I was reading some new this morning and I read how WWE put up some old Canadian wrestling events on the Backlash website. So I went there and it has a HUGE picture and paragraph of how Chris Benoit is the New World Heavyweight Champion and how he will bring that title "back home" to Edmonton for the RAW PPV, Backlash.
I fully expect that to happen... but for storyline considerations....
HOW DO WE KNOW BENOIT WILL BE DRAFTED BY RAW???????
(We all know that he will, but on tv, no one is safe from changing shows)

I don't think anyone's stupid enough to think the WWE Champions will move shows.

Obviously someone was (see first post).

That would be pretty funny if all the champions were moved to Smackdown to try to boost the ratings.

It'd be pretty funny if to add some comedy to the storyline of the night, somebody who really really wants to be on a particular show sneaks his name into that particular hat a hundred times and so the general manager of that show continually picks the same guy's name over and over until the roster is full of one guy.
Well, it would make the show suck over all, but it'd still be funny for at least one laugh.

Maybe we'll see something similar to the last draft where Vince was "scouting." We could see Bischoff "scouting" (to those who don't remember. Vince's scouting consisted of looking through a folder with pictures of the wrestlers and nothing else) before he reaches into the hat. It sounds pretty stupid, but the WWE does some pretty dumb things sometimes.

Especially since Smackdown draws higher ratings than RAW.
I dont think anyone in their right mind thinks that Benoit and/or Eddie are moving shows. Benoit has to stay because of the Edmonton PPV, and Eddie, Rey and Chavo all have to stay on SD due to the higher proprtion of Hispanic viewers for Smackdown.
I guess they should hold off advertising Benoit on the website, but as far as I know the building isn't sold out yet, so they'd want to put Benoit's face out there as much as possible to drive those last few tix sales.
The other thing is that as of right now Benoit is still in fact a RAW superstar, so until he gets selected by Smackdown there would be point of changing any advertising.

I'm extremely disappointed that WWE is in E-Town in April, and then I come back for a month in May. :'(

ya Benoit is definetly staying on Raw, he has to because Backlash is in Edmonton.
I think that all the champs should stay where the are

No... I fully expect Benoit to be on RAW, what I am saying is that on Smackdown the WWE made it clear that Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Randy Orton etc is eligible to switch shows. So Why not Benoit? Then you look at the Backlash poster and it has Benoit and it says "Benoit will be defending the WHT at Backlash", well technically we don't know that (Monday Night we will) but technically we don't right now.

If the champions are all going to stay on their same shows, why didn't they just say that that was a rule to prevent any dissapointment in people who want to see a change? I understand that it gives the idea a little flavor, but it could just as easily done if they said that the rule didn't work for the lesser titles.

I noticed that as well, I assume in edmonton they wont say that. My guess is that maybe they think Americans wont cheer for a world champ who is CDN, thats why Bret Hart was listed as being from Denver Colorado.
They said Atlanta on Raw too. He isn't technically from Edmonton anyway (born in Quebec) but I still don't like it.

The Canadian Crippler from Atlanta GA. Perhaps he is not a Crippler who is Canadian. Maybe he just cripples Canadians. As seen at WMXX. Hmm...
Anyway, if Benoit or Eddie, in the off-chance do end up switching, I am sure something will happen to have them keep their belts or something.

<font color="#99CCFF">They said if the champs move then the title would be vacated, already said that, so in the off chance they do move, we could end up with a nice little tournament for one...</font>
There is no way in hell they are vacating any world titles. The only one they may vacate is the Raw tag title with RVD going to Smackdown.

If either of the Tag Team Champs are split up, do you think that they will have tournaments for both halves of the belt, or do you think that whoever stays will get to keep his part of the title?
For example: If RVD goes to SD! will Booker get to keep half the title, or will he have to give it up and find a new partner to enter a tourney with?

Eh... WWE has made stupider mistakes.
ya Benoit is definetly staying on Raw, he has to because Backlash is in Edmonton.

Not to mention he JUST came to Raw, they aren't going to send him back to SD, even if he wasn't world champ.

Why not just f'in say that the champs can't move? That's whats got me thinking someone who is champion right now will move shows, ive got a feeling it might be RVD moving to SD, i don't think any other champs will move though.
