Taker gets pedegreed, Show runs in and beats down Triple H, finally chokeslamming him on a table outside and rolling him back in. Taker pops up, not knowing what happened and last rides Triple H to win the title.
Triple H is out "injured" and is thwarted by Vickie a few times from getting revenge for fear of re-injuring himself. Finally, he gets his shot at revenge when the match is made for Mania. Booked as a classic "David vs. Goliath" feud in a Hulk-Andre style after the Goliath nearly ended the David's career.
The match: Triple H wins a match mostly dominated by Show.
Santino w/ Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James w/ Trish Stratus (Women's Title Match)
A triple threat match is set up for the women's title between Beth, Kelly Kelly and Mickie James. The prevent Beth from being ganged up on, and against Beth's wishes, Santino successfully petitions to get himself into the match. He does and accidentally wins the title by falling on top of Kelly Kelly for the pin. Beth ends up costing Santino the IC Title as revenge but the two eventually make up and Glamerella continues with Beth supporting Santino as women's champion.
Santino defends the title a few times, over-celebrating each win, sometimes with the help of Beth. Finally Mickie James speaks out against Santino making a mockery of the title that people like herself and Trish Stratus worked so hard to bring to a high level. She vows to take the title back and to cancel out Beth, she announces someone special in her corner. Her idol, Trish Stratus.
The match: Mickie wins. Some Beth interferance is thwarted by Trish. Beth walks away from Santino disgusted as Santino follows behind almost in tears. Emotional moment of Mickie in the ring with the title and Trish raising her hand.
CM Punk vs. John Cena (Hardcore Match)
Batista wins the championship scramble. Cena makes a surprise appearance to confront him about putting him out of action and it ends with a heated exchange between the two and Mike Adamle having security exit Cena from the building. Later on, Punk gets his rematch and Cena comes to ringside during the match to confront Batista but accidentally ends up hitting Punk, costing him the match.
Punk snaps, turns on Batista and becomes the "heel straight edge" character and waits for Cena to make his return. Finally, Cena returns and accepts Punk's challenge to a Hardcore match at WM. Should lead to some interesting crowd reactions.
The match: I really don't know about this one. It depends on how the crowd accepts everyone at the time.
Rey Mysterio vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Evan Bourne vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. D'Lo Brown (Money in the Bank)
... These guys all qualify for Money in the Bank...
The match: I'm thinking either Matt Hardy, Kendrick or Kofi as a surprise.
Randy Orton vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
Austin announces that he wants to come back for one more match in Texas at WrestleMania, Orton steps up to "kill the legend of Austin 3:16". Not a whole lot of hype needed...
The match: Austin wins it obviously. Orton looks good but in the end, the hometown boy pulls it off somehow.
Mr. Kennedy vs. The Undertaker (WWE Title Match)
Mr. Kennedy wins the 2009 Royal Rumble. He says there is something he's been wanting for a long time... maybe even more than a world title. And that is to end 'Taker's WrestleMania streak. He goes after both in the match he promised us two years ago.
The match: I'd LOVE Kennedy to win it but the right thing to do *sigh* would be a ton of false finishes, maybe a surprise run in or two, and finally a Taker win.
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (World Title 2 out of 3 Falls Match)
Alright, this is more of a dream scenario for me. I wish the whole "Non-Sanctioned match wasn't happening so the feud could be prolonged easier but as it stands, here's what I would do. During the Non-Sanctioned match at Unforgiven, Lance Cade tries to get involved and gets left in a pool of blood. Saying he didn't sign on for it, Cade threatens to sue Adamle unless he gets a title shot... for Jericho. Adamle agrees. Jericho wins the title from Batista with help from CM Punk.
Jericho goes on to use the title as bait to try to draw HBK back for one more match (I can't take credit for this part as it was actually mentioned by someone a week or so ago. Too lazy to find who at the moment, but I will.) Eventually after some more persuasion, possibly something involving HBK's wife and kids, HBK takes the match at WrestleMania. Jericho makes the point that HBK told Jericho to tell his family that he will never be him but Jericho says after WrestleMania, he WILL be Shawn Michaels. Just like the wrestling clinic HBK put on with Bret at WM 12, he will put on at WM 25. 2 out of 3 falls.
The match: HBK wins. Show ends with him celebrating and getting emotional in front of his home crowd, tons of guys from the back come out to congratulate him. Jericho walks away with an "I put on an HBK performance, just like I said I would" Handshake, maybe? I don't know. Pretty heated feud. It would be an amazing moment to end such a long feud with a handshake but it would also be a stretch and not make a whole lot of sense...
So yeah... do what you will. Thoughts, criticism, your own dream card, more 'Noid posts, etc...
